  1. With being a local lad, he's always going to be under a lot of pressure in Merseyside, he's after a fresh start in a different city which is fair enough. It's about a fresh challenge not about money if that's right, so lets just see what happens. Just of interest if he stayed till next year and let his contract expire, would Everton still get a development fee(which could be decent for an England international) if signed by an English club?
  2. apologies I didn't know the player of the year wasn't official. I still think he has an eye for goal, the hull goals mostly were not tap ins. yes he's no world beater but in those goals he should good touch pace and offside awareness. You obviously don't like/rate the guy that's fine, but I think he gets a lot more stick than he deserves.
  3. In the current market £10million is cheap, he has played in Turkey super league prior to him being player of the year in Russia, and he is a proven goalscorer, regardless of his limitations.
  4. Exactly and having pressure on him at the end of last season may not have helped. he may have wanted guarantees about Koeman's vision and see what other players Everton signed. I can see him using Rooney as a mentor if he stays.
  5. Pickford and keane are much younger and have potential to improve and resale value. The 50 million for Gylfi is all about what he can do for the club knowing we will get little of that back. The other worry I have is that from the skysports article is that the majority of his goals/assists are from set plays, I'm sure between the likes of rooney, baines, sandor, klaasen etc we are well covered in that department. I think the delays are that he is Barkley's potential replacement, until it sorted for sure he is leaving or staying there may be no movement. I would like ideally to keep Barkley and spend the money on quality upfront.
  6. He was questioned, but not sure he was ever charged?
  7. Sorry but I do not think he is as bad as people make out. He certainly made me happy when he scored this goal and I think he will sign for a lower EPL or a championship team and score goals.
  8. he was given 45 minutes. not saying he is good enough for top 4 ambitions but he did ok at Hull. He probably would have been a better option than Kone who stayed last season.
  9. Has a number for upcoming match in Africa and may get some pre season friendly time to keep him fit and put him in the shop window. I can't see RK changing his mind.
  10. I said before £30million was a lot for a soon to be 28 year old and wont have great sell on value. Be better if we can keep Barkley and hope Rooney helps him develop as a player.
  11. Rooney will not come to be a bench warmer or just to pick up a pay packet, he could go to China and get paid a lot more money. He wants a fresh start to try and get his place back He obviously didn't fit in with Jose's united but unless you are 6 foot something many don't, when he left last time the club needed the money and he was young ambitious and got sold on moving to win things which he did. I would rather his wage was in-line with the rest of the teams higher earners and anything else made up with endorsements, or performance related but we will have to wait and see. He is not as slow as many folk make out even at 31 and despite his critics over the years his goals both at club and international level speak for themselves.
  12. He showed with PNE he can do well at championship level and Grayson must have identified him as a player he wanted to take with him, so must have faith. He is a lot more talented than he was able to show for us, hopefully he can go and get his transfer and for a 31year old Everton can pocket a decent fee than can go towards a young start for the future.
  13. He can be very good, reason he is being loaned out is he won't get a work permit yet.
  14. As long as he now does his talking in the pitch I don't mind. For £10 million he's a decent back up striker who has proven he can score in the premier league and just turning 26 should be coming to his peak and be useful for a few years.
  15. Sounds like another good one for the future, only one cap, so is he going to Anderlecht as he may not get work permit straight away?
  16. He will be 28 in September so £30million not good value for us, I can see Swansea's reasoning for turning it down as without Gylfi would they stay up?
  17. Yes he did sign for a development fee when his contract ended at Fulham. £30million is a lot for someone from Scottish league who may not deliver consistently at a higher level but he is only 20. I think there will be better options out there, and it may just be agent talk as he wants to leave and we will be in the market for a new striker if Rom leaves. Inhenacho is a similar age has proven he can score in the premiership and is supposedly cheaper.
  18. Rather than compare him to Gana, I think he will now be surplus because of the emergence of Tom Davies, who can do the running, tacking and offer more going forward. If the offer is right it may be worth letting him go, especially as he's soon keen to play and get injured for the leaping leprechaun on international duty.
  19. I still like him and he is still improving. yes he has made a few mistakes but even the best keepers do. With experiences the lapses in concentration will become less. I think there are other areas which need to be prioritised. Definitely worth a contract extension, whether he is offered one or he believes the manager rates him enough for him to want him to stay.
  20. I think he did Ok at Hull, with manager leaving them and the wages he is on, being high for the championship reasons he is returning. He did as well or better than other Hull strikers and probably did enough to put himself in the shop window, with the current market someone will pay £10million as quoted for him.
  21. He will want to prove he is still good enough to play for England at the 2018 world cup, so has a lot of incentives to play well which I think he would if we signed him.
  22. Would be a very similar signing to Rom when he arrived, but in my opinion a better all round player, at the same stage. Buy him for £20million and City will buy him back for 80 Million in 3 years.
  23. Depends on price and wages, but some players at his age changing clubs get a new lease of life. Obviously he doesn't fit into Mourinhos plans, he could be worth a shout but not as a number 9. I think he has one good season left in him and has the incentive of trying to get back into the England squad for one last world cup, so money won't be the main priority.
