  1. I wonder if he is saving for the 'op' Apparently, they do it in Thailand without a lot of red tape.
  2. That last one is for Cols, I can see him drooling as we speak.
  3. Don't want to pee on your chips, but to me that was infantile and pathetic. If you enjoyed it, good for you. To me it was total crap.

    Pre-season

If we were to bring a foreign club to Goodison I would vote for Bayern Munich. I was at THAT game and it was fantastic. It would be nice to do it again, even in a friendly. Other foreign teams that would be good to see at Goodison..... Boca Juniors Barca Inter Milan. Just a few names from my own ideas. I am sure some of them would be pleased to warm up against us for European football. It would do us good too.
  5. I think it is endemic of being an Everton fan that pessimism is the rule at this time of year. I suspect that with us not being in debt to the tune of umpteen million pounds, then there will be some leeway for purchases. Just who to buy though I have no idea. I am sure Moysie will buy someone who has not yet been mentioned. he has a habit of doing that. I reckon that by the end of this month there will be a real name in the offing, if we have not already signed him by then.
  6. Yes it is postponed until a later date because We are in Europe then! :thumbsup_still:
  7. They do, and I am sure we would be the same in a similar situation.
  8. USA do like their sports coverage. If they are taking football seriously, there is a good chance that in the not too distant future they will be providing a national side with immense talent.
  9. Wouldn't it be nice if Everton were to be associated with players in that way............(sigh)
  10. I have enjoyed the tournament so far. Not for the quality of the football (frankly some of it is pretty dire) but because it is a football tournament just when I was wondering what to watch on the tv.
  11. I am not over keen to sign him myself. But I have been proven wrong in the past. I am willing to be convinced. However I am not expecting any signings at the moment, possibly none at all during this window.
  12. I filled it out as well. Hope it proves useful.
  13. Firstly, your English is very good, excellent in fact, so there is no need to appologise. I would be interested to know who else in here can speak Italian that well. (I know I can't) I think for Everton to be compared to Fiorentina and vice versa is a good thought. Fiorentina are a top quality club with a good history, and a pleasure to watch. I understand your reluctance to spell out the name of the club (Who wear black and white because a past owner liked the shirts worn by Newcastle United .... who have just been relegated again) We have similar reluctance over a clup across the park who have the audacity to play in Everton's old stadium....(Liverpool FC if you are unsure of who I mean) All in all you are very welcome here and it is nice to meet a real fan from Italy.... (as opposed to a Real fan because they are Spanish and upset Manchester United... which is not an altogether bad thing)
  14. On the teletext tonight ESPN are reported as saying they have not shown or are showing any interest. <_< I am not sure who to believe here. I suspect they may have intimated an interest, and when the reality of the situation hit home they back peddled away from it. I think Setanta are in a real mess. Lord knows what will happen now and how much of a knock on effect it will have.
  15. I have changed my jobs a few times in the past, and I am still an Everton supporter. Rooney changed jobs (well perhaps changed Employer would be a better term) That does not mean he stopped being an Everton supporter. He gets more money where he is now, but who in their right mind would turn down more money for doing the same job? I will always be a Blue, and I expect Rooney will be too. Would I take him back? I would while he can play well. If he doesn't come back while he can still play then why would we have him back when he is past it? The answer is YES I would have him back. But I would not want him back as a 40 year old who has left his best days behind him. If he leaves it until then, he will be welcome back but only on the terraces to cheer on his 'beloved' Everton.
  16. Not a hope in hell. Just a wild story someone has come up with in a dream, probably due to funny mushrooms. :grrr:
  17. I assume you mean in the treatment room???
  18. I take it then that you think we should let Lescott go for a cheap sum? Not to try and milk the likes of City for every penny?? As I said that could be a good starting point, we all know bargaining goes on and no I would not expect quite that much, but why not ask for it and test City's resolve in the matter. Lescott is a valuable player for us, possibly worth more to us than his market value. I certainly wouldn't want ANY of our players to be sold on the cheap. Especially to a rival team like City. I don't want Lescott to go at all. Incidentally, Don't Kershner's make sausages?
  19. Everton are not a selling club (I am assured) so if someone wants to by one of our guys, let's just see how much they want to buy them. Put a silly price on them and if they go for that well and fine. If they don't go for that we still have a good player on the books. Slap £18 - £20 million on Pienaar and lets see how much comes back on offer. I bet it is at least £10 million... if offers come at all. <_< If someone like Man Citeh came calling, they may just be stupid enough to pay without thinking.
  20. I am Glad Pienaar got player of the season as he has worked hard for the side and has stepped up when Arteta got injured, I am sorry for Jags as it looked in the bag for him until he got hurt, but he will come good again next season. I really am glad that Baines haas had a mention too. He shows again just how good Davey Moyes is at getting the best out of a player. I was not too sure of baines when he arrived, but he and Moyes have turned his career around. Possibly one of (if not the) best in the EPL now.
  21. While Liverpool would not comment on the record, Everton spokesman Ian Ross was explicit in voicing the club's anger at Bradley. "Yes, the Everton directors have one view and that view is that we should push ahead with the destination project. For Warren Bradley to suggest that the directors have one view and that is [to have] a shared stadium is the usual utter nonsense. "We have spent nearly three years working on destination Kirkby and are giving absolutely no consideration to any other scheme. Perhaps councillor Bradley should have fought somewhat harder to keep Everton inside the Liverpool city boundary if he is that intent on a joint stadium. While I personally think Bradley should take a long walk on a short pier, I am also a little disappointed with Ian Ross here. Is he saying the club directors are totally blinkered and can see nothing that is not already fed to them?
  22. As much as I sympathise with a company who were willing to take on Sky Sports at their own game, I think that them going under could be better in the long run as terrestrial tv may take up the slack on euro competitons, and that is free to watch. The loss of income from Setanta will be missed though, especially by some of the smaller clubs.
  23. I thought the training top looked better than the match top. No nasty white rip down the front.
  24. Only ground share I want to see is twice a year when we do them for six points. Other than that sod them. (I still do not think that they are legally entitled to build on Stanley Park either as the park was gifted to the people of Liverpool not to the tossers of Liverpool FC.) No objection to them buying Bellefield though.
  25. Cols and myself were chatting about this subject today. Not sure if any of you would agree to my way of thinking, I am not even sure Cols did to be honest. Anyway, if City want Lescott then it is up to Davy to put a stupid figure on the table and see just how much City want him. I (along with most of you ) do not want to see him leave, but if he does go I sure as hell want something special for him, because he has been special for us. Jo, Richards and £25 million may be a good starting point. That would give us two players and the finances to go out and buy big. (well biggish) But like I say I don't want to see Lescott go, so if he is about to depart, let's sting the buggers that want him for as much as we can get.
