  1. I know all the boardroom problems but to get that result in that way with the same squad shows how good Dyche is (I know it’s one match) but also shows how low Frank had fallen. This squad is good enough for now. Onanna amazing Gueye was amazing too.

whaf I actually noticed was all the players played the best version of them. No bad performance.

gutted Dyche didn’t join when Rafa did I think he could have similar impact to moyes.

Best Everton performance and carrying out a game plan I have seen in 2-3 years.

  2. I think lampard was a poor appt but maybe a symptom of how far we have sunk. I would be happy with Dyche I would have taken him over a number of our other manager choice. I see him as a bit like moyes he may not be ancelotti but he can build a team better than the sun of its parts and that is what we need.
my perfect scenario would have been kept ancelloti but I get that was never going to happen.

The results are certainly worse, yes. I think the biggest mistake has been to chop and change systems. 5-3-2, 3-4-3, 4-3-3 etc. He has been unlucky with injuries and has had to shop for players at bargain basement prices so I have a lot of sympathy for him but he is not blameless, I agree.

Interested to know mate would you have appointed Frank if we were in a better position. AND would you sack him now today?

Some, yes but he is being set up as the only fall guy and whilst I understand the frustration and the desire to see change, I am not at all convinced that any other manager could do any better with the same resources and funding.

There is defo some truth to both sides but when you say the same resources Frank has some of his own resources and the side is worse than last season.

Unlike Ancelotti and Koeman, Frank is seriously hamstrung by finances. The days of buying four Number 10s at up to 40 mill a go are over. Frank bought the best he could within the parameters in which he has to operate. A classic case of 'don't shoot the messenger' in my opinion as Frank has been left holding a very poisoned chalice from day one. I don't think Guardiola could get us out of the mess we are in and I am getting ready for next seasons fixtures to include Plymouth Argyle.

I don’t know the maths of it but he did get given money from Ricky sale. The CB pairing the midfield pairing the back up striker and one winger were all his. He has to take some responsibility for our position

You might. I’ve not forgot the issues with the board for years. It’s been a bit sugar coated when we were spending money left right and centre, but a few wins certainly won’t make me forget.

As improbable as it is if we were winning games abd moving up the table I would forgive players board and manager but we haven’t looked too 6-8 for a long time.

Just had this conversation with my mate. No uplift as it’s not like we are calling for Frank to be sacked and the cloud is lifted, it’s just an inevitability. The only cloud lift would be if the board were removed.

When he is sacked we can’t wait two weeks for a new manager. It needs to be a quick turnaround.

Im not sure I agree if we get some wins and move up the table we would forget the board stuff somewhat.

And if we thought that Soton was a 6 pointer, we are away to West Ham next week! Lose that and it really is game over I think.

With all the toxic atmosphere around the club at the moment, I think we should be more worried about Frank resigning than debating whether or not we sack him.

I disagree mate he picks the team and has say on signings, Gana is his signing and he has been in the midfield of a poor side. Frank is on the hook for this hat other prom manager would have out seen this.

We were literally a millimetre from making it 2-2 & at that point I really believe we could have gone on from there. The third is simply us chasing the game at the death, I’ve no issues with it being 3-1 at that point chasing it.

As mentioned above, Myko had a huge chance that came a bit too quick to him & the defender blocked it + gray hit the post. We also played 60 odd minutes with Maupay who cannot work in that system unless he has a presence with him.

I will concede baileys point that they had a lot of time on the ball.  However the 2 times they scored before the penalty came from individual defending errors by letting their man get around them on the outside.

United have been seriously good lately & we made them work for that.

I agreed the performance was better but you say yourself defending errors for the goals and not finishing some chances. I know it’s small margins but we need this to improve enough that we get the win. We are doing that 1 in 6 times under frank. That’s relegation form. We are running out of games I don’t want us to go down.
