  1. 1. What are your thoughts on Sunday’s game? What team is David Moyes likely to select and what formation will he adopt? What weaknesses in United’s team will Moyes look to exploit?

It's a shame they make it an early kick off, as the early games tend to be laxy-daisy which will encourage Moyes to sit back and roll over. Can't see the squad being much different from this, Moyes tends to be predictable.

    Howard

    Hibbert Jags Heitinga Neville

    Osman Gibson Fellaini Pienaar

    Cahill

    Jelavic

Exploit the RB, love Rafael but he's not quite ready yet. Rio as he's very vulnerable against us.

    2. What are your thoughts on Everton’s season to date? In recent years Everton have started the season slowly but there is a marked improvement during the second half of the season – why is this?

Awful, simply not good enough. Moyes is too negative plays for the clean sheet and the hope we'll magically score if the midfield square the ball enough times. Once we're safe he opens up a bit and play a more natural game, that results in a top 4 form.

    3. What are your thoughts on Darron Gibson? Has he impressed, surprised or disappointed? At a reported £1m (rising to £2m on appearances) is he proving to be a bargain?

Worst player on a pitch that had Jay Spearing on last week. He done well in his first game, and put his best performance against Swansea. Mostly been a passenger with Fellaini doing the extra work. That said he's still better than expected, don't think he's fully match fit yet. Expect him to up his game next season after he's had a preseason with the club and no more hang ups on leaving you.

    4. Who have been your standout players this season? And why?

Distin, Heitinga, and Fellaini. They've had the hardest job, we havent went forward enough for the attacking players to stand out. Tim Howard is probs having his best season for the club as well. Distin and Heitinga just make for easier viewing, as Jags and Distin really are a shambles together. Fellaini is a boss.

    5. What is the latest on Ross Barkley? How is he performing for the reserves? Are you still excited by his potential?

In the papers today he's back on the bench Sunday. The club are working on his defensive side, he had missed last season after a leg break so had to catch up on defensive duties, still poor decision from Moyes as his creativity is something the team has craved this season. More so than I was with Rooney, although Moyes is doing his best to kill any form of hope in the youngsters. Think he's scared of losing him, as he did after Rooney got so much exposure.

  2. Same here. Him and Rooney work well together and in my eyes there isnt a better striker that could do that job for England.

He works hard, brings people into the game and knows how to find the back of the net. He does a lot more than Sturridge imo, even if I think that Sturridge is probably the better footballer (if that makes sense).

It's hard to see past Sturridge, for another good English striker. Welbeck is just like Agbonlahor who shouldn't be near the squad either.

  3. Yeah thats it!

Seriously though, he is a love hate player. When he is cracking goals in from 35 yards and going past people and going forward we all love him as would any football fan, but when he is doing stepovers on the edge of the area, giving the ball away in our half, being sloppy with possession, walking back when we are under the cosh from opposistion thats when we hate watching him. Maybe he is a luxury that Everton can't afford?

Hypothetical say he's on 50k a week, the club won't be willing to fork it out for a player who won't be a regular. In my opinion though he would be, as even if he only started against the bottom half clubs and the last 20 mins against the others he'd make a big contribution 10 points easily, which would make us challenge for champs league at the moment. Keeping him off the pitchers of beer and on the football pitches every week is the only problem, which challenge Moyes clearly isn't up to.

  4. You do have some peculiar opinions, Pete wink.png I think he should start for England together with Rooney.

    You're on a wind up, I'm not biting tongue.png

(I agree about with the 1st half, I'll admit I am a opinionated twat... or so am told)

  5. rooney was sayin he is there player of the season...

Berba and Hernandez must be livid when he plays, both have much better records, and both are much better players. All one foot, and even then he's average at best with that. Every time I watch him I wonder how he's on the pitch he's got nothing to his game. He must have won a competition or Ferguson is doing the nasty to his mum.

  6. They certainly were at the start of the season. They are finding more cohesion now and are grinding out wins but they are definitiely beatable.

Who out of their starting line-up would significantly improve us? Valencia and a striker (Rooney/Welbeck/Hernandez or even Berbs to replace Cahill). Across the rest of the pitch its fairly even and they can all be got at if you really wanted to. Sadly we wont.

Agree, just not with that one, he's shouldn't be any where near premiership team.

  7. Already been mentioned in the link provided, in that a fair number of kids today and at time of the theater release actually never knew the incident even occured, were under the impression it was all a big Hollywood number and no harm done etc, bit of a disservice to the 1,500 who lost their lives when some dumb fucking kids trivialize such an incident and seemed adamant the 1912 incident never occured, the level of todays education is indeed a concern. dry.png

Never been a fan of the Cameron release, there was no insipid love story on the boat that night, no 'Jack' or 'Rose' every damn two minutes, athough to be fair it isn't a bad representation of what happened, but the awful Celine Dion music is the death knell for it. A Night to Remember is much more faithful and common sense.

Someone asked why I have an interest in this, Southampton is as famous for the Titanic as Liverpool is for the Beatles, there's a many number of historical testaments to the incident and was of course, the leaving point that day of the historic liner, it is synonymous with the events of 1912, add to that, always had an interest in nautical things and ship disasters and they don't come much bigger than this. I've been waiting a while of the 100th anniversary to come round, it's a big occasion for me.

Thats why it called a movie and not a documentary. People are dumb and need a Jack and Rose, to fork over their notes.

  8. I wouldnt call a wide player disappointing when he has scored & created as many as Drenthe has in limited opportunities when we were playing really shite football.

Its a shame that not all is right between the ears with him, but I imagine he could be managed by someone that isnt so strict/disciplined as Moyes.

Not worth wasting your time using stats against a Pienaar fan, they don't believe in them as they never mention that touch to Baines 6 passes before a goal that should obviously be credited to Pienaar cos he is a footballing god dry.png

  9. Like the 10 best celebrations within the last 20 years? How does Lee sharpes get ahead of Cahill's or even Robbie Keane's? But there's 4 United nominations...

At least they've got Shearers goal against us, RVN won goal of the season with a poxy run from the half way line against Fulham that season. would have liked Carbone or Zola nominated.

  10. The premier league has 4 champs league spots and 3 europa spots 5th in the league, Carling cup winner, Fa cup winner(as both finalist will be in europe this creates an extra spot for the league)

    Man u - champ league

    City - champ league

    Arse - champ league

    Chelsea - champ league

Newcastle - europa via league position

Spurs - europa via league position/facup

    Everton sad.png

Liverpool - europa via league cup

Sadly no thursday night football for us. Not mathmatically over yet though, if one of Spurs(12point gap) Newc(12) or Chelsea(10) lose all their games and we win all of ours. But i wouldnt bet on it. Little check and its 66/1 for us to finish top 6, opposed to 1/50 for it not to happen.

  11. happy.png another great player you would have in our team I take it, only jokin. duffys got more ability than him and he's younger.

cant see anything than a manc victory. fergie will probably bribe moyes with a few loans next season for us sitting back and inviteing the obvious.

    howard

    hibbo johnny distin baines

    drenthe felli pienaar gueye

    barkley

    jelevic

id play that but its not going to look anything like that what gets chosen.

Totally agree. He's one of the most promising cb's in the league, just unlucky for him we're strong in that position.

  12. Actually ive watched every game since he signed for them as my girlfriends a red ur talking shite the only game he's played at best average was against hibbert in the 3 nil defeat what does that tell you if he cant take henderson or spearing out of the middle for a game then that backs my point up even more most overrated england player ever to play in the last 5 years. drenthe is twice the player he is.

Villa were at there best when they had him in the middle with Milner/Agbo and Young on the wings. I was surprised at how well he played in the middle. He's wasted on the wing just as Osman is for is.

  13. Unless Baines' injury keeps him out. If that's the case we'll have nothing down either side.

I'm trying to be positive for this game, but Phil Neville versus Rafael and Valencia will severely dent any optimism left in any of us. He done well filling in there last week, but the pace of them 2 running at him will make for uneasy viewing.

  14. Thing is most see rio as a liability and Evans as plain shite... that's been their cb pairing for the majority of the season! Answers on a postcard!

Evans is playing really well of late. Possibly he's a late bloomer and done an Osman, or he's just having a lucky run of form. Rio is gash though, has been for years. My friend the utd fan was trying to argue Rio carries Vidicrofl.gif . I'm hoping Rio plays to the right(if not i'd rather we play central to target him) as their right back is weak as well, probs the best suited game for our one dimensional left sided attack only game plan.
