  1. At the right price the lad knows where the net is. No doubting that.
  2. Hmmm, so if Steven Gerrard was given a knighthood they would close that as well? Due to it not being LFC related?
  3. Jose Mourinho has been given a boost after Liverpool were ruled out of the race for Everton star Ross Barkley. The England ace says he won't move to Anfield, but is open to offers from Man United, Man City and Chelsea. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/387075/Chelsea-Transfer-Zone-Cech-out-if-Courtois-is-No-1-Barkley-transfer-boost-Khedira-blow Ha ha - where do they get this nonsense
  4. I think Tim Howard has done more to further Everton commercially in 120 minutes than that lot at the club have done in 15 years... I'm being serious. You would like to think that the likes of Elstone and co have thought "hey up! Obama ringing Tim up, US sports starts tweeting about him - lets get his club involved in this.... can we maximise our exposure in having the US hero in our team in a country where the game is likely to take off"
  5. I think our cutting edge was what was missing at times last season, quite often it was the final ball, be it Mirallas, Gerry, Rom. I actually like Naismith as a finisher - very assured and composed. By all accounts this lad can take a man on and has end product - quite likes to get stuck in too.
  6. Oh how I laughed when the mods on RAWK closed all threads relating to the biggest on the pitch controversy this year involving their best player - absolutely hilarious. Some of their fans were outraged at the censorship - rightly so. They were directed to a thread titled "World cup Group D" where they were allowed to talk about it... Maybe the Mods just knew that outsiders would zone in on their forum and read some of the most blinkered posts ever created. Lets be honest, as soon as he leaves in a cloud of "Barca are the biggest team in the world" etc etc you will see some shirt burning pictures - statements of "how we stood by that racists thug" etc etc.
  7. £20m - a lot of money, but for me if he is a technically proficient player who can operate anywhere across the front line and scores goals and is very good at creating chances then i'm in. Maybe £15m will clinch it... As I stated with the Lukaku transfer - its all round play i'm interested in along with goals for our front man.
  8. Love this link with Barca me. Just hope Enrique is a great manager and is there for 10 years.
  9. I think its very easy to look at the likes of Cleverley and Rodwell and think "not all that, can't hack it, over rated at a young age etc etc" Some young players are often over burdened with "tags" and find themselves in a position where they have gone from youth team star to a player the fans are looking to replace an experienced campaigner. I look at Barkley and think "what would have happened to him if Martinez never got hold of him" - he was on a down hill spiral, a player who looked like he may end up in league one due to "incorrect man management for his type of footballing personality" - shall we say. Lets be honest even with a great season for Everton, Hodgson proved that certain managers just aren't right for certain players. I also look at players like Arteta, Pienaar, Gibson, who just needed that move to a "family atmosphere" club and to play in front of fans who will give them love if they give us commitment. I honestly believe there is a player there in Rodwell, just like I believe so in Cleverley. The club that gets them and taps into that potential will get £20m worth of talent on the cheap. I also believe that to be the case with Danny Welbeck, but I don't want to send the forum into meltdown - i've had a long hard look at him and I honestly feel that with some specific coaching on his decision making and help with composure he can be a very good player. As an athlete he is very gifted. If we had a cautious manager I would not be in for these players - we don't though, we have a manager who is a very clever psychologist and motivator - look what he did with Callum McManaman and Maloney - players who are very much "confidence players". This is the difference between Moyes and Martinez for me. Give Moyes a player with limited ability and he will relish getting 100% effort and discipline. Give Martinez a player with plenty of talent and he will get them playing with 100% confidence and freedom. Both have their merits, but the latter is what wins trophies.
  10. A fit Rodwell at £5m is steal. That's the big if. Martinez will uncover that footballer we seen at 17/18. Who in my eyes was destined for the top of the game.
  11. If he gets fit, the lad is a beast, runs like a train... a mass passenger one (sorry!!!) I think he falls under the Rodwell, Gibson category tbh.
  12. Is there a mass rail system in operation in Brazil???
  13. I think this could be the tournament that will spark USA being a major player in the next 10-15 years - its been really positive exposure for the game in the country. With the college infrastructure and pool of athletes along with facilities I expect big things.
  14. For one we don't even know what impact he has had on coleman - my guess is a big one. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2013/04/16/stubbs-hibbo-an-example
  15. I'm not in the business of paying a player £25k a week to do nothing for sentimental reasons. But I am in the business of promoting loyalty - he's made over 300 appearances for us. I'm pretty sure he's on a far reduced contract. He gives us identity and is a big personality by all accounts - a camudgeon who likes things done right. 'To be honest, I’ve always enjoying working with the younger lads,' Hibbert said. 'I’ve been with the reserves quite a bit and I enjoy that part of the game. 'I just want the best for Everton and the young lads that are coming through, I will try and mentor them the best I can.'
  16. I think Mirallas and Lukaku both looked like they had somethging to prove - in fairness their pace at that stage of a frantically played game was almost like putting a fresh Mike Tyson in the ring with Frank Bruno after Frank had just done 10 rounds with Lennox Lewis. I take my hat off to all the players who completed 120 minutes last night - it was insane.
  17. Think he will be doing coaching badges and will be on some low contract.
  18. OGS cost £1.5m..... If lukaku is available for £8m I'd snap their hands off. But he ain't.
  19. That's how west Bromwich used him as an impact sub, it's not the recipe for success in a team where he is supposed to be starting.
  20. We could buy lukaku to play the games where the other teams knackered... Was a good finish there. Let's not get too carried away, he's playing against heavy legs.
  21. If the shite sign him for £9m I'll be sick.
  22. Twitter is on fire raving about Tim. Seriously he's been amazing.
