  1. You having a laugh?? Nolan will be worth £4-5 million, Davies is worth £4-5 pound!!
  2. I noticed him playing in the youth cup final for a very good Villa team. Obviously he is only a baby so he is nowhere near the finished article but with turning down Villa's wage offer we could nip in. I think we have to follow Spurs lead and get these young players when we can afford them. I'm sorry to offend Craccerc with my list he is obviously a true spotter of talent and knows far more than the rest of us beacuse he can randomly call proffesional footballers "shite" when he has probably never even watched them for more than 90 minutes.
  3. I don't see how you can knock the lad. He has played all over the park and done a good job wherever he has played ( escpecially at CB against Chelsea) he may not be the greatest but he will give his all in that blue shirt and thats all you can ever ask. I go home and away and he has been consistantly one of our best players but thats not good enough for some people on this forum i know.
  4. Depending on how we can structure the deals i.e fee over the length of the players contracts i'd go for realistically speaking: 1. Andy Johnson 2.David Nugent 3.Jolean Lescott 4.Leighton Baines 5.Jermaine Pennant 6.Jason Roberts 7.Wayne Routledge 8.Fitz Hall 9.Gary Cahill (Villa and out of contract) 10.Wright-Phillips (year loan)
  5. Just been announced Tim Howard has signed a year loan deal.If he shows anywhere near the same form for Utd in his first season that will do for me. I think you might see a few loan deals this year as we only have £7-8 million to spend.
  6. I'd deffo have Davies (West Brom) but i think the Arse will get him. Other than that i'd take Pennant , Arca and maybe gamble on Forsell for a million.
  7. I'd be made up if we sign him. He's strong, quick and good on the deck. If Joey stays those two would be shit hot.
  8. Wasn't this the hardest PREMEIRSHIP player? I can't think of anybody who could have Big Dunc off, he has never been threatened but i reckon he'd love it and have a proper tear up cos he doesn't give a fuck. I reckon Shearer was top drawer too.
  9. They've got lots of injuries so if we can't beat these we have issues. 3-0 Beattie (2), Cahill
  10. I'd like any of these: Johnson, Nugent, Davies (West Brom), Clichy, Pennant, Reo Coker, Lescott.
  11. Forget my last post. There is no way Moysie is going there to look at Sheff Utd cos they will have a different team next year. He's going to watch Jerome or Koumas. It's just my opinion but ive seen quite a bit of Jerome and i don't rate him. Granted he's scored a load in that division but his all round game is way below Prem standard.
  12. Fancy us today i'll go for 2-1 Beattie and Cahill
  13. I was bored shitless but its better than we normally get there.
  14. I can't see any other opinion but it orked out for both of us. Granted he was cack in front of goal but he cost next to fuck all and we made money on him. He was of the main reasons we got into the Champs league with his leading of the the front line on his own and worked damn hard. I think he saw his arse when Beattie came and maybe justafiably so after Beatties early performances. I hope he goes on to do well (except against us).
  15. last chance saloon for europe methinks. If we dont get a win changes need to be made in goal for the rest of the season. I would be happy with Neville playing at left back or even Ferrari. I'll go for 0-1 Beattie, I'll be there Lower Gwladys'.
  16. I think your both 99% on the sentiment but were talking about £20,000 to anything up to £90,000 a week. It's a hell of a lot of money that you can live comfortably off for the rest of your life at the bottom end of the scale. God don't get me started i nearly brought up that twat who left us. By the way is it me or is it like everybody in the media/world has forgotten he used to actually play for us. It seems like the Mancs get the plaudits for develloping him?
  17. I think we all have to be realistic now and agree that the days of Matt Le Tissier staying at one club are long gone. Maybe Shearer staying at Newcastle is the last you will see as i can't see Torres staying at Betis either. As soon as a player makes the grade the bigger and richer clubs come sniffing and the players go rightly or wrongly. I think Spurs are doing the right thing by buying young players and keep re-negotiating longer contracts to keep them happy. Unfortunately the cream of the other clubs outside the GIANTS with the money are never gonna stay Rooney, Wright-Phillips, Wallcott to name but a few.
  18. To Tara Mac how can you say Yobo has not got got the ability as midfielder or a defender and then ask £7.5 million for him? I agree with you Raccy Boy at times our supporters do my fuckin head in! We bitch and moan all the time because some of us still think were in the mid 80's and deserve something that we shouldn't. God help us if we would have gone down a few season's ago because fuck me what would some of you been like then? Why do people still go on about the Man Utd game? Ok it was a bad mistake but who doesn't make them? Up to the African Nations Joey was our top man and it seems every time he has an injury he can't get back in the team for ages and it must infuriate him. I've said it before Joey is class and if he does go watch him go on to make a great career for himself and i bet half of you turn round then and say how you all knew he would turn out so good. I bet you all bitched about Materrazzi. Ok i know it's a forum for opinions but fuck me!
  19. I think it's difficult because you don't know how Wenger, Mouriniho and Ferguson would do with no money and a struggling team. I'd probably say Wenger would be better for his ability to unearth young players. He also play's the most attractive football and the season they went unbeaten was the best football i've seen from a Premiership team. I also think Big Sam has done an amazing job at Bolton, every season they get stronger without spending money. He seems to get the best out of players that have been discarded and can also motivate older players that have won the biggest trophies on offer. I still wouldn't swop our Davey for anybody though!!!
  20. He's not that prolific? he's a midfielder who got into double figures last year and may do again this year. The lad is class and i'm not putting a price on him because i'm not thinking of him going.
  21. Load of bollocks. He has been quoted loads of times saying how much he loves it at Everton. Reading? £2.5 million? Your'e having a laugh.
  22. I Think we need to establish which area's of the squad we need to improve on. Since we've signed Neville we can get away with slotting him at right back, left back so thats not imediate. If we keep Ferrari then we have our centre halfs with loads of cover.Midfield would normally pick itself but it depends on what formation we play next season. I feel we need cover for the right hand side but on the left we have Arteta, Kilbane, Van De Meyed and Jimmy Mac. So maybe Routledge from Spurs for about £2 million. Carsley should be up and raring to go with a good pre-season but we could do with a play maker in the centre in case of injuries.Malbranque maybe? I think we all know up front is were we are lacking. If Big Dunc goes in the summer we are down to two forwards plus Vaughan when he gets fit. Ideally you would need 5 stikers, I'm desperate for Johnson and i'd like Nugent aswell. If not Johnson ive always liked Roberts at Wigan ever since he played for Bristol Rovers. Oh yeah i'd keep Nige for one more year with Turner as back up.
  23. My first game was when my stepdad threw and Everton scarf and told me i was going. 1986 versus Southampton we won 6-1 Lineker scored a trick. That was me then i thought every game was gonna be like that. No other club could ever come close to the thrills and spills that we've been through 20 years from then
  24. If Yobo went and played for a team in the Champions league i would expect him to go on and be one of the worlds best defenders. If he cuts out the silly errors form time to time he is world class. He relies on his pace to get him out of trouble when he ball watches sometimes but that will change with a bit of experience. I do hope he stays but unless he signs a new contract expect him to go just like Tommy.
