  1. I don't think we are trying to justify anything. Like Duncan said everyone reacts in different ways, whether it is right or wrong. I was, like yourself, bitterly disappointed but I chose to discuss the unfairness in the pub others decided to throw missiles, I know it is wrong but that is what they did and I can't control peoples' behaviour. Compare it to recent instances in that have taken place AND I know this is two very extremes. Peoples houses/ businesses have been burgled and the owners have reacted by defending themselves and their property resulting in the deaths of their assailants. They have taken the life of somebody else because of the unfairness shown to them. Can their actions be justified?
  2. Mate I know it's just a game but a game that encites passion, whether right or wrong. I did state I don't condone the actions but I understand why people behave like they do and people will have excuses for their behaviour and their excuse will be the actions of Atkinson and Suarez.
  3. I don't condone the actions but I understand why people behave in that way, it doesn't mean it's right but I understand. You can pontificate all you like by saying the only people to blame are the people who threw objects but if people are riled by unfairness then retaliation is often the following course of action. Atkinson and Suarez did contribute to the actions and apart from the blatant dive that caused the ridiculous sending off, Saurez was asked on more than one occasion to remove himself from the touchlines and close proximity to Everton fans, firstly after he scored and another when deliberating to take a corner, whether this is wrong or right it only inflamed matters when he took an age in doing so.
  4. I'd be surprised (and happy) if that didn't happen.
  5. 2-0 win courtesy of Cahill with a 24th minute near post header and Baines free kick after a Carragher push on sub Velios after 71 minutes. I suppose that would do nicely.
  6. Very disappointed from that showing. I am beginning to get fed up with negative tactics of employing one man up front and that being a midfielder. We may not have the biggest of squads but we have forwards sitting on the bench, i'm afraid that just f**king annoys me. We may have contained City and given them their sternest test so far this season in regards to them having to break us down but that they did and we couldn't change our status within the game. Because of our tactics the obvious choice for man of the match is a defender and like many I agree that Distin was our best yesterday.
  7. Franny Lee once scord record number of pens in a season, 13 I think, surely he must be one. Tevez was top scorer couple of seasons back. Would be cuessing on the third maybe Joe Royle in the 70's or Dennis Tuart.
  8. How do you feel about City's wealth, especially given our own economic problems? If it happened to us I don't think I would be worrying too much about us being despised by others. If you have it flaunt it. It may not be the best for the game but that isn't the fault of fans of Man City. Enjoy it while you have it I say. What do you think of City's recent plans for their academy? They look impressive. It helps having the money to be able to do that but if it enables home grown talent to flourish and you give them a chance then fair play. What do you think about their current form and style of football? Look to be playing less cautious and more attacking. If that continues it will deflect from the 'money' issue. I still feel that you will tonk the lower clubs with 3's and 4's but may struggle to win the crunch games only through others knowing how to grind out the 1-0 wins when they matter. Is Mancini the right manager to guide them in the English game? Well he seems to have got his act together so far this year. If he is playing a more attacking game then when he needs the more defensive approach, say holdong on to a 1-0 against the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea or even us then his Italian approach may be invaluable. If he doesn't get you in the top two this year then he may find himself out of the door. Do you have any City players in your Fantasy Football team? In the Barclays Fantasy League I have Hart, Silva and recently brought in Aguerro and lo and behold last week I got my biggest score so far this season. I can see them staying with me most of the season. Which City player is going to be the biggest threat during our match? Silva and Aguerro definately. Which City players would you like at Everton? The two above, i've always liked Milner, Johnson would have been a good loanee, Kompany has come on leaps and bounds and Hart will be Englands number one for years. Sod it just give us your bench. How do you view the relationship between Everton and City fans? Mostly fine but like most games between sides from the cities there is the underlying element of aggression. Are there similarities between our two clubs? Blue v Red, sleeping giants for too long, both had the experience of being 'money bags', although you current situation at present dwarfs our standing in the game in the 60's and 70's when we known as the Mersey Millionaires. How would you feel if City were to win the Premiership? Fine by me, may be good for the stanglehold of Man Utd/ Chelsea and even Arsenal to loosen. Whether it is good for the game in the long term who knows but as I said earlier as fans if money brings you success why worry. What will the final score be on the 24th? 2-1, either way. Head and heart ruling together.
  9. Chaat (what a great name), the British Curry Club magazine, issue 1.
  10. Well going on what we have done in four games this season, our worst performance got us a 1-0 win, a half decent performance got us a 3-1 win, a so-so performance got us a 1-0 defeat and our best performance got us a 2-2 draw. So if we play crap we will win 2-1, if we play really well we will probably lose 2-0. On that assumption it will be 1-1.
  11. Er I think it locks your keyboard onto capital letters.
  12. Iggy and MikeO have said the magnificent 7.
  13. Bloody hell, they will take months responding to all them questions.
  14. They'll end up on general sale, season ticket holders can get a spare one now.
  15. That is correct Mike but I should have phrased the question better. It should have been a scorer in the final itself (the last game) and the first goal in the first game of the next tournament, that is Allessandro Altobelli of Italy in 82 and 86. Well you get two answers for the price of one. The referees are as you said. The Scottish referee was Charles Faultless, the English referee was Arthur Ellis who did indeed star in It's a Knockout and the Egyptian referee was the superbly named Mustafa Kamel.
  16. Another vote for Hibbert, without being outstanding he was the best player on view to day in my opinion. I thought Osman, who I am a big fan of, had his worst game for a while, he looked knackered (although you can't fault his effort) and why he stopped to allow Di Santo to get his shot in for the goal I don't know.
  17. 1. Which years saw a player score his countries final goal of the tournament then four years later his countries first goal of the tournament. 2. For comic effect, who was the Scottish referre in the 1954 finals, a rather apt name? Englands referee in the 1950 and 54 finals became famous for appearing on what television show, who is he?. What was the name of the Egyptian referee in the 1974 finals?
  18. I think Scholes will be correct, what about Dion Dublin or Andy Cole?
  19. Fellaini for me, his class was there for all to see and he controlled the game with his skill and won most headers in both boxes highlighting his allround play. Baines, Cahill, Osman all deserve a mention.
  20. Best performance of the season so far, even if it didn't have a lot of competition in that race. Actually good movement throughout the pitch, played at a good tempo and Villa hassled out of their stride. To be honest all Villa wanted to do was play long balls for Bent and Agbonlahor in the first half which we coped with ease. I was concerned with Coleman going off and possibly the lack of cover with Hibbert down the right especially with Albrighton coming on for Villa and expressed this to a couple of mates. However that should not detract from a better all round performance which would have seen us collect three points most weeks. Optimimism and confidence for next week intact.
  21. 9 for me, eventually, had Ronaldo instead of Drogba.
