  1. Big Dunc? and i'll have Solksjaer
  2. Henry, Yorke, Hasselbaink, Robbie Keane, Giggs, Van Nisterooy, Ronaldo, Bergkamp, Anelka, and Cantona or Solskjaer, i'll go for Cantona.
  3. The march is making the BBC news now, link wouldn't post.
  4. Toss up between, Ipswich(early 60's), Chelsea and Blackburn(don't know their first times). My intuition says Ipswich.
  5. I wouldn't have got that if that is correct. I would have said Michailichenko.
  6. Optimism, optimism, optimism is my new season long buzz word/ phrase. 2-0 Beckford and Arteta...................................Shit been away for a week, 2-0 Fellaini and the Argie.
  7. MMM I agree with titles because being the ............ (add whatever quip you wish) I was reading it as a new thread and thought completed in two years time, are you avinalaff.
  8. Been away for a week, so apologies if I am repeating what has been said. In the past few weeks a consnsus of opinion in these parts has been if we can get 10-12 million for Arteta that would be good business, the fact that we did not bring in any other similar type player has detracted from that. A good profit on a player who can blow hot and cold, admittedly when hot a great player, would be sound business if the cash was used for re-inforcements but there lies another debate?
  9. A classic post from Avinalaff, even if one or two points I don't agree with but 10/10 for effort chum.
  10. I disagree, he made three poor mistakes in the space of a minute (or less), the fact of who he is/ what he can do is irrelevant, others would have been slated. You're playing, you take it. Through the game the expectation on the kid was immense and only brought on by oursleves, when it fails to deliver who do we blame? I agree with Moyes on his substitution not to save the lad but as a learning curve.
  11. Having just got back home and in the stupor of copious amounts of beverage........my take is, we were awful and got away with the ultimate smash and grab. I could play monopoly for the rest of my life and never have as many 'get out of jail cards'. Whilst I will relish the win, I won't go overboard.
  12. I have gone against the trend on this thread. I have looked outside the box (literally) and have vote for Fellaini. Why?, he never gave up, always challenged, to me he gave his all and got twatted for the pen ( and not fot he first time). Howard will be the obvious choice for a penalty save and a oouple of other good saves but a young lad is asked to do two or three roles a game and today I thought he was the only one who sood up, Fellaini just for me.
  13. Thats a cracker, I couldn't even guess unless I went for an England player if it was in Mexico, i'll say Martin Peters.
  14. I would have got that wrong, I would have gone for Notts Forest, so thats a new one for me to remember.
  15. Thanks everyone for their best wishes. Nice early present yesterday courtesy of our 3-1 win, hopefully a belated one on Saturday. Off for a few jars and a curry later, cheers.
  16. I know Bill, if I know i'll let it be known if not i'll have a guess anyway.
  17. Q: Apart from Wembley, which three other stadiums which hosted 1966 FIFA World Cup Finals matches are no longer football venues? A: Come on Bill, I need a challenge! White City (which once caused an almighty heated debate in my local) and presuming the question means that they are not venues at all, the other two are Roker Park and the scene of the shock 1-0 win for North Korea/ Italy game, Ayresome Park. Did you know parts of the Ayresome Park ground where used in the development of the housing estate that now stands there. For instance they used parts of the goalposts to use as boundaries and signs indicate that where you are now standing was once the centre circle, penalty spot etc etc.
  18. That wouldn't work for me either Bill, until the third or so time.
