I think their extra man in midfield is causing the most problems. I’ve lost count of him times Gomes has gone to close down ( slowly ) and Ben passed around. Slight tweak to formation for me. 3 cb’s, Digne & Iwobi width with Gomes and Doucoure, Bernard drift inside and find space between the lines. 2 up top. If Dom finish’s that it would have shattered WBA who have played well only to have been behind, need an early goal after the restart

I’d agree as well, to be honest I didn’t realise it was such a short turn around so Davies for Allan doesn’t concern me at all. Id keep DCL though, I’m not sure if King is anywhere near the standard we need and was in massive drought at Bournemouth- decent cover but not sure as a starter

Absolutely mate, although I'm not sure we have seen Davies at his absolute best either yet so hopefully both can get to those levels. 2 different players - I use to think Davies could and would emulate the Gomes of old, strong on the ball, good skillful dribbler and could pick a decent pass. Now I think they are very different in their skill sets and tactical approaches. I think Tom deserves a lot of credit though as the last few years would have been tough but he has been resilient and got stuck in. Big respect to him for that.

This is it. Such a strange season with teams dropping points regularly that if we just go one game at a time and keep picking up points we will be putting scoreboard pressure on the teams around us. I think having Carlo is going to be pivotal in the run in this season

Big Gomes fan but I’ve been ultimately disappointed by him this year. On potential ability and talent I think he rates the highest of our midfielders. No issues with Gomes in the squad but we really need him to recapture that form in which he single handedly controlled the midfield.

We've got momentum, they really dont look to offer much going forward. Maybe a slight tactical switch from Carlo to allow us to be more attacking whilst keeping ourselves solid defensively on corners ect. 3-5-2 with- Pickford Holgate Keane Godfrey Iwobi Doucoure Allan Digne James DCL Richarlison

I agree, we need to be competing against those teams but also taking points from the likes of Southampton and WBA

We will need a near perfect run in to come third... winning games and others dropping crucial points. These next 2 games are huge. 2 good wins and we are putting real pressure on the teams around us.

Not to forget there’s a World Cup in 2022. He comes back here he is going to want to put his head down and perform because he is a good shout to play a role in that Italy side. Regardless of what he might want I think we hold a lot more bargaining power than people think.
