  1. Re-iterating what Fairwooney has said. According to Radio City this afternoon, Saha, Beckford and Cahill all non-starters tomorrow.
  2. They where obviously in front of the ball, just not making a wall. Similar to someone having a shot from open play just outside the box with movement in front of the keeper. The other sounds similar to what you can do from a penalty, as long as the player receiving the ball is initially behind the player passing, he is deemed onside. Arsenal missed one in mid 2000's at Highbury attempting this.
  3. Sod it play three up front, Beckford, for a confidence boost, Saha for sharpness and Velios for match time with him in the middle. 7-0 victory, optimism optimism optimism is my key thought for the week. Rodwell will be able to dominate the midfield as he did against Huddersfiled last year with Barkley and Osman offering support. The defence of Hibbert, Heittinga, Duffy and Baines will easily cope with what Sheff Utd have to offer. Easy this managing lark isn't it?
  4. A couple of years ago Tony Gale (now often seen on SKY sports) was managing a Southern based non league side and he came up with that idea and lined up for a free kick without a wall and guess what it back-fired on them. From one free kick the bloke scored direct ( movement of opposing players distracting the keeper) while for another a player raced into a closer position after others where used as decoys and ended up one on one with the keeper, can't remember if he said he scored though. Not as easy as it appears!
  5. Sorry about that but he and others know I am a quiz buff(sad I know). That sort of trivia I know quite well but ask me the Everton scorers since the Prem started, i.e. the link on another thread and I struggle??
  6. When did he retire, must be 90's keeper. I remember Thomas Myrrhe saving a penalty against a regular and it was his first miss, that may be Alan Shearer tho and not Le Tissier. Schmeichel was pretty decent at stopping pens. However I shall wonder you all with my football knowledge and proclaim Mark Crossley as the keeper, he is also 1 of 3 to have saved pens in an FA Cup Final and at the time it was highlighted because he had saved something like 8/8 pens in the league.
  7. A six pointer at this time of the season, oh dear!.........ah well optimism optimism optimism is my key thought all week. 3-0 to us.
  8. Every time we have to defend a corner, free kick or throw in near our goal line we pull everyone back. This is SO negative, even QPR left TWO men up front when we had a corner in the second half and they where winning 1-0 away from home. Moyes has done this year in year out........BORING
  9. European Championships, must be 1968ish.
  10. No! but I have been in a few and had topical debates with the driver.
  11. E.On when we played Chelsea and Marcos Littlewoods and AXA give us three.
  12. Mr Nobody would have been better than Rodwell. Osman, Arteta even Neville would have been better as well.
  13. Marco, Spot on with what you have said and more. Witnessing that today....................was witnessing a total lack of fight. ..First game negativity.............no wonder!
  14. Can't argue with that and I am a big fan of Nevilles for what he brings to the club BUT as I have said in an earleir post APATHY has set in.
  15. Had a go earlier today and got..........................................................47, haha, 48 plus Bob The Pole.
  16. Halewood, I respect your views, and remember last season and so many before, we created the ODD chnace today and fuck all else. At my age I have seen some shite and believe me that is up there with it.
  17. Need to get off before the cat/ dog/ I get kicked into touch BUT we start off with a midfield of Rodwell on the right, Barkley on the left and Osman and Heittinga in the middle..............................oh fucking dear!!!
  18. Apologies to other fellow posters and admin, to where this rant belong's. BUT I have just seen, possibly, the most abject, worthless performance ever from an Everton team. Totally and utterly shite, the only positive being Barkleys efforts. It was that bad I am lost for words
  19. 47 years old, season ticket since 11 years old, been there done that. Apathy and any other remark has set in, I seriously believe I have just seen a death knell.
  20. Laffy, I have a dog, I have a wii and a wife for nearly 25 years, wlil that suffice.
  21. Le Guen a couple of years ago, no idea of the other though so i will say Souness although that is wrong.
  22. Where do I stand? Fan or Fanatic? Apologies, I answered the questions in the quote!
  23. i am going for sheer optimism and predict a 3-0 victory. After a cagey start with QPR looking to defend to claw back a point after last weeks defeat to Bolton, we will eventually wear them down and get a comfortable victory.
  24. I thnk Norwich had Proton, don't remember if that was premier league days though. Maybe Swindon, Barnsley or Oldham had something. Did Derby have anything about Rolls Royce, only cos they where made there. I;ll go with Swindon and Rover along with Norwich/ Proton and Marco's two guesses.
