10 years is relatively short, and we're three years in and been on the winning side of the deal so far. Only 7 years left which is less than half the time period of a patent, so considering it's information we're gaining it is a very good deal.
The club have been doing it for years at a loss (with 20 years experience?), surely it makes sense to let a specialist take over. It's hardly going to be hush hush what they're doing, the club will be watching over, with the length of the deal indicating to me that the club has access to full information otherwise theyd be no reason to make the deal for that long. Apparently Kitbag have made a loss up to now, so how Everton were meant to make a profits through self learning is very unrealistic. Having the money upfront is helping our finances, if we were doing it ourselves we would have been £9+ mil out of pocket(bye bye *insert 9 mil player here*), with this year due a profit. We wont get the benefits of the higher profits now, but the cash upfront has helped us keep one player (or a few fringe players) and now kit bag will earn there money back over the next 7 years, with us still getting 3 mil a year is a fair deal. Also the money being guaranteed gives us more leeway with the banks as the revenue is secured.
