  1. £1M each - as I said that is just a token payment - for the value of the players that is basically having them for free. Somebody somewhere is going to make a heap of cash somewhere along the line. Very dodgy sounding deal, but I guess its all above board with a loophole somewhere. If we can all smell a dodgy deal then the powers that be must also have a wiff. Will be interesting to see what part 2 offers in their potential transfer next summer. Bit like watching Lost - What the f*ck is going on? - doesn't make sence - Then having to wait till for the next series.
  2. Good for Moyes - Not letting the little sh1t getting away with trying to get him to carry the can for him leaving Goodison. When all Moyes did was try and look after the kid. My guess is Rooney left Everton because of money and to play for a more competative club, after heavy influence from his advisors. But to say Moyes forced him out is a shit trick to try and make yourself better at the expence of somebody else. Grow up Rooney - You made your choice, now at least have the decency to stand by it. You are considered and arseh0le by all Everton fans, don't make yourself look even worst by trying to pin the blame on our manager. You let us Bluse down big time, so whats your game putting the boot in.
  3. Unbeliveable permenant signings, probabley the strangest in prem history - undiclosed fees, so we haven't got a clue what it is. Read yesterday that MSI were looking to buy West Ham. Well I think - With MSI as the players representatives - they have been sold on the cheap to West Ham, say a token payment only, to be put in the shop window so they can be sold for there true value next season. MSI will buy a stake in West Ham - who now have two players worth say £40M and cost next to nothing. Thay buy a decent stake of the club for say £75M and then sell two players for say £40m. So you have basically bought a share of the club for half its real cost. The two Argentinians will be adequately paid, given a taste of Prem football, and get there big money move to a competative club next summer. West Ham will get the services of two of the World Cups star players for 12 months, and a decent investor coming in. MSI will get to buy a decent stake in a London club with two world class player who are set to give a nice winfall payment almost instantly. Poor old Corinthians are left shafted buy everybody. It does smell a little bit - and I would not be surprised if this transfer story has a lot more legs on it -
  4. To be honest I am not overly bothered if Killa goes. He is not the answer to playing on the left wing, and only got in the team as he has a left foot. At least now he can't be used and somebody else will get a chance. Although, non are 'natural' left wingers; depending on the formations adopted during the season, the following are more than capable of filling in until January or even next summer in all honesty: McFadden Arteta VDM AJ Naysmith Neville Valente Any of these in my opinion will do as good as job as Killa has done
  5. http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/pr...icle1222540.ece Double edged sword - left is probabley our weakest side - But Arteta, VDM, Faddy and even Johnson at a push could cover that position until January at least. (i.e Johnson on the left and beattie up front when we go 4-5-1) (Johnson was originally a winger before he was employed as a forward) Without being to cruel - we actually put up a better performance without Kilbane on the pitch on Saturday with only 10 men. That is a little telling on how much the team/squad really NEEDS him. I would rather have a replacement lined up, before Kilbane was sold, but now many bid between £1M - £0.7M will be get for him in the future. I would be tempted to sell if the bid went as high as £1M as its some money in the bank ready for the next transfer window. We managed without Rooney, Radzinski and Gravasen - probabley at each time out most valuable players (transfer fee wise) and did OK, so losing Kilbane sould be a walk in the park.
  6. I think Davies will start to come good this season - I wouldn't put to much on hisfirst season, he had a few shine splint problems and he is well know for being a chap that does take a while to settle. His form for Wales has started to improve of late after having a bit of a dip last season. I think he played well against Watford and was one of our better player. I think he will be like a new signing for us this season, after his poor form last year. with Jonhnson's pace I think Davies will get a lot of assits, because in the Welsh team - Bellamy and Davies when playing together really link up well.
  7. It has been a while since we had such and 'exciting' looking forward line up in my opinion. No over the hill, last saloon journey men. Beattie is the oldest at 28 Beattie and Johnson are both proven Premiership quality goal scorers, one with pace and another with good strengh, and the making of a fearsome pairing up front. If this partnership is as good on the pitch as it is on paper, once it clicks then some of the Prems defenses are going to have a torrid time. McFadden, the hottest youngster in Scottish football over the last few years, who is starting to find his feet in the Prem, and beginning to show some of his promise. Big Victor - our youngster who's pre-season exploits have him snapping at the heels of both AJ and Beattie for a place in the starting line up. Has the strength for the Prem and has shown he can regulalry find the back of the net. Could be a big Prem star in the making. James Vaughan, the Premierships youngest ever goal scorer, coming back to fitness after a horrible injury at the beginning of last season. Don't forget last summer a lot of us had him as a striker who is good enough to break in to the first team, much like Victor. Last year was horrid strikerwise at Goodison Beattie had to plough a very lonely furrow last season for much of the time, with very little on the pitch or bench to help him out. What a differnece a season can make.
  8. Not worried about AJ - pre-season is all about finding fitness and fine tuning. Don't forget he's not be with us long. His goals will come, I have no doubt. Nice to have Victor breathing down AJ's and Beattie's neck, I am sure he will be great of the bench for us, when opposition teams start to run out of steam. The big lad will be able to use his strength to good effect. I don't really care who scores the goals as long as they come. If Beattie and AJ can tire a defence out with strengh and pace, then it could be happy days for Victor coming on for the last 15-20mins. Its a team game after all.
  9. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/spo...ki__report.html Mentions that he plays left sided. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/shared/bsp/hi...erski_29579.stm 1 goal in 4.5 games total, 1 in 6 games Prem. Not bad if playing midfeild. One thing to consider is - News breaks of us after a left sided player 24hrs after VDM's drink incident. Emmm
  10. Can play all across midfeild - Whats he like on the left hand side ? would be may main question - Kilbane is far to inconsistent and VDM is either injured or pissed. If half decent on the left then may be a decent squad player for free
  11. It says a loan deal - but Moyes may be playing a good game - Gravs knows what he is getting coming back to Goodison and he is a fans fav. Moyes letting him know Everton are interested may pave the way for us to get a good deal, whether permanent or a loan. A lot will depend on how much Gravs would like a return to Goodison. But at least he know he would be welcome back and that could go a long way. I would love to have him in the squad, but only if the deal is suitable to Everton, we can manage without him, but would be stronger with him.
  12. I think his salary is more than £30,000 a week. And this paying 50% as a rule is rubbish. Some deals work that way, but for a player of Bridges callibre, the loaning club are likey to pay more than 50% as there is going to be lots of clubs interest. You can't just all of a sudden have one player on the wage bill who is a lot higher than everybody else. Chelsea can afford to pay big wages, All Newcastle players seem to be on big wages anyway. I think our squad is about probabley about right on what we CAN afford. Thing is we are a middle of the league club at present. But I think the squad is steadly improving and results, finishing position should follow. And with that you bring in one or two better quality players with bigger wages as we inprove, as well as offer better contracts to those player at the club and pushing us up the table. But what you can't do is say we want to be big so lets start employing players with big transfer fees and big wages. We can all have Champagine tastes, but its dangerouse if you only have lemonade pockets. We have invested decent money in (transfer fee and wages) Johnston this summer, lets not go mad and get ourselves in to finacial trouble by over streching ourselves. I would guess if we could afford to bring Bridge on board this summer, we would try. If we can't we we won't was our time.
  13. Wages Wages Wages. If we signed Bridge - then he would likley to be the best paid player at our club (probabley best ever pay deal in our history) and that would then blow our currnet wage structure apart, and maybe upset a few other players on the way come contract re-negotations Yes, I would love to see a player like Bridge at our place, but not at any cost. There is a lot more that just paying a £2M transfer fee - one transfer could upset the whole balance of the squad. Duff looks a bargain at £5M, but I would guess his wages would be double our best paid player. And didn't Scott Parker sign a £55,000 a week contract for the barcodes. Chelsea reject are not the bargains they may first appear.
  14. Lets hope he turns out to be a sensation, but lets not get carried away with saying Beattie's for the bench - competative Premiership action is a different kettle of fish to pre season friendlies. That were the men get sorted out from the boys. But fingers crossed - I would rather have three strikers battleing for two starting places anyday. Throw the forgotten man Vaughan in to the mix and we could have quite a lively frontline over the next few seasons.
  15. It is obviouse from his disaplinary record that a person with a tight leash was needed to keep him on the straight and narrow. Moyes looked after that kid, didn't abuse his talent and burn the lad out by playing him week in week out. Tried to keep him on the straight and narrow, keep him down to earth and not let the hype go to his head. Its like any kid, let them have their own way and spoil them and you do them no favours in the long run. Moyes could has kissed his arse, and treated him with kid gloves, but instead he did the right thing by the lad. I hope when Rooney actually grows up he realises that Moyes was doing him a favour
  16. Fooking Hell - It was only a pre season friendly , not much more than a gloryfied training session - players have only been back for 3 weeks. Not even worth the time and effort of writing up a report on all the players. Though, on this early evidence I think AJ and Beattie are going to compliment each other nicely on the front line, once their timing is in. Defenders are going to have to defend a lot better againts us this season, that for sure.
  17. If VDM does get manage to stay injury free in the main, and we have a bit of luck injury wise. Our biggest down fall last season was really poor start, and general lack of goals. A fit VDM on the left, Arteta on the right, and Cahill supproting AJ and Beattie thorugh the middle. That looks like a attacking formation that will get us a few goals. With McFadden and the youngsters on the bench. As some have said VDM if fit will very much be like a new signing, and he does have the talent to potentially be a very good one. Fingers crossed.
  18. To be honest some players don't give a hoot what number they are, but if you are able to give a first 11 number to a player who's confidence is low and in need of a bit of a boost. I don't see any harm in giving him a decent number if it potentially gets gives him a spring in his heel. I also agree with SteveO that you don't take a number of a player, as a sort of a demotion, if you like. Unless you have a contract rebel who you are ging to send to the reserves.
  19. Hasn't BT been on his honeymoon, surly Mrs BT has been giving a good workout over the past few wekks
  20. Must admit I feel a bit smug after Hargreaves performace against Portugal. But to be honest, Sven as a manager has managed to make most players who put on the England over the last 5 years shirt look poo in the main!!!!
  21. Good Xmas draw, home games to Middlesbrough and Newcastle on Boxing day and 30th December respectively. Last thing you want are far away trips in the Xmas week. Then our away game on the first of January is only down the road at Man City. So bugg*r all traveling over the festive season. So good advantage (for a change).
  22. A a footballer, when he is fit, Bellemy is a very hand striker, fast and can finish. But he is an arrogent prick of a person, who has no idea that a word called loyalty exists. He thinks far to much of himself as a player, that it his right to be amoung Champion Leauge elite. A few have critsied Moyes for not buying him last season as he ended up have a fairly decent season for Blackburn. But what do you think Moyes said to him when he came out with "yeah, I will sign for Everton for a decent wage, but if any team who have champions League football offer £6.5M for me I must insist in the contract you give I can go. These 'better' teams aren't interested in me at the moment, but if you give me the chance to impress them this season, then they may want me next year" I hope Moyes kicked him up the arse, as he chucked the cheek bastard out of the door. People said he didn't sign for us last season after talking to Moyes, after hearing about his Blackburn get out clause this week- I can imagine what Moyes said to him. Good for you Davie.
  23. Ghana all over Czechs at the moment. Cech have in a stormer at the minute If Ghana win, then is group is going to be wide open,
  24. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/index.php?page_id=10257 To be honest if his head is right and Moyes feels he will fit in the squad I hope he stays. There is a thread in the rumourama dicussing more signings, and I don't think at the moment anybody can even think of player who may be able to do a job on the left wing. If all us toffeetalker can't even think of a realistic target for that position, then it just goes to show how scarce a half decent left sided player is. Just look at England, they have been trying to fill that position for years. With VDM on the books we potentially have a player that could be really useful on that side of the pitch. We did see some glimses of a decent player last year. If his head was being f*cked up by woman troble - then anybody who has been there will know how hard it is to keep your mind on the job. I am more than happy for the club to give him chance until January - as I said what else is out there???
  25. Gus Hiddink is thinking of leaving a number of players on yellow card out of the Socceroos team to play Brazil, as he wants to limit any suspensions against Croatia as it is likley going to be the game that makes or breaks there chance to progress to the second round. I would really feel gutted for Tim, as I guess he has looked forward to this game since the draw was made. Once in a lifetime opertunity for Austrailian players to take on Brazil in the World Cup. I would be gutted if I was in his shoes, especially ofter coming of the bench and turning the game agaist Japan. I think Hiddink should let him and the other players play as this is to bigger game for them to have to sit out.
