  1. In a football crowd it can be a combined welcome. Some may want to cheer him, some may want to boo him. Whichever is the stronger will prevail I think. That is how it normally works. I personally don't have anything against him. If someone offered me a massive pay rise to do the same job just down the road, I would also want to go there. So I think he is entitled to look for a bigger pay packet. The fact he signed a contract means it is not up to him to leave just yet, but he is entitled to ask to. The fact the decision is to keep him is not his decision nor is it his fault someone wants him. As to what response the crowd will give him. I think that is up to the gods and the 'Mob' mentality that prevails in a football crowd.
  2. After Lawrenson says we will win? Good god thats a big worry.
  3. Post is fine. I agree about the centres though. He may just come here and there is the Roy Castle place too.
  4. Thanks for the info Bill I thought it was less than that.
  5. As an Evertonian I say "Only the best is good enough" If we don't win the league I will be disappointed. I don't think it will happen in truth, but I EXPECT it every season.
  6. I think even Villa leave us for dead in that Bill. We are only about 2/3 of that. (At least I think so)
  7. I think this deal is a bust now. If we get him before the start of the season I will eat the dog.
  8. Watching the England game last night made me think of all of the great England teams of the past. There was the team that failed to qualify in...... OOPS No I agree, the sooner the season is underway the better.

    Hiya

As you will know by the phone call, I seem to be missing out on the start of the season this time around. Give an extra loud groan and moan for me will you? COYB
  10. Thats good news. Hopefully I can get an overdraft too.
  11. I think Admin can put it in the right place. Be careful out there. I just recieved an official looking email from Paypal. (The one you use to buy things over the computer) It says that I have initiated a payment, but because it is from a foreign seller they have put payment on hold. Please click here to verify or cancel. THIS IS A SCAM. Do not be fooled into getting in touch via the links. Contact Paypal and make sure you are not a victim. I was lucky because my paypal account is on another email address, so I checked it out first. They are able to investigate the email if it is forwarded to them. (forwarding address is spoof@paypal.com.... but check it yourself rather than believe what you see on the screen... after all you don't know me either.)
  12. No but I can't spell the name of the fella in charge now. (Nice looking missus though )
  13. I think the reason you came second Ten was the way you shoved it in sideways.
  14. Sad news. Seems to have happened a few times over the past couple of years though. RIP and sympathies to his family.
  15. I didn't know they sold pasta. What kind of Ravanelli is it?
  16. By which time the season will have started and we will have no cover at the back. Unless putting a few cripples and a few kids on the bench just in case sounds like the way to go.
  17. Taylor is pretty good, but I agree. It is not going to happen.
  18. ROFLMAO I saw that at the time and wondered WTF is going on. I nearly peed myself then, and the video just made me laugh again. Not only ITV that can balls it up eh?
  19. I remember him, he was a bit of a no-marks if I can remember correctly. Good but not good enough. Pity about Shuey though.
  20. Another excellent post Jamie. Great read as usual.
  21. Even if we do have a back up plan to cover Lescott leaving, we are too close to the start of the season now to 'blood' him. Any replacement will not be ready in time.
  22. Never mind Ten, I understand they are auditioning for the Cadbury's Flake, Get your bikini out.
  23. I don't think we can sell Lescott now. It is so close to the end of the transfer window we could not replace him and get the replacement up to speed on the Everton way of playing in time for the season opener. Anyway according to Sky, Lescott's application for a transfer has been turned down by Moyes. So without his sale, how much money have we got? I don't think it is very much. Unless something very remarkable happens, I seriously doubt we will make any signings for the first team this time around.
