  1. Basically who do I think will be best for us, bony... IF lukaku somehow improves markedly then he could be that man. For me bony is a player who could go on to be exceptional. lukaku I don't believe will improve as much. The rest of it is all financial, we need a man who scores goals and links play. Bony is that man.
  2. He's far better linking up play than Lukaku, better in the air depsite being a few inches shorter. He just does not get knocked off the ball - at all, he uses his strength whereas Lukaku seems off balance. Give Lukau 5 years - give him 10 years - that touch of his is here to stay. Lukaku is quicker, Bony has a better strike on him. In short Bony is ideal for our play.
  3. This, i'm generally getting tired of Rooney - all his sulks, demands, and all round attitude really. It's always all about him, whinging at being played out of position, whinging about not being number 1 striker, moaning that players being signed aren't good enough. Now taking to facebook to whinge about accusations of something to doi with extra training. I much preferred the player that had golden Umbro boots, drove a blue Mini, was awe struck at David Beckham, took on Turkey and decided to get involved with the scrap at half time. Somewhere along the line he forgot about enjoying the game.
  4. Yeah and for me he is worth it, the ACN would bother me but he is a complete forward.
  5. £15m is about right. Its his lower level performances and games where defenders have his number that concern me. Strikers good games vs bad games should not be determined by the reliability of them "controlling a football and being able to find a team mate" - Lukaku's are. I can handle him heading over, missing the target every now and then, but I just can't accept a footballer without the ability to look after the ball when it needs looking after.
  6. I'm certain Barca appreciate our assistance with Gerry, but I don't think its going to be so easy to get the players in. The fact that they took Gerry a little bit early for the first team suggests we may get very raw players. We will see, either way its positive, they just better leave our manager alone.
  7. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2009/may/23/wayne-rooney-champions-league-final-manchester-united
  8. Ferguson played him there many a time. He can play there.
  9. What? It's as clear as day, closely marked he can't operate, yeah they tightly marked him and he can't deal with it. You want us to spend top dollar on a forward with limitations on parts of his game that will allow other teams to nullify him? He scored 15 goals for us, I would expect any half decent forward to have done that for us last season. I really do not see the massive attraction with him.
  10. It's all very well looking a good player when things are going your way, when the team play nice easy through balls and you aren't needing to show other fundamental attributes. This has been my beef with lukaku since late last year. This has nothing to do with ronaldo, who is effectively a one man team. Lukakus contribution barring goals is not good enough. A modern day Tony cottee is not what we need, at £20m plus I'll pass.
  11. Rooneys discipline positionally was the problem. He didn't like playing on the left, he didn't like Baines telling him what to do either.
  12. His touch was shite yet again. Another game where when things aren't happening he goes missing. I've seen this a good few times before.
  13. We would cheer if anyone scored for England. With Rooney you are watching a player in decline. He knows it and his frustration is there to see. Is he one of the most talented? Yes he is. Does that mean ignore form? No. He is off form and not fit. In a major competition that is a no no.
  14. Rooney being played is just blind faith, the other night his positional discipline was shite, his head was all wrong, as soon as he realises it's not all about him the better. Rooney is just the king with no clothes, we seen it all before with Michael Owen.
  15. I think strachan nailed the point, Origi made things happen. Showed appetite, I've seen Rom do what he did today on several occassions for Everton.
  16. Wish we could have bought origi on when lukaku had one of those games. For me that is why lukaku is not worth the money. The difference between his good game and poor game is too great.
  17. Margaret Aspinall, chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, said the families had agreed that the perpetrator's name should not be made public. Someone will find it out, won't take a genius - anyone who worked with him will leak the name. Idiot, will receive more punishment than a sacking ever will. Do people actually think they will get away with stuff like this?
  18. See Joey Barton took it upon himself to try and slate Dixon as a pundit on twitter. I like Dixon, think he's very astute.
  19. Cersei makes watching all the better, Lena Headey in 300 was stunning too... a big fav of mine.
  20. Enjoyed that episode, I prefer the lannister storylines. Ray Donovan is ace.
  21. Exactly this. Look at France last night, a team that would have benefitted from Nasri's "ability" - however did they miss him? Nope. Very strong. I'm not saying Rooney is a trouble maker, but he has FAR too much to say IMO. Standing over free kicks, taking corners, stealing ball off Barkley, running over to the line to compain about how he was finding it on the left. It all smacked of the over indulged school captain who thinks he is above everyone else. He comes out with nonsense about it being all about the team - I do not buy that for a second, he is on crusade to prove his doubters wrong and it is manifesting itself all wrong. The ego is getting in the way. If the Ox is fit I would play him or Lallana on the left, Rooney can watch and get angry - I hope it means that he finally starts asking questions off himself rather than everyone else.
  22. kinda like the 1998 world cup, the Nike poster boy for Brazil was Ronaldo http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/world/events/1998/worldcup/news/1998/07/13/nike_ronaldo/ No way in a million years should Ronaldo have played in that final, a seizure of any description leaves the sufferer "exhausted" for hours. Apart from that it was a massive risk to the players health. My feeling was at the time that Nike had an awful lot to do with it.
  23. The cross was decent - in the corridor of uncertainty, but lets get this right "he is an international footballer", thats what is expected at that level. He had 3 shots 2 snatched and one blazed over the bar after he took it off Barkley who ran for the return. At international level thats not good enough, Sturridge had 3 shots, 2 on target 1 goal. Simple as that.
  24. Rooney for me as a player is disappointing... for all that massive potential he had at 17, all I see now is an overpaid, arrogant, prima donna who doesn't look after himself. He was always going to be a very good player as a "minimum" - he already was at that stage at 16! - since then apart form the odd awesome performance at club level you hear more about transfer requests, fall outs, fitness issues etc etc. He came to united a technically better player than Ronaldo, more polished, hard working, physically more robust. What happened since then??? Ronaldo took his talents and worked hard, got rid of his flat track bully tag and became the best.
