I agree mate, with the players we have going out of contract we might have to keep Maupay around… Except he could be going in to a bidding war with far less to spend than those around him. We are going to have to play the loan market well here.

Unless it’s Holgate or Maupay. This will be a massive window for Thelwell. It is no small job to finish the window with a squad competent in quality & depth.

He’s played 65 games the last 2 seasons…. This is what I’ve been saying. If we can get good money for Onana & Gomes huge salary off the books whilst replacing with 2 free midfielders, great business.

When i saw it i winced in pain as it looked similar to how I did my ankle just over 2 months ago... I still have about 4-5 weeks of rehab & shockwave therapy, plus 2 completely ruptured ligaments. For him to come back on the pitch until half time after that, he is all heart!

I agree about the style of football but I feel for Dyche a bit on that front. Doucoure is somewhat effective in this system to grind out results however as soon as we start playing any sort of football through him it breaks down. I really hope Thewell has found some gems in the market for next year, we desperately need to add 4+ good quality players.

That’s how I feel, I’m delighted about the result & the fact we have secured another season in the prem. I found myself after going 1-0 urging Dyche to go a bit more expansive, which I now feel was a bit greedy as there was a job to be done still. Chermiti absolute stellar effort from the lad, deserved a goal for effort alone.

Doucoure was offside the whole time there.

I hear what you are saying & I agree to an extent. I have my issues with him & after Chelsea I found myself focusing on my issues with him more than what I think he does well. Stepping back from it all though, he has actually done a far better job than we expected. As for his style - he has never been in a position to build a squad, Burnley were skint & we haven’t given him anything to build anything. If a Martinez type coach took over Burnley before Dyche, they would go down. Kompany tried to play expansive football with them in the prem & they have been battered. I’m not saying Dyche can do it but he deserves to be given a chance & hopefully these last 4 games he can try to get the team player a nicer brand of football.

I would like to hope he gets a good run of games next year to consolidate us as mid table and even look to expand on the style of football.

Football is a results business, after the Chelsea game I was more than concerned that we were on a downward spiral. I never expected us to win the next 2, especially with the dreaded home derby as one of those games. 4 games left for the season, let’s build now & go on a run that instills hope for the next season. (The only loss I am somewhat okay with is against Arsenal if its costs Liverpool the title). Proud of them all today & hope we see more results like this.

Enjoy that one lads! I’ve got to add, today is the 8 year anniversary of my mother’s passing & I’m just a ball of emotion right now. It’s always a bitter sweet day but for the lads to pull of that win is just incredible. I can’t even describe how I feel but this club just means so much.
