  1. Ryan Giggs - 39 years old... Pienaar has many years left in him, he's easily worth £5m of our (non-existent) funds. Yeah he left us for 'bigger' things but he'll get his 'punishment' by watching his EFC team mates lift the FA cup and not be a part of it. Pienaar makes us play better and to be fair he's probably paid for himself already in final league placing!

Ryan Giggs is world class and relies on his footballing brain to compensate his age. Pienaar has no where near the ability in his feet or head to even consider he has a chance to last till he's 39 in the prem. Plus ageing players get moved more central were he is not needed, how many wingers in the league are older than 32? Everton can't afford to spend £5 mil on a stop gap.

  2. Pete0, why would you want players you've never actually seen playing ahead of someone who has proven and still is proving, that he's the best player at our club? You do realize Elm is not a winger or attacking player like Gueye, Drenthe, Holtby or Hoilett are? He's a player like Gibson, spraying passes from in front of the defense.

I have watched him and he's more like David Beckham, superb passer of the ball, he's got a shot on him so I can see the Gibson comparison.

Pienaar is not the best player at the club, never was (Arteta), never will be (Fellaini/Osman/Baines/Heitinga/Distin/Drenthe/Jalavic), the reason he plays on out on the wing is because he's behind so many better players than him at the club. Just look at his stats, they're pathetic we were lucky to get £3 mil for him.

  3. I'd like to see Van Persie up front as he is on his last twelve months but it aint gonna happen!!! Elm? if you pay attention to most pundits talk the lad will sign for a Juve, Man Utd etc. We missed the boat. It doesnt matter what we sold Peanuts for its what he is worth for us in the future. He isnt quick and never has been. He has a football brain and can easily play till 34. Even say £6 million is that alot? fuck me no. You are getting a proven prem footballer that is top drawer for the price of Scott Dann for three years. If we sell a Rodwell or Jags its all relative for fucks sake!!!

Strongly linked with Spurs in Jan for £6 mil, hardly in champ man dreamland of RVP. £6 mil for any winger Pienaar's age would be a shocking waste of the club's scarce resources. £5 mil was considered extortionate for Distin and he is considerably fitter and plays in a position were age tends to be a bit more forgiving.

  4. Yup.....though I think maybe Brad Jones is a better keeper than him anyway (not basing that on any goalkeeping expertise, just reputation).

I'd rather Doni played based on him being shiterofl.gif , don't know anything about Jones but he can't be worst than Doni.

Only had a pound in my skybet account so put a cheeky 50p on a yaktrick so might turn into a score to put on the national with a bit of luck :)

  5. Suarez and Gerrard rested tonight.

    Dalglish...

"It was a big decision - to be fair to us, to our players, to other teams and to treat the competition with respect. But the most important thing is we have to look after ourselves."

Happy to see Bellamy playing, only player who I'd consider a threat.

  6. Moses and Hoilett could do a job. Pienaar is doing the job. Rather take the certainty, despite him jumping ship.

He's only got about 2 years left in him with no re-sale value. Would like to see more of Gueye and Drenthe next season and Moyes bring in Elm or Holtby if we have any money as well as Holiet to add competition.

  7. I'm feeling more and more confident about this one. I know we must have about a 0% success record in recent history when we've gone into a derby as favourites, but I think we've got the players with the right attitude to turn up and do this. Heitinga and Distin have played to the same excellent standard together all season, regardless of opposition and competition, Jelavic is on fire and has injected new life into Cahill, Maggie has the opportunity to really start his Everton career with a big performance at Wembley, Neville is in his best form this season, as is Baines, Fellaini gets better and better with every game.

Cautiously optimistic I'd say, but looking at the [erformances of Chelsea and Spurs recently, I fancy our chances against either of them in the final.

Early goal against the Shite and I think we'll spank them. Start slowly and all it takes is a dodgy refereeing decision or a deflection and we could find ourselves behind. Moyes needs to learn from his previous "let's bide our time" approach in previous derby games and tell our players to go out there, hit them hard, hit them fast, and knock the wind out of their sails.

I'd prefer Spurs (also Ledley King should retire after todays performance), wouldn't want a repeat of 2009 final be heart breaking to lose to them again, plus Redknapp face will be priceless when we're lifting the cup COYBs[1].gif

  8. I'm with Mikes team, but i'd have no problem if he plays Drenthe instead of Maggie.

I could see Drenthe coming in and having a blinder to put himself in the shop window.

I think someone is going to get really turned over, I see a completely one sided game. I just dont know which way.

Not excited, not nervous, i'm shitting myself!

Can see us setting a Wembley high scoring record and completely embarrassing the 'King and his flock :)

  9. Didnt expect to see McFadden start a game and struggling to work out our formation today. It's a weakened team but should still be enough to beat Sunderland

    Howard

    Hibbo Heitinga Jags Neville

    Gueye Osman Fellaini McFadden

    Pienaar

    Straq
