  1. Somehow, and I may be a bit pessimistic here, but I don't think so. My own opinion is that either he can't make up his mind on which positions to strengthen (I doubt this is true due to the fact he is a good manager) or he is to busy trying to prevent the sale of valued players (Such as Lescott) to be able to delve into the transfer market. If we do sign anyone I think it will be a last minute signing to keep the fans happy. <_< Moyes is probably at his wit's end just about now. I sympathise, I really do, but IMO strengthening the squad must be a high priority now, or any signings will not have time to 'gel' in. We may hear from him this weekend with a bit of luck.
  2. Summer window and we are still dragging our heels on signings. Even someone who was going to be on a 'free' (Owen) was not enough to stir the dead arses in the suits. So Hull made a try for him, and still Everton did nothing. Now he is having fitness checks with ManUre, so we will have no chance now. I expect that if we do make a signing now it will be an overpriced useless lard bucket. Perhaps it may even be Beattie again? Or anoth Fellini (who was well over the top in price IMO) Bill Kenwright says he loves Everton, David Moyes is a great manager. Yet between them they can't get their heads out of the sand and do things off the pitch. It can not just be about money, not when Owen was on a free and they broke the club's transfer record for Beattie and then again for Fellini. I am thoroughly fed up and disgusted in the seemingly total lack of any real ambition apart from that pet project of destroying the club's heritage by moving them from their home and roots. OK rant over..... feel free to give me stick for it.
  3. Reading that makes it seem like Kirkby (Knowsley) Council are saying to the residents the same as EFC are saying to the fans. "We are going to do this, if you don't agree, then tough shit we are going to do it anyway and fuck you!"
  4. I'm not. He was happy cos he never knew he could walk that far BTW Welcome Will, Hope you enjoy participating in the forum.
  5. I have relatives in Boston... they have an Everton shirt courtesy of myself and the Royal Mail. Great to have you here.
  6. Always fancied going to Prague but never made it. But it is great to have you here CZ. Welcome to the forum and I hope you have a great game to watch against the Arsenal.
  7. Dunno about Torres, but he scares the crap out of me. And that my friends is how football should be played. He dishes it out,but accepts it back by putting himself on the line. I don't care if he does get some red cards. I want to see him in an Everton shirt. Jeezus, remember how big Dunc terrified ManUre.... they would be shitting themselves if Cana was on the team sheet.
  8. Christ, if his translations are as bad as that, what is his grammar like. Maybe it is best not to have someone in who can't understand what Moysie is telling him.
  9. I just spat my tea all over the computer reading that. Dunno about anyone else, but I would just love to see Owen go to ManUre. (Maybe they would let us have Rooney back at a cut price if they did......j/k )
  10. Cold cider on a hot day is great........ but it ain't ale. Mann's Original is ale...... Ooops giving my age away here. If you need slang for beer, just call it fizz or something. How anyone can think of a spirit as ale? Geezus no wonder they fall over after a couple of pints. Just to show how cantankerous an old git like me can be. There is no such thing as PEAR CIDER. It is Perry! "I'll drink lager when Benitez shows his arse in a Yate's............... Oh bugger there he goes, he is showing off Gerard to the drunks"
  11. (Sorry was that a little too pessimistic???)
  12. They look like the things you hang up in the back of the car. Certainly don't seem to be full sized.
  13. I have a strong feeling that Red Bull will close the gap on Brawn very quickly. Vettel may even overtake Button for the championship. The Red Bull team (formerly Jaguar by the way) has the better car now. The Brawn is still pretty good though, so I think it could be very close by the end of the season. I expect it to get a lot more exciting from here on in.
  14. Philistines... It is Not England versus Australia for the ashes. It is England and WALES versus Australia. Oh well the media call the team England all the time. So do most other people too.
  15. Oh gawd I can't wait for the tennis to end. It drives me mad, every game looks the same. Perhaps if the tv cameras looked at the pitch side on instead of end on it would look better? I hate the game, never really watch it if I can avoid it. By the way how is Rod Laver doing this year, not heard his name mentioned yet.
  16. Sod the Fiorentina players... Lets have the Fiorentina Stadium.................
  17. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11671_5403260,00.html The story seems to indicate a deal has already been done. Anyone else dubious about this?
  18. Anyone been watching the Confederations Cup? Howard was praised for his performances in goal for USA and he was there in the final. (Pity they lost to Brazil though) Pienaar though, was mentioned a few times as possibly being the most influential player in the competition. Apparently there is a vote on who was the best player sometime tonight. His name is in the pile.
  19. Just watched the final..... USA go 2 - 0 up against Brazil... and then get beat 3 - 2. Good try though

    Season Ticket

I saw a Liverpool season ticket nailed to a tree in Stanley Park today. I thought to myself, "I'm having that........... you never know when you might need a nail"
  21. 1 - 1 draw with Germany and Rodwell scored. Now lets hope they go on to win with Rodders playing.
  22. *cough cough* I knew the words, but never sing them. I used to but got funny looks. Incidentally, I still get the hairs on my neck standing up when I hear the tune played. Am I the only one?
  23. Apparently the games will be sold to BSkyB. So this is a 'middle man' type of thing. I can see what will happen. "I can't afford to go to the match and I can't afford to watch it on the tv either. When is the ladies rugby being shown?"
  24. Is it Patrick Stewart? (Captain Jean Luc Picard of Star trek) He didn't appear in either but he did a stage play of Sons and Lovers and I am told he collects antiques (a la Lovejoy)
