What was everyone's opinion on Shawcross? He always gets rave reviews but I honestly thought that he is just a big lad, nothing else about him looked that good - obviously I have only seen him a handful of times but never been impressed.

What's wrong with Nugent?

So, this is a difficult one. On one hand he cost £60,000 and looks good for the money...but...the last few games he has just looked like a boy playing amongst men. Now I really like him and every part of me is willing him on even when he makes mistakes but he is clearly out of his depth playing as a winger. However, game time will help him improve... I would prefer to see Pienaar on the right wing and Gueye on the left.

Went for Distin, he has his critics but proved them wrong with this performance. I was most disappointed with the atmosphere though, anyone else think it was very quiet?

Any rumours of David Nugent signing for us yet? I still haven't given up hope...

Don't want to stir anything here but this is typical, you don't know the ins and outs to comment on what can be done but you have enough information to know that the board were the ones who messed this up?

Hibbert. Absolutely solid performance, looking very good going forward. Don't care what 90% of Everton fans (aka Hibbert bashers) say, they will always look for the negatives over the positives with him. Baines was awesome too, showed that he can turn it on for Capello. After that performance, Jagielka should be benched. He looked like a new born deer when he had the ball, very nervous and it looked like it rubbed off on a usually solid Distin. Worst performance came from Moyes (not often I say that) but Rodwell on the right wing shows he is losing his grip by being forced to play players out of position.

Couldn't disagree more. No excuses now for Bily, he wasn't in the world cup or the Russian league yet he looks the same, maybe worse, than last year.

This story has some similarities to Pienaar with both having 1 year left on their contracts. The big difference here is it shows we do have some ambition in not needing to cash in on Pienaar (convince him to stay with European football), where as Taylor knows Newcastle don't have the ability ambition to qualify for Europe. I would take Taylor in a heartbeat, but would he actually get a game with Jags & Heitinga in defence?

There is no way that Pienaar will be sold, he either signs or runs down his contract. I remember saying the same thing in pre-season that he has been fishing for a transfer since before the world cup but nobody is willing to buy him except the media. I just hope some club doesn't prove me wrong.

Finished watching all episodes of 'The Big Bang Theory' too, very good show. I can imagine it is not to everybody's liking
