  1. I'll be in class during kick-off. Have the TV set to record. Not looking at my phone. Want to watch this with fresh eyes. COYB!!!
  2. Maybe happy is not the right word then. Instead, nothing less than a draw is acceptable for Everton (or for me at least). Out of three possible outcomes on monday, two are the most likely to happen, or what I expect to happen. But there is still lingering doubt inside me. Last season was not easy to watch. As positive as we are looking at the moment with Bakrley, Stones, Barry (amongst others) klicking and with the additions of Deloufeou and Lennon. I still have worries. None the less, I have been more excited these last few weeks about Everton than I was the entirety of last season. Even when we made easy work of Wolfsburg. This is the first season where I'm actually yelling at the TV (tellie) . I never saw myself as that kind of person, but here I am on this forum and waking up at 7:00 am when it is requested of me to watch the Toffees. oh, woe is me. I agree that a draw is a step sideways, and really a step down, but consistency is what Everton needs. Whatever happens on Monday a loss will absolutley infrutiate me, so that's why I can at least tolerate a draw. I remember two seasons ago when we were on top of the world until Sunderland came through on that cold, wet, misserable, boxing day contest and we lost 1 to nil. Up until that point Everton were formidalble, and that's what we are working towards right now.
  3. Right now I'd be happy with taking a point which is hard for me to say. Can any team say, "Yeah, we're going to bag three points against Pulis and his thugs at the Hawthrones." Dont know with Berahino scoring the winnder last week. If we have Stones and Jags in the center though I think we will snuff him out. Hope Stones is good to go. I'm with Mark on this one. Bench "Lukawho?", but maybe give him the last 10 minutes to see where his head is. Hopefully our away form holds true for Monday and we move onward and upward. COYB!!!
  4. Went with Deulofeu. Reading fans were really bullying him, but he responded well. Could have easily given it to Barkley or Barry.
  5. He had one hell of a wonder goal for the USMNT against Brazil earlier this month. I will be excited to see what he has to offer if he gets the start. Is he a regular starter for Reading? This. Martinez must lead the boys to the precious metal Everton so desperatley need. Everton can't fall asleep like they did against Barnsley. I don't think Reading will be as forgiving.
  6. Should have won that. Lukaku had all the service he could ever dream of. Stones was immense, as was Barkley. Good cameo for Del boy. Poor Mirallas.
  7. Voted for Barkley. He could have had 2 or 3 assists but was let down by Lukaku. Stones, Jags, Galloway, naismith, Barry, and Howard did well.
  8. Everyone put in a shift. Great job Everton! Side note, and I've noticed this for awhile now. Who are the two gentlemen clad in black that stand on both sides of the entrance when the team come onto the field? They look like bouncers, and the tall, bald one looks like Big Duncs brother or something. Anybody? Quite the contrast when you see the Emirate ladies who greet the teams onto the field at Arsenal.
  9. The Scottish Messi, Naissy. Shout outs to Galloway, Stones, Jags, Barry, and Barkley.
  10. Thanks for the update! When isn't Rom offsides? It's in his nature to be offsides at least twice in a match. Glad to see Besic getting some playing time. Don't know when else we will see him
  11. Hopefully not to late to join. This game cannot come fast enough. Everton 4 - 2 Chelsea Lukaku
  12. Absolutely, I think we are looking much better than this time last year. Maybe our expectations have dropped due to how dismal we were last year. All the better. Everton can catch teams off guard on the road. We need to start a good home record and what better way than against Chelski on the 12th? We are still wobbley at the back due to a certain someone. Timmy is already returning to form and gaining confidence, and Stones has held firm through this nighmare of a transfer window. With Cleverly and Bainesy out for a bit I will try to treat them as new signings by the time January transfer comes around. I think Everton can hold strong with the recent signings until January. Come then, we can reasses and bring in the mystical #10 if we are still in dire straits. COYB!!!
  13. Apart from crosses he made, he looked like a good threat today. Hope he recovers soon.
  14. Howard. Him and Kone were on the same wave length. Timmy found his chest 5 or 6 times. Kone's touch was quite good. And he got a meg in.
  15. Im glad he got the yellow. He needs to show some fight. He can be such a daisy at times.
  16. I thought he did well today. Cool and poised. Jags on the other hand.... He was getting some boos early on. Were those Spud fans doing that?
  17. I'm happy we took a point there. Howard saved us.
  18. When was the last time Everton loaned a player to another PL club? Everton sure likes to from Chelsea. I am vaguely aware that Everton sends some of their U-21 player on loan to championship clubs, but to a PL club? GREAT! Garbutt deserves a shot at a starting spot in the PL. Lets see if he stays afloat.
  19. May I pose a question? How long do you think Everton will hold onto Lukaku? For me, I can't decide whether or not I can see Lukaku making Everton his home for the rest of his career or in a few years time he will bounce from outfit to outfit as a merc. If we have to cut our losses when will be the appropriate time to do so? Something that I am trying to understand is the relationship between player and club. Especially considering Lukaku who is a bit of an exception and unique acquisition to the club. There are so many factors to take into account concerning satisfaction on both ends of stick. The player's wants and needs, and the club's expectations from the player. Lukaku is only a piece of a foundation that Everton is trying to build around. It may take a few years for it to come to fruition which is frustrating considering last year's terrible performance. And what is to say it ever will kick on? The supporting cast is growing along with him which is why I think Everton can be one of the most exciting teams to watch in the premier league, OR EUROPE….with time and patience of course. So what will be the return investment on Romelu Lukaku?
  20. It would be interesting to see Besic at CB, as noted earlier. I would invite Evans if he were on the low. He would make good sub for Jags if he were ever to be injured.
