  1. Won't lose his job before the end of the season. Already lost the dressing room. Should play youth. They would listen / play for the shirt. But that is logical and he is not. Will instead play senior players out of position. Can't wait for summer. Improvement needed. COYBS!!
  2. played last year in a europa league game was injured in the beginning of the season, assume that is why things slowed down looks to be a player
  3. Just got back to the states. Was unable to snag Watford tickets but did catch Fulham vs Cardiff. Luke Garbutt was ok. Nothing to write home about.
  4. Going to be in London during the Watford game. What would be the best way for a US resident to acquire four tickets? Been checking the web every day for general sale but doesn't look like it has opened up yet.
  5. Doesn't he play on the right? Just like every single winger we have? Left footed but likes to dribble to the middle with it. Would be an expensive deal to add a player to the position we have the most cover in. I would certainly pass on it. In all seriousness, Konoplyanka would have been the winger to get from Kiev. A monster on the left. He prefers La Liga, so do not see him leaving now that he is at Sevilla even though he isn't a guaranteed starter.
  6. They did win the Europa League last season, but on the other hand they do look to be on their way out of the Champions League this year. Sevilla is a decent team. Has had a shot at top four the last handfull of seasons. Personally do not think it will be the size of the club that will draw him away if he does leave. Plus I do not think he would be guaranteed a starting role in the top teams in Europe (already 27 as well). Think it will come down to the amount of playing time and position that Sevilla will hand him. He has started most matches (minus his knee injury) but has only made it the full 90 twice. Sevilla sometimes mixes it up with formation and he has been used as a defensive and attacking midfielder. It will be interesting to see how their midfield develops over the course of the season. Sevilla lost some midfielders who got game time last season (Denis Suarez, Gerard Deulofeu, and Stephane Mbia) but picked up some new faces to replace them (Steven N'Zonzi, Michael Krohn-Dehli, Evgen Konoplyanka). Currently all three of the new faces have more game time than Banega this season. There is also competition from Iborra, Krychowiak, Vitolo, and Reyes for roles in the midfield. (Though Vitolo, Reyes, and Konoplyanka mainly play on the wings). In fact Banega has the least amount of minutes out of the players I mentioned. (but maybe his injury accounts for some of this? missed 4 games due to knee) Banega has played with Mori and Deulofeu before. So it is not completely out of the question. Will just depend how things shake out at Sevilla this year and how much we want/need him. It is one to watch. On a completely different note, my second post! and the league is back this weekend! Stoked.
  7. Got the penalty that Neymar put away but IMO has been struggling to make his mark this season (though Barca has not been in top form most of the season). Him and Sandro have been sharing the minutes that Messi's absence has created. Has looked impressive in the past and is the reason he is in the lineup. Slippery, quick, and can play out wide. Certainly one to watch while Messi is still out. Rumors probably surrounding the fact that come January, with Messi, Turan, and anyone picked up in the window (Nolito?), Munir will be far down in the pecking order. Also my first post! A USA based Evertonian who is also a Barca fan.
