I thought he acquitted himself very well for his first introduction to the team, in what was not his normal position against an on point Liverpool team, and up against Mane, not a to difficult first game was it.

He was very poor today his touch for what ever reason deserted him, and his decision making was off. I do get what Haf is getting at when he said he was hiding, just maybe the terminology is misleading, there were times when he was static and showing no movement to find space to receive the ball, but in his defence he was not the only one, I mentioned during the match a few times there was a distinct lack of movement in front of the back 4 and Allan, which you could see was frustrating Keane and Allan, I can only put this down to tiredness, I believe that work rate required to chase Liverpool when they were in possession took it’s toll on some players with Gomes being one, so when we eventually won the ball back some where looking for a little breather and not always willing to move and receive the ball immediately through exhaustion of working so hard chasing the ball and players down. And added to that for Gomes his poor first touch and decision making it turned into a very poor game for him, I thought he should have been replaced at halftime but this is only my opinion.

For me there was no malice intended in Pickford’s challenge, it was a typical keeper challenge of take everything out in front of you, keepers aren’t accustomed to having to make tackles in the same way as outfield players, so will appear clumsy in those situations but not violent conduct. So if the status quo remains I’d call it a right result Van Dyck out for weeks, another plus in our season to get into a possible top 4 finish.

This is a hard one some good performances today I’m struggling between Pickford Allan and Keane, in the end went for Pickeane.

I enjoyed the fact that we fought back twice from a goal down, that’s the sign of a never give up attitude which we have been missing since Moyes left. Also offside is offside if you want to win things you take those big moments in your favour and relish them, they will eventually even themselves out over a season, so I celebrate and love that decision as an Evertonian, because it will keep our season on track and hurt them and the teams a round us, one of those decisions every game in our favour wouldn’t go a miss for me.
