  1. Nobody should go until the new manager has had a chance to evaluate the squad and decide who they want and who they don't.
  2. You could give Jags a megaphone and cup full of LSD and he wouldn't be anywhere near as much of a collection of diseased genitalia as Terry.
  3. Besic is a good player with potential to be very good if he gets a run in the team, loads of energy, good tackle, good at reading the game and spotting danger, and he can also pick a pass, and has some skill. I want him to have a real run in the team this year. Mori again is a good player with potential to be even better. Very good header of the ball, good tackle, good on the ball, but has the occasional brain fart, he thinks he is Ronaldo and tries to take people on or passes that put us in danger. I want him to have a long run in the team to iron these lapses out. Barry and Jags are the calming influence of good players with lots of experience but they need replacing as neither will be able to play as regularly next season.
  4. I do when I come up and stay at the in laws in St Helens
  5. John nobody is saying transport isn't important, it is. But we are choosing a new home, and there is more to deciding where to have that home than transport links. Trying to force a move on us to a particular location just because it fulfills your idea of a transport Nirvana is not going to work or win you any friends.
  6. He is going to be a quality player, should be rotated with Baines. Oviedo is a good player and I love having him around but he should be behind Garbutt and Baines.
  7. But what role would he perform? Is he a midfielder, a second striker? Those questions have not been answered during his time at Utd. For me he is a jack of all trades with questionable temperament. With all respect to the fro'd one we need players who are masters of their chosen position.
  8. With Everton we tend to do things behind the scenes, I have no problems with this, infact I like it, it shows we have class. My only concern is that whoever we appoint must be given sufficient time to rebuild the squad, both in terms of letting players go who are no longer needed, and bringing in new players, let alone getting a decent pre-season with them.
  9. I respect your opinion but I think we do, a player who can come on and inject some pace, quick passing and energy. I'm not saying he is going to be regular but he is an option we need. Time will tell regarding the comparison with Ossy.
  10. You won't win anything with kids.... Seriously, we have to start developing our own players, we do have a very good crop of young players, and by using them if they are good enough we will attract more quality younger players to develop.
  11. T C was rushed back from injury and then plonked into a midfield and a team struggling for rhythm and confidence. He is a new Osman type player, good feet, can pick a pass, score a goal and unlike Ossy has lots of stamina and energy
  12. I think he will stay with the youth set up as he is developing some great players, and team spirit. I agree that you cannot force an assistant on a new manager, they must be able to pick their own team, but the youth teams are a different matter.
  13. I would be happy with De Boer, the more I read about him the more I like him.
  14. We change the world one step at a time. I agree, the sun is shining and I have a good feeling about the match today, I hope you get to enjoy it to.
  15. There are many crimes that society deem acceptable or not really a crime, speeding, fraud (claiming something was stolen when it was lost to claim the insurance) and until recently domestic violence was another example. Its only been in the last 15 or so years that society has deemed this crime as unacceptable, but there are still people that don't see it as a real crime, and there is a great deal of under reporting although this has improved in the last couple of years. When football clubs and other important institutions take a stand on things like domestic violence it has a massive impact on how society in general views these things. For example, racially aggravated public order offenses are dealt with by the courts, yet a football fan convicted of such offenses are often banned by their football club, like the Chelsea fans in Paris. This helps reinforce the message that racism will not be tolerated bu society in general and football in particular. Whether we like it or not kids have role models, people they identify with and want to emulate, if those people say something is ok then it carries allot of weight. It is also true that everyone is responsible for their own actions, and everyone has to answer for those actions. Yet what people decide is and is not acceptable is influenced by the behavior and views of their family, friends and yes role models. I'm not saying that all calibrates have to behave like model citizens, but with fame and influence comes a certain responsibility. Your right there is a difference between a average company and a football club, a football club has much more of an impact and a bigger social responsibility. If you don't believe me just look at the amazing work Everton in the community does, it is able to do everything from working with convicted criminals to running schools and outreach projects because of the influence of Everton football club. Yes Danny Simpson won the league with Leicester despite being convicted of assault. Lets remind ourselves of what he did. This is the evidence the Police Officer gave at the trial: 'I could hear screams and crying and then silence. I could then hear a choking sound.' He added that when he entered the house he could see Ms Ward lying in a prone position facing up and Simpson straddling her with his hands 'firmly placed around her neck'. 'He had both hands around her throat. He seemed startled by my sudden presence. I had to drag him by his arm. 'I then arrested him on suspicion of assault and he angrily demanded that the female didn't say anything and he said, "tell them I wasn't doing anything", which was more of a demand.' Now despite being caught committing the offense he pleaded not guilty, but thankfully he was convicted. Yes players get convicted of offenses and not much happens to them from a club point of view, but there are certain offenses where a club has to stand up and say "No we will not tolerate this behavior by one of our players and we are going to take action" This should depend on the crime they are convicted of, but me personally if Simpson was an Everton player guilty of that offense I would want him sacked, end of.
  16. While its right that the legal system decides on who is guilty and the punishment for those crimes, society in general has a role to play in making these crimes become unacceptable. Players are role models and clubs have to show their fans and the communities that they will not tolerate their staff committing these offenses. This then re-enforces the courts decision. It is also Everton demonstrating that they do not wish to be associated with people who are convicted of domestic violence offenses. Lastly if he is convicted he would be bringing the club into disrepute, a sack-able offense in many companies.
  17. First of all lets wait to see if he is convicted if he is then action needs to be taken, until then he is innocent. If he is convicted and its domestic violence then the club have to take action, clubs have to take a stand to say that this is not acceptable and we will take action against any employee, especially a "Role model" who is convicted of such an offence. If you look at whats happening in American Football, players ther are sacked for being convicted of domestic violence.
  18. He is a very good manager, most of the players who have played under him rate him highly, as do other managers. Alonso wanted to go to Spain similar to Ronaldo. I agree he has not got the greatest record with transfers, but still pretty good.
