  1. Alcaraz - He is proving to be the undisputed champion at Goodison hide and seek Robles - Only brought in as backup anyway and he has to be an upgrade on Mucha Kone - Wasn't at all impressed with this signing at the time and Ive seen nothing to change my mind yet, but to be fair hasn't really had a chance as yet so probably a bit early to write him off Deulofeu - Still excited at the prospect of what this lad could bring to the side, would be nice to see him on the pitch at the same time as Mirallas instead of replacing him Barry- Looks like a gem of a signing, brings real stability to the side . Hope he can keep this level of performance up all season McCarthy - Looks like Peter Reid with legs and ginger hair Lukaku - Blows hot and cold at the moment but when he is on his game is superb and is comfortably better than anything we had at the club
  2. That's not what I said is it? I said I would rather have Barkley than Dempsey and use Osman and Naismith as backup If money is tight why bring in a squad payer that we don't really need? I would rather we put the money towards a CF or CM
  3. If Ross needs a breather I would be tempted to give Osman a go there, personally I think that's his best position, or even give Naismith a go I just think we have more pressing areas that need reinforcing and Im expecting money to be tight again
  4. I would rather keep playing Barkley in that role tbh
  5. I thought we started the game very well and were dominating the game. We had control of the ball, passed it accurately and with purpose. Everyone was wanting the ball and each attack was a team effort. Hull were chasing shadows and I was thinking that if we could break them down that we'd have a comfortable win. We deservedly took the lead through Mirallas, albeit it was a lucky goal really. But we don't get the luck going our way all that often so I'm more than willing to take it when it comes our way. After we took the lead, though, our levels dramatically dropped and Hull started to get a foothold in the game and their confidence grew and it showed in their play. They saw more of the ball which in turn meant that they could be more of a threat. They got back in the game in more than just possession and were on level terms before half-time. I thought Baines defended the situation very poorly as he was beaten far too easily to allow the ball to be played into the box for Sagbo to smash in. It seems to be a recurring theme this season, one minute its quick, sharp passing and slick movement and we look like a real footballing side. The next minute the passing goes to pot and the some of the players look like they've never been introduced before. I thought we played some great stuff early on and had Hull chasing shadows but from the moment we scored Hull looked the better side. All the things we were doing well we were suddenly hopeless at. I suppose its going to take time to find that level of consistency but in the meantime its good to see that we were capable of grinding out a result http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/everton/8980932/merson:-martinez-will-be-pleased-with-result
  6. McCarthy for me, him aside it was a poor performance but will happily take the three points
  7. Is it apathy or is it realism? Let me start by saying yes Moyes had a case to answer as to why we always choked on the big occasion but generally speaking I think its fair to say he did a fantastic job while he was here and the club was undoubtedly in a far better position when he left than when he arrived Hopefully Martinez can take us onto the next level, but even if he does the previous regime should still be given some credit for giving him such a solid platform to build on. We finished 6th last season but it could have been so much better if we hadn't have ran out of steam. Where could we have finished if we had a Lukaku last season? Its been the same story for years, our starting XI has been quality but weve had no depth, is that down to apathy? All weve been lacking is a top class striker, is that down to apathy? Its not apathy that has held this club back . it is money Some fans recognise this and appreciate the good job the club are doing under the circumstances, it doesn't make them apathetic , it makes them realistic Other fans behave like spoilt brats whose parents cant afford the top toys and the best clothes so they stamp their feet and moan and whinge constantly because they want everything and they want it yesterday There is absolutely nothing wrong with aspiring to be better but at times a little dose of realism needs to be added It wasn't that long ago that we were constantly battling against relegation, but hey at least we still had Bellefield.... some fans need to refresh their club history
  8. It wasn't intended as an insult and Im certainly not questioning your passion for Everton but prior to Martinez you were not exactly a pint half full guy were you?

  11. Heard Martinez on the radio this evening saying that his injury might force us to move in the transfer market in January, hope that means we go for the lad from Porto
