  1. Some very valid points marco - we don't think you're a moron, a tit yes but certainly not a moron
  2. Just a side note on Lerner - anyone hear Thompson on Soccer Saturday... Houllier had Cabaye lined-up for Villa in a £4m deal and Lerner wouldn't sanction it. Has Lerner actually been that good for Villa? Yes he put a hell of a lot of money in initially but he's re-couped it all now through player sales. O'Neill, a top class manager couldn't work with him ultimately and they've since had Houllier and now McCleish although McDonald looked positive and had the support of the players when in charge.

    Tamworth

Right back - said to be his natural position.

Hate! It's not as if he's playing poorly on purpose - Phil Neville doesn't pick the team! Evertonians are great at times - Kevin Campbell got booed in his final season - some of us have very short memories!
  5. Disappointed he faces them up like that but the lads shouting shit are embarassing - Kenwright needs to either ignore them or actually talk to them. On that evidence each party is as bad as each other - tittle tattle! - Kenwright took the bait!

Neville is our back-up at left back, he's played there at the highest level. Johnny hated playing rb at Athletico so putting him at lb would be even worse. Heit/Distin are our 1st choice CB pairing for the forseeable future, they need all the time they can get together to build that understanding - even if it is Tamworth!

Last time was his brothers testimonial vs Juve - he played a stormer!!!

Good place the Snowdome... I live 5 minutes down the road from Tamworth - was gutted we drew them at home (part of me wants a replay!)

There's a ghost in the system!!! - how did that bily statement get into my quote? I'm scared now - leggit!

I'm happy with that team by the way - hope Duffy and McAleny get a fair run-out too.

Played there a lot for Man.U and England - surely he'll be okay there against Tamworth?!

I read it's £20 because we're splitting it 50/50 with Tamworth - fair play to us if true.
  14. This is pre-sales in the summer (and signings for some clubs)... Conclusions - money talks (see top 5), chopping and changing doesn't always work (see 6/7) and Wenger/Moyes have been incredible Premier League Managers but both need backing now as both clubs are on the slide (although if you believe rumours Wenger is backed but doesn't want it!) Edit: no surprises re. Blackburn and Bolton.
  15. Just go on wiki like haf probably did. You probably have to mention commitee anyway haven't you?
  16. All Moyes needed was that one big signing a season like he got in Johnson, Yak and Felli, they kept things ticking over and improved our quality season on season - this stopped after Felli and we all know what's happened since Lescott left. The money wasted on Bily has had a big effect on what we see now in my opinion - if that money had been spent on someone like Adam Johnson we would have had money left over and I'd imagine our playing style would have evolved in a more positive way - that's all speculative though - meh!
  17. Plus we could have had him for free in the summer! In my opinion he's currently the best finisher in the Prem - would go as far to say he's a world class finisher. However good he is - we cannot pay £10m for a striker we could have had for £0m in the summer. A.) we can't afford it... B.) even if we could, we couldn't justify that lack of judgement.
  18. It's incredible how little people still know about Felli - £12m - parp!!! Let's keep it that way anyway - Felli could get into any team in the prem - city included - serious money would need to be offered (£30m bracket).
  19. Over the season... he's been one of my favourite players for years but it's not worked for whatever reason this season. Hope season-ending is just rumour.

  21. Did you see the conditions? I think a top of his game Moore alongside Cannavaro with Sammer sweeping up would have struggled to judge some of the long balls last night!!!
  22. Obviously gutted for him but looking back on how good the Heitinga/Distin partnership was a couple of years back makes me feel that this may actually work out okay for the 1st team. 1. no more Johnny in mid. 2. Moysies hand has been forced to play our 'form' CB's together.
