  1. Virtually everything that drew me to supporting this club has vanished in the last few seasons. They truly lack character and fight, and while I'm of the opinion that there needs to be a clearing out, it seems to me that it'll be hard to attract players based on our current run of form.

We'll attract players by paying stupid wages.

  2. Simple really, next time you buy a match ticket......just pay for the last ten minutes of the game.It seems like a fair arrangement.

Your only probably going to see 10 minutes of effort.

Maybe pay the players and manager for effort put in, that should see a few of them catching the bus to Goodison.

Boils down to the man in charge.

Watford out fort us out played us, except for short periods of the game.

  3. He certainly has an unknown quality about him but I don't think I have ever seen a player lose the ball as often as he has done recently.

Unknown quality for sure, opponents really don't know what he's going to do when he has the ball, problem is I'm not sure Bolasie really knows.Exciting and frustrating at the same time.

    Hope it's a quick recovery.

  4. We showed passion for 10 minutes mate. No improvement at all.

We had attempts on target, we had a couple of corners that actually put some pressure on and the gap between deffence and midfield didn't look two miles wide......that's an improvement on recent.

  5. Well that was crap. Again. But because United are equally shite, we looked in no danger of going behind at all until Stekelenberg did that. Bear in mind that Koeman saw fit to 'send a message' by dropping Jags and Ross (perhaps fairly), yet Stekelenberg keeps his place after some shocking recent performances. That goal is on the manager's head, Joel has done nothing wrong when he has played this season, Stekelenberg is Koeman's man and he is fucking gash.

I'm trying to keep perspective, trying to tell myself Koeman needs a chance to build his own team here before we judge

Yep, he's building his own team.....starting with his goalkeeper.

  6. At least there is some passion at last.A few players need to get involved a bit more, mainly Bolasie and Mirallas.

Lukaku being fed nothing as usual, but as stated, there is some passion out there.

Barkley could pick up on the crowd, would like him to get more than a bit part 2nd half.Barry needs to watch it, can't see him not getting a second yellow.

Deffence pretty solid, both full backs doing well.

  7. From City, Chelsea, Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Spurs, who should be lower than us in the table?

I heard this question asked to an Evertonian on the radio yesterday. I'd like to hear some thoughts on here.

For me, them six teams have better players than us. I can't complain about 7th at the moment,

It's a good job for Leicester City they didn't think like this last season or thay may have finished mid-table, they certainly would have finished below us as we had a better squad on paper.

  8. Just read this article about kanchelskis being our best premier league player

    http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kanchelskis-evertons-best-premier-league-12206695

I think everyone on here can relate to the premier league era, (anytime before 84 is to early for me!) so who is your favourite/best premier league era player?

Mine would be be Arteta, we could really do with his skill, passing, set piece ability and creativity in our current team.

Kanchelskis was in the bookies outside Goodison on Saturday meeting fans.

There was a free £2 bet if you went in, I put mine on a 1-1 draw with Coleman to score with a header in the 89 the minute!

Ok, I made the last bit up!

  9. corner? Add crosses and through balls in general. Felt for Rom yesterday, as well as Ross and Gana. The latter 2 worked their asses off but Rom was so isolated it was embarrassing

I say, when we get a corner, refuse to take it, let them have a goal kick.....we have far more chance of scoring from that, than any corner I saw on Saturday.

Corners and crosses over hit or straight down the goalkeepers throat.Walking the dog down the park I see 15 year old 'girls' taking better corners.......and the sad thing is I'm not even joking!!!

McCarthy ! I hope he's not fit, because if he is, you'll never sell him.

Barkley, boy that lads got talent, but he needs a proper coach.

6 hour train ride home....and yes I'm fucking frustrated.

  10. Just got back from watching the match, been a while since I've watched them and felt so fuc%ing nervous as I did Saturday, surrounded by hundreds just as nervous and frustrated. Before the match I bought an Everton stress ball (squidgy ball for stress relief) for an Evertonian girl in the office......to be honest how I resisted using it during the match I'll never know.I was sitting not far behind Koeman, have to admit I really wanted to throw it at the back of his head, just to try and get him animated. Please show some passion........and then , get the players to show some passion, it's one of your jobs old boy!!

The taxi driver up to the ground was a 'Swansea' fan (couldn't believe it to be honest) had a very good knowledge of the game, thought they (Swansea) would get thrashed.

This is going to be painful, I don't know how much harm Martinez did, but it's going to take time. The players need to get the crowd on their side.

  11. Pop festival... sounds shite!

Anyway, back on topic, I like Koeman's straight talking - he's justified his comments on Lukaku in Dunc's link and came across very well on BBC2 last night also saw some very encouraging quotes from the corporate event. Many people like bullshitters and smoke being blown up their arses as long as it's what they want to hear... personally I don't.

    Spot on!

Funny how people are already writing off Koeman because he doesn't say what they want to hear. He's picked up what looked on paper a good squad only to find that some just aren't doing the business and others are injury prone or just injured. On top of that his best player wants away.

    Give the bloke a chance.

  12. Liverpool sold Saurez because he was too good for them.He wanted to win things and earn more money etc.

The best player at Everton at the moment is Lukaku, on his day he's unplayable and this is in front of a pretty average Everton team. It's a fact, and hardly the best kept secret in the premier league. The one player Swansea would like to be out for Saturday is Lukaku.

Koeman Knows from his Southampton days it's hard to keep your best players if they don't want to stay, if Lukaku wants away Koemans got to plan for life without him.If he can keep him till the summer we have a chance at top 8, without him and no decent replacement, mid-table would be more likely.

Lukaku has already done enough to sell himself, Koeman, if he wants a big move has got a hell of a lot to do at Everton first.

  13. Just got home from the parade in Holyhead today. I found it all very moving, and, as I get older it seems more and more poignant.

A Royal marine with a chestful of medals saw my beret, and he came over and thanked me for my service. I nearly burst into tears.

So I was wondering how everyone else feels.

Couldn't believe when it was mentioned on TV that it's 25 years since the end of the Gulf war !

Veterans from all wars and conflicts deserves thanks.A lad from my school was killed in Ireland, my Grandad survived Gallipoli and my wife lost her great Grandad with his two brothers in WW1, so my thoughts today were with them.Saving private Ryan was about 3 brothers getting killed in combat.Well it happened in my Wifes family, but there's no Hollywood blockbuster to remind us, just a block of marble with their names and ages on.Her Grandad, when his father was killed had to leave school at 12 and find work to help the family. In the 2nd world war in the last few days of the conflict a Jap mortar took off his left leg and put a steel plate in his head.Wars were not very kind to Frank !

The last 100 years or so have seen a great generation dissapear.

    We have to remember them.

What ever service you did Rubes, thanks !
