I want Fonseca but failing that...I'd hope others like Favre, Emery (seems inevitable that PSG part ways), Ancelotti, and probably a couple of young Bundesliga coaches are in the mix along with/ahead of Silva.
-
Only seen his highlights, but he looks pretty quality and has a creative pass on him. He seems like he's in top physical condition as well.
Would be a bit of a slap to Dowell though (who I think needs another season loan to Champs or Lower prem).

Henry Onyekuru had more goals in the dutch league in a half a season than Steve has since 2014 so....
Pretty sure Onyekuru has never played in the Dutch league, he plays in Belgium.

Paulo Fonseca at the end of the year?

Don't know what all the fuss is about. This is a smart move for Lookman, it's clear he isn'ttt going to get regular game time and he could do with the experience.
Leipzig are a good side, they play good football and living in Germany will mature him much faster. I'd like to see more of our young players make these kind of loan moves.
If Everton are going to get the best out of Lookman then he needs to kick on. It does young players no good being in a struggling side that is short of confidence.
No issue with it from Lookman's standpoint, I agree it's a good move for him.
Just think it's ridiculous that Sam thinks he's not good enough or not ready but a top 5 Bundesliga side do.
-
If he plays, and plays well, there, it's an absolute repudiation of what Sam said. They're a club with a real knack for identifying and nurturing young talent, so they wouldn't be loaning him with just a view to bench warming. I think they either believe he's good enough to fill a need and play (even off the bench), or they're getting a leap on the competition and trying to turn his head long term.
Can we get rid of Sam yet?

We need a replacement if he does move on.
Nzonzi would be great, although maybe not realstic
Leander Dendoncker. Cheaper, younger, and (I think ultimately) better. He's aggressive, likes a forward pass, and would have to be a little faster than N'zonzi.
Would hope he could have a similar improvement/impact to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic when he moved to Lazio from Genk.

Weren't we after him to be our manager?
Not sure, seems like he's pretty keen of the DoF role and RB Leipzig is a quality gig.

Monchi left Sevilla and signed with Roma this summer he’s going nowhere.
Can't see Rangnick leaving either unfortunately. Would be curious who the other on the "shortlist of two" is. Brands is, apparently, amongst the best of the rest, just think those 2 are clear standouts.
-
I'd rather Ralf Rangnick and then Monchi. Don't know a huge amount about him, but I guess he's got to be an improvement over Walsh as DoF and gives us another scouting/contact network (if we're keeping both).

He looks okay. Nothing spectacular but okay. How old is the lad?
24 I think

Would be happy with this, looks a real talent. Move Schneiderlin and McCarthy on.

First things first activate garbutt and add to the roster in January. Second go get one of sessegnen (Fulham), chilwell (Leicester), Gaya (Valencia), Thierney (Celtic), etc.
Don't really know chilwell, but like all the others on the list. Reckon Sessegnon ends up a left winger, still love to get him.
I'd add Philipp Max (Augsburg) to the top of that list. 10 assists in 17 Bundesliga games, a wand of a left foot, good crosser, lots of key passes and a decent defender.
-
Based on who's available, been linked, and may be possible based on needing playing time during a world cup year...
In:
- Buy: Cenk Tosun (CF), Philipp Max (LB), Jean Seri (CM), Stefan de Vrij (CB), Jann-Fiete Arp (CF - one for the future, loan him straight back)
- Loan: Willian/Andre Schurrle/Theo Walcott (order of preference).
Out:
- Sell: Ross Barkley (if reasonable), McCarthy, Mirallas, Robles, Tarashaj (not sure where he is), Garbutt, Besic (or loan out)
- Loan: Klaassen, Ramirez, Besic (if not sold),
-
Yes please
-
I agree for the most part (particularly Mirallas), but Lozano hardly offers a guaranteed solution.
Also, Onyekuru has run at something like 1 in 2 over the last 2 years in Belgium. His 10 in 27 this year (while being criticised by his coach), is nothing to sniff at and not a gulf away from Lozano's 11 in 18.
Would just be wary of dropping £40m on eredivisie form, in an area with ok cover.
-
Bolasie, Onyekuru, and Lookman are all predominantly left wingers aren't they? And that's ignoring Mirallas.
Not against getting him, but I rate those 3 as pretty decent prospects and £40m is a truck load for an eredivisie goal scorer.
Would rather we focus money and attention on another CF, LB, and a CB first.

Yep -- doesn't sound good but definitely not surprised. I'd rather sell him now than lose him on a free though.
If they're going to stupidly low ball us (for even this length of contract) and he's going to try and force the clubs hand, I'd banish him to the 18's/train alone and not play him again. Let him wallow and miss out on world cup.
If he wants to go now, sign an extension with a fair (for both) purchase price and get a deal done.
Then again...I'm a prick.

40m for a 29 year old, average (2 in 11 this year), player!?!? GAGF!
Could get equivalent and/or better players for pennies on the dollar.
Mark Uth, Mario Balotelli, and even Diafra Sakho are all on expiring contracts. If they're going to look around that level, at least look cheaper (and better).
Edit: I get (hope) that this is just tabloid trash, but still infuriating.

Attention obviously needs to be on Liverpool and protecting the likely starters for that. Given Apollon have nothing to play for either, this seems a really good opportunity to get games/form into certain players and to see what options we've got.
I'd like to see something like this, all of these players should be keen to impress.
Robles
Besic Keane Jags Martina
Beni Schneiderlin
Klaassen
Vlasic Lookman
Sandro
Injuries depending, I'd look at playing Mirallas, Feeney, and DCL off of the bench. Expecting DCL to be a starter against Liverpool, but getting as much confidence as possible into him can only be good for the team.
-
What happened to the interest in/from Tuchel? Still seems like a decent option to me (man management aside), readily available as well.
Read a couple of articles suggesting Everton make an effort for Lucien Favre. Reckon that's a good shout as an option for a year or 3. Defensively very solid, has a style similar to Simeone, does well with Kids, averaged around 1.5 pts per game in the Bundesliga and ligue 1. Took Hertha from 10th to 4th, Borrussia from 16th to 4th/3rd, Nice up to 3rd (not sure where from). I'd be happy enough with him coming in for a couple of years.
-
Really refreshing lad, even claiming fault for for one of the corners.
Best of luck to him.

Not sure why you think 30-year-old Nagelsmann is ready while 44-year-old Unsworth is not, especially given how well Unsworth knows the team and the league.
Fair point...I do think the pressure would be greater on Unsworth as an Evertonian though. Plus Nagelsman already has runs on the board in the top flight. Doing well again this year, despite losing 2 of his best players from last year.
I pretty much just really like the idea of him. His man/player management is supposed to be outstanding, his tactics sound enjoyable and aren't too much of a change (aside from fast wingers) from existing for the players.
