Undoubtedly but Im pretty sure Mirallas knows that he hasn't been firing on all cylinders this season I can understand a manager wanting to boost a players confidence but he has pretty much gone around the entire squad at some point this season with similar comments. I just think it starts to sound a little empty after a while, hence why I say I take this stuff with a pinch of salt

For a club like Everton £6M is an extortionate amount of money for a player his age, with his injury record and the fact we lose him to the African Cup of Nations. Baines is possibly the best left back in Europe and the £15M price tag was enough to fend off Man Utd . Kone is a long long way from being the best player in his position I totally agree that its way too early to write him off but the early signs are not good, although admittedly there have been mitigating circumstances

I think it just boils down to how you view the derby Obviously people who are of the opinion that you only get 3 points for a win whatever side you beat are perfectly correct to say lets just beat Palace and then worry about the next game. However for me the derby isn't just another game. I know that there is no guarantee that we will get anything against The Shite with McCarthy in the side but I do firmly believe that it would greatly enhance our chances. If a bad result at Palace was the price we had to pay for beating The Shite then I would take it all day long

I can only speak for myself but I have been of the opinion that at £6M for an ageing striker that we were always going to lose for part of the season (ACN ) he was a waste of money long before he got injured I didn't rate him at Wigan and I haven't seen anything to change my mind since he arrived He is unfortunate to have picked up another serious injury, that could have happened to anybody. I also agree its way too early to write him off but I think he is going to have to do something pretty spectacular next season if he is to prove to be money well spent

Let me try and help Point A . Everton have been consistent European challengers without a proven goal scorer Point B. A 20 goal a season forward is worth at least 10 points Add the extra 10 points to point A and you get a top 4 side

Todays performance was really better than anything you've seen in the past 10 years????? Im with Romey on this one , Im glad we are churning out results despite not playing well and its obviously going to take time for us to settle into the way Martinez wants us to play. We are a work in progress at the moment and I think there are bound to be some inconsistent display's along the way. For me it was an appalling first half, at least we didn't concede, but at least when he got them in at half time whatever he said worked and we looked much better in the second half
