  1. Distin’s deal expires in the summer but Everton have the option to trigger another year – and he is keen to stay. He added: “If they want to give me ten years I’ll take it but if it’s only a year I will take that.”

Good to see this, most players would be pushing for a longer deal(which I wouldn't begrudge him for) :)

  2. Must've heard this....Bowie produced the album and played sax.

Nope, jus had a little listen to a few songs they've got on youtube and All The Way From Memphis is the only song I recognise. Sound a bit like Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music to me :)

  3. Counting Crows is a good call....August & Everything After probably.

Don't believe I left Mott the Hoople off....All The Young Dudes (title track being by far the weakest on the album).

I was thinking of Recovering the Satellites. I haven't listened to their 1st album yet.

Never heard of Mott the Hoople, surprised they got away with that name sounds very rude.

  4. Currently

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the aeroplane over the sea

    Radiohead - In Rainbows (/KidA/HTTF/TKOL)

Dallas Green - Bring me your love

    Neil Young - Harvest

    Yes - Fragile

    Soft Machine - Third

Modest Mouse - This is a long drive for someone with nothing to talk about

Mazzy Star - Among My Swan

    The Kills - Midnight Boom

Bryan Ferry - These Foolish Things

Depending on the weather, substitute in; The Mountain Goats, Bowie, Queen, Ray LaMontagne, Eminem, Tool, James, Blur, Paul Weller, Counting Crows, Raveonettes, Cold War Kids, Libertines, Snow Patrol, Prince, Kinks, Beatles, Eagles.

  5. But Norwich automatically went up in second place, Swansea went through the playoffs so i think they've done better, plus they have beaten some of the top sides which Norwich haven't really done

Norwich have done the double on Swansea this year. Moyes has beat some of the top teams this year and he should be nowhere near manager of the year.

  6. Swansea have a better side than Norwich but it's still nothing compared to what the rest of the Premier League has. Considering the squad of players Swansea have they and Rogers have done a fantastic job. For me there should be no other real contenders for the award bar Redknapp for getting Spurs 4th and Sir Alex for winning the league.

What Norwich have done is the norm for clubs that come up, he has been told to keep Norwich up and has (nothing too special IMO).

They have the same amount of points, Swansea have done it with better football, but Norwich haven't exactly played bad football. Lambert's is edging it for now, unless Rodgers can push Swansea to a top half finish.

  7. Wouldn't have just been for ability though would it....would have been for "services to the game".

Pele....Supreme gentleman/sporting genius/universally respected during and after his career.

Maradonna...cheating drug using megalomaniac cunt who could play a bit.

    Thoughts on Cruyff?

As I weren't around for any of them. From what I've seen he stands out for me. Also Zico looked better than Pele in the games I've watched. Or have I just not seen enough?

  8. Aston Villa are the perfect opposite of Everton - Martin O'Neill should take alot of resposnibity as to what has happened to them...

    http://www.dailymail...ston-Villa.html

Shocking feck up, he sold Gary Cahill for £4.5 mil then wasted money on Zat knight £3.5, Curtus Davies £10, and James Collins £5. The £12 mil wasted on Reo-coker and Harwood is unforgivable, special mention for Luke Young £5, Delph £6, and Sidwell £5.5. All average players the feck was MON thinking?

Hated them under MON always got good press for shite football that looked good on MOTD. 451 counter attack that solely relied on pace and was boring as fuck. How they got results against us is up there with Liverpools luck, we always played them off the park and they'd still nick the points.

  9. Remaining Aston Villa Fixtures:

    A - Liverpool

    H - Stoke City

    A - Manchester United

    H - Sunderland

    H - Bolton Wanderers

    A - West Bromwich Albion

    H - Spurs

    A - Norwich City

Well what do you all make of them little numbers? The game against Liverpool will be massive, Villa will know that they can win given Liverpool's shocking form and the abscence of Pepe Reina but whether they can pull it off at Anfield is questionable (I guess if Wigan can do it anyone can). The Stoke and Manchester United games will end in defeat in my personal opinion and the Sunderland could could well see them lose aswell.

Bolton might save their bacon but with the season nearly at an end that game could be harder than it appears with West Brom and Norwich the only winnable games from the last three games (even though Norwich have been in tip top form and will want to end the season with a win at home). Villa can forget beating Spurs cause that aint gonna' happen so like Pris said Villa may well fall through the trapdoor come May.

I reckon they'll get 7 points which will be the magic 40 points which should be enough to keep them up.

Beating Sunderland and Stoke, and draw with either Spurs or Bolton

  10. A bit different no? Wigan have been in the Premier League for a good few years and Norwich are in their first season.

Blueboy says no manager who finishes 17th.

Still harsh on Wigan though as they have their best players poached every year. Valencia, Scharner, and Palacios they'd be mid table with no worries. They will be losing Rodallega next season as well.

  11. Quote off an American on GOT

-The US national team has a hole when it comes to young centerbacks right now - either they are veterans or developing. Plus, we really don't need another one. So, not a CB.

-We have no natural LBs to back up Baines, and this doesn't seem like a back up transfer, so no.

-US national team's few CAMs aren't a fit - developing (Adu, JFT), injured (Holden), or under contract (Feilhaber). So no.

-The US forward pool is light and developing or veterans, so no.

-We don't need another central defensive midfielder, so no Maurice Edu, no Michael Bradley, no Jermaine Jones, etc.

    -It's not LD.

Now RB, wingers and Dempsey...things get interesting:

-Clint Dempsey is looking to move. But he has said time and time again he wants to go to a Champions League club, so I just don't see this happening, and Fulham is going to look for money we don't have. But he could be Moyes' target.

-Brek Shea. People want to make him a star, but he has looked ragged and tired of late. Not sure he has it to be honest. ThinkGueye has been coping just fine.

-Fabian Johnson & Timmy Chandler - two very bright prospects who have played RB, RM (Chandler) and LB, LM (Johnson). There has been talk of Chandler being sold. He would be a very interesting fit for us at RB - attacking fullback all the way, and could also play winger.

I'm hoping it's Demsey still, the players mentioned as possibles don't sound very good.

  12. For me there is no way that a manager who finishes in 17th position should even be considered as manager of the year. Regardless of what the team is.

Especially when he assembled that awful team himself.

I think most people at the beginning of the season would say Lambert would be a contender if he finished 17th, with a Norwich side that has very few players that would make on to the other premiership teams benches

  13. I thought Moyes was very good on it.

I found it difficult watching Bill. When Ben Sheppard was pushing him about valuation he looked very flustered and pretty much beat around the bush.

I dont know what to think of it really, but you dont see him in the media when we are doing badly. If we did I would have a bit more respect for him.

    EDIT:

The value of the club does not change on a daily basis, not to the point where it would make any difference.

To say Bill and the rest of the board are not cencerned with the price of shares is just a bit silly, as this must have some base of the value of the club.

And to say he has met people interested in the club and has never once discussed price but asks them to come and see the club and meet David, its a bit of a blow to hear he would treat investors like this.

if the investors are concerned with the price, chance are they can't afford to push us forward. We need someone with a spare £500 million who will buy Everton then invest with no guarantee of a return. We need to sell the history and fans/atmosphere/feel good factor Everton can produce, not name a price so a entrepreneur will come in and try make a fast buck.
