He saves us as an individual more points than he costs us, already this season in the first 2 games he has saved us at least a minimum of 2 points possibly 3 with 2 top class saves against Spurs, which many keepers in this league wouldn’t have made I believe. What will cost us more points this season is shit defending that we witnessed from Mina, that’s what people should be more concerned about, not Pickford he’s more consistent than our CB’s.

I would send him out on loan this season to hopefully to get plenty of game time for his development, then if that went well bring him back to work with Rodriguez and Allan. I realise that he is going to struggle to get into the team with our 3 new signings, but let’s not forget 2 are 29 years old and may only give us 2-3 years max, Davies is a young man who we should keep and let him develop in the presence of these top players. Buying older players and selling young up and coming players isn’t going to get us a settled team let’s make the most of these older talents and allow them to impart their talents on our younger prospects instead of selling them.

Exactly how I saw it especially your point on the overlap, he was the only player from us busting a gut to get back, you could quite clearly see he diverts his run to the left of diangana, why do that, because he’s not going to get to Diangana he’s expecting like everyone who witnessed the goal that Mina is going to stand his ground and try to block him at 30-35 yards out which would more than likely result in a pass to which Allan was trying to cover, but Mina did the unthinkable and backed off his man for 15-20 yards allowing the shot from 18 yards, that was piss poor defending regardless of what happened leading up to that moment he was in position to do his job and he didn’t do it, could Pickford have done better I don’t know possibly, I’d like to see it from behind was Mina shielding his few I don’t know, but the shot took me totally by surprise.
