  1. You do realise I was being sarky... Hence the edit. The others being dropped doesn't dilute the fact that origi was chosen ahead of him . Origi looks a player, a real player. Mirallas looks an option upfront.
  2. Back to lukaku.... shite again tonight. Suppose he didn't miscontrol it though.
  3. Not every player compliments another - absolute tosh. Mirallas for example, as many assists as he had was at time ridiculously greedy, same as Gerry. Did Romelu work for the team the way Naismith did? No. Not every player is as selfless as the likes of McCarthy and Barry. McCarthy in particular covered km's covering his team mates, you just dont see it.... gettin tiring this now.
  4. Hilarious this. Takes him to near November, he will blame british media and demand his move, cut price etc etc
  5. I think you need to grow up in all honesty, now "McCarthy is the reason for Colemans success" - I didn't say that either. Start posting credible posts and stop making things up. I said I look to the player who gives him license to do what he does.
  6. Just nipped out for a haircut and missed the majority of this... a few points:- Not appreciating a player like McCarthy shows a little bit of ignorance or lack or understanding. The same happened with Chelsea - Frank Lampard won player of the year two years on the trot with Makelele arguably being the one who gave him the foundation to grab the headlines. At the end of the years lampards 20 yarders stick in the mind, not the steady week in week out perfromances. I would sooner trust a toffeetalk player of the year which is indexed and tallied after each game versus a quick pulse check at the end of the year. The toffeetalk table does not lie! 10 year old kids love seamus, he runs with the ball and scored a few goals. I look at the man who gave him license to do that.
  7. Club president Florentino Pérez infamously poured scorn on Makélelé's footballing abilities and proclaimed that Makélelé would not be missed: “ We will not miss Makélelé. His technique is average, he lacks the speed and skill to take the ball past opponents, and ninety percent of his distribution either goes backwards or sideways. He wasn't a header of the ball and he rarely passed the ball more than three metres. Younger players will arrive who will cause Makélelé to be forgotten.[7]
  8. Laughing my head off here!!! Coleman had a very good season no question, I think the "thinking fan" would maybe have McCarthy above him. I'm gonna tell James to grow an afro and learn the pirouet - he may get the recognition he deserves.
  9. McCarthy was our most consistent performer throughout the season bar none - his minimum level game was above anyone elses minimum level game. You just haven't got excited by him, thats fine - it sometimes take a little change in mindset to appreciate other players attributes and what they bring to the game. Barry was quoted as saying McCarthy was up there with the best he had played with even at the age of 23 - "Until you play with someone week in week out it’s hard to judge how good somebody is," he continued. "I had obviously played against James before and knew he was a really good player, but to train and play alongside him for a whole season you realise that for someone so young he is so mature."
  10. yep, repeat and rinse.... be interesting to see if he plays later.
  11. Yes the 4-1 defeat at Anfield was all McCarthy's fault and had nothing to do with the ridiculous high defensive line we played which allowed them the expose the half fit alcaraz and jags, in fact here is your post actually stating as such... Jagielka + Alcaraz = no pace. See fourth goal. There wasn't much else we could have done tonight. But that partnership is a recipient for disaster. Jagielka was absolutely shocking, it's always been the same if he hasn't got pace covering him he gets exposed
  12. Until I see a Roberto Interview with the following: "Georgios is a phenomenal player with an incredible appetite for the game, he would be an unbelievable asset to the group." I'm not going to pay any attention to it.
  13. Not written off, but for me is not in the bracket he has been placed. He is not a top end striker and never will be because of his technical limitations - mainly control and touch. You seen signs that defenders sussed him out after his initial 8 goals in 10 games. They stopped allowing him space, you seen moments when they did give him that freedom like Arsenal and he punished them. He needs defenders to "not mark" him tightly. Sorry but thats just not going to happen, Scott Dann did a number on him as did Lovren in the return fixtures. He can be a tremendous impact sub or striker that plays off a second man. He stated that he wants Fellaini up front with him for Belgium so he can get space... as he doesn't get any when he's marked. It says alot about the player. He should be the point man for the attacking midfielders Belguim have to hold it up to allow them to join in attack and play one two's with their talented AM's, its not happening because he can't do it.
  14. Football is a very fickle world. Last year our great performance was all down to our loans "Lukaku, Barry and Deulofeu - especially Lukaku" - yeah we heard every pundit and non fan say it, and that we will struggle next season without them... They just kinda missed James McCarthy in all of this, for me the single most important player we had. Not for his passing, goals, or anything that a glancing fan would look for, but for his ability to make the team play. He allowed full backs to bomb on, he allowed Barkley to express himself, he stopped the other team playing. He basically did all the dirty work... when he didn't play we missed him so much. Crystal Palace for example we were 2-0 down, he came on 2 minutes later 2-1, we scored another in 86th minute and despite conceding another you could see our midfield get a grip. Its the sort of stuff that just irritates me no end.
  15. Potential being "mentally" - not technically. Technically I think the lad is very good, he just needs the confidence to believe in his ability. As repeated elsewhere regarding Rom his technical development scope is limited - he is what he is going to be. Mentally the lad needs a bit of TLC. He will be a very good player.
  16. FIFA never said its inconclusive "Broadcaster Tenfield said the video was not “conclusive” and even brought up Sir Geoff Hurst’s controversial goal in the 1966 World Cup Final." http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/luis-suarez-bite-fifa-official-3765494#ixzz35jv6Uaba An unnamed FIFA boss said he must face severe sanction... BTW lugnao and the rest of the Uraguayian scum need finoing for the absolute nonsense they are coming out with, the6y are balming english media and the italians for beings snitches....
  17. I think the deal will be up to £8m. £8m is nothing for a 24 year old midfielder, he has yet to relaise his potential, he will only do that away from Man United IMO. Their fans are a disgrace when it comes to young lads coming through:- it starts like this.... 1. "You heard about this young lad playing for reserves!!! (Cleverley, Wellbeck, Ravel, Gibson, Januazaj) - telling ya, he's the next Scholes or Beckham" 2. "He played today, looked amazing, telling ya now we need to play him every week" 3. Above player gets £50k a week deal - has a few poor games 4. "get rid, he's useless" - fans boo, slate the player, abuse on twitter etc etc. Player plays well and still gets stick, they want Barkley. 5. Player leaves and joins new club and feels relaxed to play football at the level they know they can.
  18. Maradona, always shorter than kids my own size but I was a nippy and pretty ace dribbler. I stayed like that till 13 when I jibbed footy off, never got picked due to size which was a joke, I was far better than most but a lot smaller. Didn't really play teenage years, focussed on golf, shot up and when I played again at 18 it was a different player. Physically so much stronger, good in the air, but I don't care what anyone says, low centre of gravity when running with a ball feels like cheating. Played at west Cheshire one level and really I think that if I stuck at it properly at 21 the Welsh league would have been my level, but I played half pissed from night before.
  19. Keown talks shite, it wasn't a good pen IMO. Fair play though, hit target.
  20. Yeah I enjoyed his knowledge, he got a little too passionate at times and it caused conflict with some but overall he had a good input. All the best Nik.
  21. Uraguay team mate trying to get him to cover it up when trying to show ref the bite Mark.
