I’m with Pad on this one. This can’t and shouldn’t be hailed as any sort of success. There were some improvements in part (second half) but we lost and are out of one of the 2 competitions we’ve got/had any chance of salvaging our season from. Im pleased Koemans gone but we can’t look at all positives in the game without critiquing everything the same as we did with all of Koemans performances. Still no focal point to our attack and it will cost us badly this season.

I blame the ball. Had it not been so light I think we would have won.

Completely agree. I’d rather lose by a few having a go rather than sitting back and only losing 1-0.

Everton 1 - 2 Arsenal Rooney

Benítez has won so much in the game, experienced, knows the league, has a house on Merseyside and doing a great job at Newcastle. So surely we couldn’t go far wrong with him. ..........BUT it just still doesn’t sit right with me.

I said it weeks ago but the more I see of him the more I would love to see Tammy Abraham at our club. Can’t see Chelsea parting with him though. But they did with Lukaku so who knows.

Ridiculous that this on at 1.30pm on a Sunday and not being televised. Joke. It’s not like we have enough Sunday fixtures already. Also with a game on Thursday we could have had an extra days rest.

I changed first goal scorer prediction and needn’t of bothered either! Even more pissed off that I got up early to watch that crap as I’m currently working night shifts.

I can’t complain about him today. Loads of effort and trying to take his chance. He’s had such limited football that 90 mins was a huge ask. He’s not the player for us long term but at least he showed energy and a willingness to run until his fitness gave in.
