I have no issue with the manager being backed on this front - I’ve been calling for accountability for the players since Roberto got sacked. I do have issue though with the super negative football and shit tactics though. I am hoping and praying when he gets more of “his” players it changes but if this is to be the normal we should have kept Big Sam…

£25 million is a good deal for us based on recent levels of performance. As touched on above if he was that good you have to wonder why no top 4 or so teams from any leagues have snapped him up. Been a pleasure having him here but it’s also a bit refreshing to see us moving a player on whilst his value is at its peak.

Agree. It’s hard to say because don’t know how much room we have to move financially here but if we are bring in another player I would much prefer to see another energetic, dynamic midfielder to help out Doucoure and Allan.

All well and good but the likes of Gordon and Dobbin are showing they can do that role nicely. We also don’t have much in the way of cup fixtures and no Europe. Had we shifted Iwobi I could maybe understand brining in someone on loan to cover but I don’t want Gordon to lose game time and I’d rather see Dobbin develop further.

Perhaps but it was more about bringing him up to speed with the prem whilst having cover behind him. Bedding him in and I don’t think anyone can say it didn’t work.

I remember Moyes being pretty cautious with Baines and bedding him in slowly. I might be corrected but he did similar with Jags who played defensive mid a few times before playing centre back?

They were ripped apart. Everything says to play pacey players up front - DCL, Gray, Gordon or even Dobbin. Watch us send Rondon and Tosun out though

Well the rumour that Gbamin was told he was free to leave the club was apparently untrue ( hence why I think he got the run out in the cup ) I don’t see this being true at all.

Seen enough to not be worried about him. I think he will be disappointed for the first goal but he looks comfortable enough on the ball - the potential is there.

I think Simms could offer something for us and I’d be disappointed if we let him go. 15 minutes to go and needing a goal. I can’t imagine many centre halves would want to deal with both Simms and DCL in the box.

Gave it to Begovic - think we go down 2-0 early in if not for him. Also that save at the end was top top class. Been a good signing.
