Kevin Gameiro and Wissam Ben Yedder.

All I know is that Ben Yedder destroys me in FIFA17! I think either would be great, but Ben Yedder at 27 is 3 years younger than Gameiro. -
Hajduk Split (Europa League Leg 2) [Away] Thursday August 24th

Pickford Holgate Keane Williams Baines Besic Davies Morgan (easier to spell) Sandro DCL Lookman Bench of Jags, Gana, Rooney, Martina, Gylfi, Mirallis and Stek gives quality to come in if game isn't in control I think RK is happy enough with a 1-0 0-0 or 0-1 and we play some depth and rest some legs to put our best XI against Chelsea. Due to his age and continuing integration, I think Pickford goes, otherwise I'd not be surprised to see Stek get the nod -
City looked better with 10, they played their asses off. Say what you want about them, but Aguero, Silva and Debruyne are a freaking nightmare of class and guile in the attacking half. That feels like 4-5 men there. Disappointed we didn't finish them, but Jesus, that's such a good squad. It's a point, I'll take it.

About same in Montgomery. Should be in next 15-20 mins, there is kinda weird tint to the sky already. My dog doesn't seem to really care. Maybe if she looks at the sun with will fix her cataracts?

Hajduk Split (Europa League Leg 1) [Home] Thursday August 17th

Keane and Pickford both look to be excellent long-term investments. Didn't realize Keane was such a good passer. Can't pick a single player who had a poor game, and Mirallas had best game I've seen from him in a while, opening spaces and some clever switches, movement and passes. None of the subs really did anything for me - nothing poor, nothing noteworthy - aside from ensuring we didn't have to play with 10. -

The kicked down the ad boards, and looked like they were going to come on the pitch. At least one didm but he got carted off with a quickness. Looked very scary for a bit, but they stayed in the stands once the boards were down, thankfully. -

Lookman has been a straight up pain in the ass down the right side today -

Absolutely. I'd like to see DCL go in at 60-70. Either for Rooney, or have Rooney drop back into the 10 spot and let Klassenn rest -
If not for the hair, beard and complexion, you would swear they are kin!

In Slovakia he had footing problems, his first touch let him down a couple times, and the timing with his teammates isn't there yet. But his workrate was a pleasant surprise. He was all over the place, in the box, tracking back behind midfield, both to pick up the ball and attempt tackles. I'd be willing to bet that in his 70 mins, he covered more ground than anyone besides Gana and the wingbacks - or it sure seemed that way. Looking forward to seeing what he does when he's truly settled and match fit.

There is something special about him. Nothing really stands out to me - not a great defender, passer, shooter doesn't have electric pace...but he never looks out of place no matter what he is doing. OK 2 exceptions - his composure is off the charts, even for a seasoned vet, and his one-touch passing is excellent. Which I guess all adds up to him having a very good football brain. He isn't a world beater, or a player that strikes fear into the opposition, where they specifically plan for him - or at least I don't think. But one minute he is charging down the left flank pulling the LB out, then a moment later he recovering possession in the middle of the park with an interception or crunching tackle, then moments later he is salvaging a wayward clearance or pass at the touch line with tidy one-touch pass and go to retain possession and open the field. He has got to be a pain the ass to play against. He doesn't seem fazed by any pass, dribble, shot or tackle. I saw a good quote from USMNT coach Bruce Arena about what made Clint Dempsey special - "He isn't afraid to try shit" That's the overwhelming sense I get from Davies and Lookman. Davies just usually looks disinterested - doesn't matter if he just got beat, fouled or did something spectacular, he just brushes his hair back a little and his expression never changes. Maybe it's because he is so young, and he just "doesn't know what he doesn't know", but he just always looks like he belongs on the pitch, no matter what the position or formation. I just hope all that continues as he grows. Hard to believe he just turned 19. I wonder what the dynamic would be if he and Lookman were playing the same side where they could link up? Both play a little bit of unorthodox/playground ball - Lookman more so. It might be a horrible dynamic, or it may lead to a lot of unpredictable creativity between them.

Mark do you know if this is going to be viewable here in the States in some form or fashion?

The pitch is slick. They have slipped a few times, but Sandro and Rooney have both gone down in dangerous areas when they stop and their feet slide out from under them. Klaassen looks deft on the ball, but is basically missing - just not getting enough touches. We are controlling the ball and game, but aren't generating chances: - Bad Pitch/footing in crucial areas - A team with the bus parked - A front three that not only haven't played together much, but never together in this formation. No one is really playing poor, no one is really standing out - but Davies. The lad is just a footballer, wherever you put him on the pitch.... I can see Lookman/Mirallis and DCL coming in to bring some fresh legs and pace, but I'd expect Barry to come in around the 80th min, especially if there is still no score.

US Politics/Biden Presidency (Trump-free zone)

This is correct, and is somewhat of a 4th category of Trump voters. Those that feel HRC/Obama did a horrible job with foreign policy, and cringed at the course she would take. I didn't even vote in the GOP primary, because I was underwhelmed at the candidates. Jeb Bush might have been the best, but frankly, I think America had just had enough of the Bush family - and think many thought we had enough of the Clinton's as well. Out of 300 million people, we would up choosing between those 2. I disliked Trump less than I disliked Hilary. The media and the far left have not done themselves any favors in the wake of the election behaving like spoiled brats who didn't get their way. Basically saying they lost because 62 million Americans are stupid because we don't agree with them. Instead of really looking at "why" people voted for Trump, or just as important, why people DIDN'T vote for HRC, there was this national eye-roll, and the OMG, look what the unwashed ignorant masses did! Honestly, it's insulting as hell, and surly has has alienated a lot of folks from Democrats. At the end of the day, rational discourse is dying if not dead. And social media is certainly a huge influence. But damn being moderate, on either side of the isle, is being demonized by both sides, because we are becoming so polarized.
