  1. We've not finished the transfer window just yet!
  2. I thought Rooney was trying just a little to hard last night. I think that when we see him fitter, more settled and with greater cohesion with teammates he'll have a great season.
  3. I sit somewhere in the middle. I don't want Barkley to leave but it's clearly obvious he will. I don't know if he's being forced out of the club (offered a poor contract extension) or whether he's just being greedy. What I can't fault is RK played him most of last season and therefore clearly rated / trusted him. I've always been an admirer of his but do concede he's not improved as much as I'd have wanted. I'm different to most football fans in that a player signs a contract and I can't blame a player for seeing that contract through. What I am most annoyed about is we won't get the full value of money for him.
  4. Agree - and I only think he'll get better.
  5. It does seem a lot and I can only see it being only a Barkley replacement therefore we'll only be down the difference. That said Gylfi won't have any sell on value and prob 3 good seasons left in him.
  6. I think we'd be interested in Hazard but that isn't gonna happen either.
  7. Not looked at the stats but I was under the impression that surprisingly very few Champions league 3rd place additions went on to win the trophy.
  8. I don't agree, I think Lukaku was leaving regardless. Cleverly we spent early to ensure the prices of our acquisitions weren't overly inflated. Also it gave them longer to settle in, so win win.
  9. Get him in. RK must be really keen for the time this has rolled on, the price and the alternatives out there. One of the final pieces of the jigsaw.
  10. Kev needs game time to get the best out of him and often in the last that's led to injuries. I'm hooping that he'll stay injury free and give us more options up top.
  11. I loved the physicality and passion he had. Back then there was quite often very little to get excited about.
  12. Couldn't agree more. Often a team plays on when their own team member is injured and they're in possession. The minute they loose possession they scream to kick it out. Sod that. Let the ref stop it or else carry on.
  13. I've no problem at all if people get injured by accident or from poor challenges. I for one had my tib and fib broken (by an adult!) aged 11 and I hold no resentment. He felt awful. What I can't accept (heat of the moment or not) is someone deliberately trying to injure someone else. If I read the post wrong I'd apogise but there's more than enough in there to indicate it was a deliberate act. If anyone reads the Coleman thread when he was on the receiving end it makes for an interesting read. On the other issues I don't mind a little bending of the rules to advantage our team!
  14. You can't blame football for that! You assaulted someone deliberately and that is inexcusable. No different than someone blaming alcohol after punching them. You being a nob is an understatement on this topic.
  15. You sure his goalscoring record wasn't a flute?
  16. Am I missing something but if you're trying to avoid the score logging onto a Everton forum is kinda risky business?.. & petty stupid. Maybe I'm less forgiving but I think you deserve to get it spoilt. I for one don't watch tv, radio off and unlikely to answer the phone. If I do I normally answer it with 'I don't know the everton score' (even to complete strangers!)
  17. I agree, but to save face to their fans they'll probably state some undisclosed add ons that may be extremely small. That way we get him for 40m and their fans think they've got over 40m for him. All sides happy.
  18. Not a story for me. I think Swansea just assumed we'd stump up the 50 million just like that and were complicit with him not going on tour.
  19. Not even close. The same discussion hasn't yet been regurgitated 2000 times.
