  1. hey, just wanted to know if anyone else is doing the marathon next sunday. I'm coming up next week to do it, maybe go to the game in birmingham the day before. sure there must be a couple TT's doing it?
  2. don't like to have a go and you usually aren't too one-eyed, but as MikeO says, go have a look at kuyt's disgusting challenge from the Goodison game, and shut the fuck up
  3. think this is a bit strong, but do agree he's not the world-class player he has sometimes looked like being. agree 100% that his set-pieces are fcking useless. every game the commentators go on about about dangerous he is at set-pieces, but most of the time they don't beat the first defender or go way too long. also, how many times has he scored from a free-kick near the 18-yard box????? and it's been like this all fckin season long...
  4. we got nothing, we deserved nothing as for boring chelsea and boring borough, they had nothing on us today in the boring department I'm afraid!
  5. dreadful first half, non-event second half... commentator was crapping on about how much better we were in the 2nd half and that the shite must have been a bit nervous that we might score, but can only imagine he was saying that to keep the neutrals watching. we could have played until midnight we wouldn't have scored. the shite did what we do so well, got themselves in front and made sure it stayed that way - we were always gonna have more possession in the second half, pity didn't have a clue what to do with it. skrtel looked very strong. moaning about the ref is embarrassing, only complaint would be in the yellow cards given against us but not them, but no match-affecting decisions. the gulf between the two sides was as big as it's been the past few seasons. I think we'll take 8 points out of remaining 18, gets us to 65, should be enough for 5th.
  6. coming back to the topic, and I'm sure I'll get stick for this, but I'd like to sign shevchenko on a 2/3 year deal.
  7. not even as an early april fool's joke?
  8. jeez, speaking of women footballers: imagine if beattie had taken his top off after he scored....... :sick01:
  9. 2034: GOAL France 1-0 England Nicolas Anelka breaks into the area and takes the ball past David James before he is clattered by the England keeper. Clear penalty. Franck Ribery sends James the wrong way. Ribery takes off his shirt to reveal a tribute to commentator Thierry Gilardi - who died yesterday - and is promptly booked by the ref. you have got to be fucking kidding!!!!!!!!! "rules are rules", blah, blah, blah...... then change the fucking rules! rant over
  10. if by "did you forget him" you mean "do you think he's crap and shouldn't play" then yes, I forgot him
  11. I know it didn't work that well earlier in the season, but I'd really like Moyes to try moving jagielka back to right-back -- that will enable him to accomodate baines at left-back. jagielka was still finding his feet in those early games, so maybe he'll be better there now that he is more settled. ..................howard....................... jagielka.....yobo.....lescott.....baines ...................carsley....................... arteta.....osman.....fernandes.....pienaar ....................yakubu........................ damn, I would like to see that as a starting line-up!!!
  12. hey, I hope you get your wish!!! my first derby was the 1-0 victory at home in '04/'05, carsley scoring the winner then, so hope you get something similar! (having said that I was fortunate to have been living in the UK during that season - managed to get to 30-odd games and see us grab 4th spot!!!)
  13. yes, ignore the tone of the earlier bloke who told you to get lost, you are welcome to stick around. I quite like pompey, certainly more than most other clubs in the league. nice little stadium with a GREAT atmosphere (even if the drums are a bit irritating), and the side is far more interesting to watch than most of the clubs in the league. I don't think it's unrealistic for you guys to be chasing players of arteta's quality, but just think you need to look to players who should be playing at better clubs than they presently are or who aren't settled. arteta fits into neither category.
  14. well said romey! my take on arteta is that he's not good enough for the big 3 of man u, arse and chelsea and a move to any other other prem side would be a sideways move at best. unless a decent european, and most likely spanish, side makes a move for him, there's not much chance or point of him leaving us

    West Ham

we need another one fast or our season will have been fucked in the space of 7 days by fucking fulham and west ham
  16. we pretty much sign a new back-up keeper every year, so not much of a surprise here!
  17. Makhenkesi Stofile is a f*cking idiot -- just ignore anything he says
  18. Raccyboy

    West Ham

    3-1 yakubu (18th minute), cahill (27th and 60 minutes) cole (45th minute)

    Fulham (away)

2 half chances for yak, could have done better. Didn't see anything specific with AJ just started hobbling and off he went. if still 0-0 with 20/30 min to go, we really should throw on rodwell
  20. Raccyboy

    Fulham (away)

very poor 1st half from both sides, neither side looking like making a breakthrough. given our bench, not sure what we can do to turn it around, let's hope we find something somewhere.

    Fulham (away)

not optimisitic about this one, and the pressure from the shite getting 3 points before us is getting worse every week...... we just need to keep matching them until the derby and then take matters into our own hands then. got a feeling it'll be 1-1 today - hope I'm wrong
  22. Uefa Cup quarter-final draw: 1 Bayer Leverkusen v FC Zenit St Petersburg 2 Rangers v Sporting Lisbon 3 Bayern Munich v Getafe 4 Fiorentina v PSV Uefa Cup semi-final draw: Bayern Munich/Getafe v Leverkusen/Zenit Rangers/Sporting v Fiorentina/PSV I reckon we'd have been clear through to a final versus Bayern!
  23. quite right we had about 5 great chances from easy headers - cahill would have put one of those in
  24. spurs also out on penalties --- at least that makes me feel a bit better goodnight all!
  25. yeah I was livid after last week, but think after tonight, that is forgiven -- still maintain our approach last week was wrong, but they looked equally poor tonight. think it could be a function of the relative inexperience of both sides in europe. still that will give us more confidence for next season's CHAMPION'S LEAGUE campaign
