  1. Not aimed at anyone in particular mate just a general statement. Think we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this
  2. Well Allan being back is a changer. I was under the impression it was between Gbamin, Gylfi or Holgate and if Gbamin isn’t 100% I know who I’m choosing.
  3. If it were Mina or Holgate they would be getting ripped apart though instead of finding excuses for it. Keane’s had his best season by far this year, really started to show himself as a top team defender but he has plenty of moments in him that really make you wonder - unfortunately for him most have cost goals and even points.
  4. It’s poor from Keane, he’s done it on occasions. Schlupp was covered by Mina albeit eventually. Biggest concern is Gylfi hasn’t moved an inch while you look at the ground Godfrey covered in these moments. Ball watching again. Poor goal to concede that should have been easily avoided.
  5. Must say I don’t think Olsen did a whole lot wrong for the goal against Palace, I would like to See Virginia play and prove himself as our back up keeper for next season purely to save us £££ in the transfer window but given Olsen starting last match I think that’s pretty decided. Is Gbamin ready for 90 minutes, that’s a tough call to make. I think he needs a bit more time personally. Olsen Coleman Mina Keane Digne Holgate Gylfi Davies James Dcl Richarlison Godfrey in for Mina if he’s fit enough. Holgate and Davies to sit, with Holgate offering a bit more defensive presence covering James. Gylfi further forward of the 3 linking with our front 3. It’s make shift but we have our best attacking players on the pitch here and need to be aware that Brighton play some decent footy.
  6. They have another young centre back on loan from man city who has been starting.
  7. The infrastructure is already there though Mark. Every club has juniors. The coaches are not on mega mega money. Jack Rodwell and Ross Barkley are good examples of how your academy can bring in good money - we could have sold them for a lot more as well...
  8. Also structuring our academy to give the players the best opportunity of becoming a professional footballer ( regardless of what division that may be ) should be an attraction in recruiting more young players. If you don’t make the cut here, we will do everything in our power to ensure you get opportunities elsewhere.
  9. Coleman had a good game as a player but as captain that moment was as bad as the strikers missing their chances. We lack real leaders. We need a centre back who is a real leader and Coleman whilst I love him needs to be stronger there. James gets the vote for his moment of magic.
  10. Just watched the match. Frustrating, definitely a game in which we should have won. Is it fair to question Carlo? If you had told me before the game we would have 3 1v1’s, an open 2v1 counter and 2/3 free headers on goal I wouldn’t think we were set up defensively at all. Dom and Richy will know they have lost points here. Their goal was disappointing, not sure how much more Olsen can do as it’s a good finish, Keane steps into an area that completely took himself out the game and Holgate is looking across the line keeping everyone on. Amateur defending.
  11. Bang on though. I understand everyone was desperate to see someone come in after Tosun because he was signed and meant to be the striker we needed but was just so immobile. I don’t think Kean will stay and Simms could maybe use another loan - promoted team in the prem or a solid top 6 team in the championship perhaps. We need a second striker who can come on and change a game. Danny Ings or Callum Wilson would have been ideal in my opinion.
  12. Same. I like Mina but he isn’t a world class CB
  13. If Gbamin struts around like a cocky hard man that offers fuck all I’ll judge him on that as well. For me, he got a huge opportunity in signing for us and got injured before having a chance to show himself. Regardless, I think every one wants to see him do well but also weary that he may break down physically at any moment.
  14. Great discussion and completely agree! @Romey 1878 take notes
  15. Sorry mate! Been very rural the last week or so and I havent kept up to date on here.
  16. I don't think any of his injuries have been his fault though, he has been desperately unlucky. I would also like to think based on our club's ethics and that of our fans he would get incredible support when he steps onto the pitch. Personally, I want him to be a proper asset to the team not for the story alone but if we can avoid buying another CM we can invest in other areas.
  17. Seen a stat and not sure if its been mentioned but apparently we have only fielded Richarlison, DCL, Digne, Allan, James & Doucoure on 5 occasions in the league. Won 4 drawn 1.
  18. Give him a chance. This guy is going to keep Delph out of the squad!
  19. I wish there was a crowd for when he first steps out on the pitch because I think he would relish hearing the fans behind him after all this
  20. I’d swap Holgate or Mina in heartbeat for this fella though. Not an urgent priority in the window but if we can get 2/3 in plus this deal that’s a huge window.
  21. It’s a lot of money still in this economic climate but 3/4 years of his prime would be immense for us. Especially while Godfrey continues to develop into what I have no doubts will be a very very good player.
  22. £43 million is the fee required apparently. It’s a lot of money no doubt but he is one of the best in the world in his position. If we got £20/15 million for Holgate it would be a no brainer in my opinion.
  23. I thought pickford was looking a lot better before injury. I still think we need 3/4 before a keeper so it’s all depending on funds.
  24. Davies was subbed off 10 minutes before they scored...
