  1. would a new stadium not re-generate the area? Making the need for the existing transport lines to be utilised moreso? Only on match days would you see a more frequent, higher carriage service in place
  2. He is carrying the can for United midfield last season. Carrick was shocking - Fellaini looked scared, they were set up with players not in space to take a pass and all of a sudden Cleverley is the fall guy because he doesn't dribble, beat men and do it on his own. I've seen him have outstanding games for United. He relies on players around him "moving" - under Moyes that did not happen.
  3. You can argue that Cleverley is an England international with a premier league medal who is a good deal younger than Pienaar was... plus he's coming from united who seem to be able to sell such players for a few mill more. Regardless, the whole hoo har about him is embarrssing - there have been far worse players to escape criticism. It reminds me of the time when Jason Lee was mercilessly bullied into having zero confidence and pretty much destroyed him as a player. Its ridiculous. Lets just hope Barkley doesn't run into a bad spell and get slated left right and centre, cos he is someone who proabably is supceptible to such criticism.
  4. Lacina has made Ivory Coast squad, be interesting to see how he does.
  5. Pienaar was sold for £4m with 6 months left on contract. £5-£8m would be about right IMO - remember how much Boo boy Henderson developed with the right manager who instilled confidence. I'm with Ten, the more I think about this, the more I like the idea. Has the hallmarks of the Arteta, Pienaar, signings where they never found the right club then came to Everton and looked like bargains. At Man United if you are the "next Paul Scholes" and fall short of that you are deemed a failure, those lot want instant "world class" performances - trust me he ain't that bad. People victimised him for England because he epitomised the "Play for United get in the England team"... they need to look at Smalling for that.
  6. I seen a proper player a few years ago - good energy, could control tempo. It seems that he has become a boo boy whilst Carrick lives off his good season two years ago and Fellaini has offered nothing. He's probably in the same boat as Rodwell - two players technically sound, well coached, who just lost the confidence to express themselves. These are the types of players that make you realise how confidence is so important and that reputations can be destroyed quicker than ability actually drops. He's not someone i'm overly excited about signing, but very interested to see how the right manager, fresh start and bit of belief can do for him. He could be an £5m-£8m bargain... Ferguson rated him, Capello rated him, Hodgson rates him despite all the OTT criticism - I'm all for this move, its a no brainer at the cost. We won't lose on him.

    Everton v Man City

It's not just us, Man City & Red Cafe were up in arms about his commentary. It all points to an unhealthy influence that Sky have on the game. Still disgusted by it. The very fact I couldn't have got up for winning is a reason I would not go, leave it to someone who was motivated to win.
  8. At times he has shown unbelievable flair and pace, it's as though he's on the brink of becoming amazing. He's been excellent at times, frustrating at others but he is going to be class.
  9. That part of us will never go... nor should it. Proper old school pocket money hobby.
  10. Think Deschamps is being a bit "moysie-ish" - being a hard working, lesser talented player the likes of Nasri must infuriate him. Then again, he captained France to two major championships so who I am I to say that... but you know what I mean
  11. These are the sorts of things that kids today just don't do enough of. Before they know it they are 15 and just have a back catalogue of FIFA world cup rip off games that they no longer player or sold on ebay for £5 a year later. You can try and buy them on ebay Mike, I know you can get some such things pretty cheap...in fact yes, for less that £10... do it!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=1970+world+cup+coin+collection
  12. Yep, crazy that lot. They have left Nasri at home for this world cup - funny in a way because he's an odious little sod, but no doubting he should be there.
  13. That's the life they live isn't it, looking at Moyes you would never think of him as a sporting millionaire but the reality is that he is probably worth more money than Chris Hoy, Bradley Wiggins, Jessica Ennis and Mo Farrah combined.... quite frightening really.
  14. and Distin... he can be told in no uncertain terms with both languages...
  15. Gonna do the panini world cup sticker album for my son, he's only approaching 5 months but it will be ace to be able to give it for him to keep. Gutted that Barkley isn't showing on the England squad (Cole, Andros Townsend are). Loved doing Panini sticker books when I was a kid, loved the smell of the stickers the lot, immedialtely opening the pack as soon as I walked outside the shop.
  16. haha brilliant Distin. What a joke that he never got one cap, Boumsong got 27....
  17. Martinez getting in first with the potential to charm the lads pants off is a great tactic - he will be told he will be number 1 striker - something that Wenger can't assure him with Giroud in his squad. I think he could be a potential trouble causer, but the squad has such a good balance that i'm sure he would behave himself. %Remy himslef must have seen the way we played and thought - I fancy a bit of that. Here's hoping. Be made up to get him.
  18. With the inclusion of Smalling and Jones i'm surprised that Barkley's place wasn't taken by Ravel Morrison, Cleverely, he managed to get Wilshire in there - how I do not know. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2014/article-2627460/Roy-Keane-Man-United-duo-Chris-Smalling-Phil-Jones-arent-good-play-England.html Got to say, the man says what most of us think.
  19. Vidic is making excuses - of course those players stopped playing for Moyes, I'm Moyes biggest critic but i'm not daft enough to think for one minute that professional footballers with massive ego's are going to listen and adhere to the in structions of a man who lets be honest was clearly out of his depth from the get go. Being a Man United player does not make you any different from the Chelsea players who got two or three managers sacked. The players can sniff out a manager who isn't going to improve them and tries to upset the apple cart to make a point of who is boss. They collectively behave in a manner which more or less says "This is what you are asking, now look how awful the tactics are" He may not produce a book that will blow the lid on one of the most pathetic defense of a premier league title ever seen - yes even worse than Blackburns even though they got 3 more points - as united the previous year galloped home, Blackburn stumbled home. There will be noise that comes out against Moyes - my guess is that Rio will be that man. Like him or not, Rio has been one of uniteds most successful players who captained the club. He is also not backwards in coming forwards when he feels he is on the wrong side of things... he will do a follow on book which will detail the england fallout/John Terry incident with his brother and particularly the Moyes management. It will be an interesting read. BTW, not sure why he was told he wasn't getting a new contract after the game in the changing rooms, therefore missing his opportunity to say goodbye to the fans... bit naughty.... payback for something???
  20. Was having a bevvie with Dave Nugents dad the other night, he said set up there is great, Pearson is a top bloke and they are trying to reward the lads with right contracts, Nugent is out of contract and they want him to stay. Said his lad would play for us for nothing. Always wanted to him in an Everton shirt, he'd run through a brick wall for us.
  21. I'm guessing we ain't for sale... call me a sceptic....
  22. wow sarcastic belter of the day award goes to you then... seen any of our rumoured buyers? Apparently we are up for sale... http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa--american-billionaires-7109938 Ray Davis supposedly being the one... Larry Ellison being the other who talksport are stating is buzzing round the stock exchange. But the strong rumour is that the club has in principle been sold.
