  1. feel sorry for those fans who made the trip hoping to see THAT team, instead of this negative rubbish
  2. missed a 3rd by half a foot
  3. commentator's words "everton came here to try and defend" obviously our 7 game unbeaten streak had nothing to do with trying to play attractive, attacking football
  4. MikeO, the team might be the same, the approach, attitude and resulting play is anything but......
  5. Shots on target - Fiorentina 10 Everton 1 Shots off target - Fiorentina 5 Everton 0
  6. there we go, johnson on for hibbert, now that the game is gone, let's react and try to do something...........seriously f*ck you moyes
  7. there you go 1-0 down..... we deserve to get fucked with the approach we took tonight moyes has fucked this one up royally we were playing well enough leading up to this to at least TRY to play football
  8. absolutely dire so far.... totally negative approach, we're there to keep a clean sheet that's it. worry is a total inability to hold onto the ball for any length of time. still a 1/2 hour to go, we keep this up they really should score at some point. hopefully we can grab 1 somehow and steal an undeserved win
  9. crap argument. no matter how thrilling an achievement the cl victory a fews years back was, any shite-supporter knows that almost 20 years without a league victory is utterly unacceptable for such a "big" club. so unless the "european cup winning manager" really doesn't give a shit about winning the league, his rotation policy clearly hasn't been the right way to go in trying to stop yet another season go by without a league championship.
  10. concern is that the shite are starting to show some consistency at the moment... if we want 4th we're gonna need some kind of result in each of arsenal, chelsea and rs... our record against the "big 4" is dreadful this season, that's gonna have to change -- if we can't beat them at our top form and with our most promising squad for years, we'll come short again
  11. don't think we should expect more than a draw out of this... hoping for 1-1, even a 2-1 loss will be okay, as long as we get at least one away goal - if we lose without scoring I'll be very worried about our chances of going through
  12. just to let you know about a bet I think looks quite generous: on betfair for everton to be the "winner without the big 4" you can still get 6/10 think that's quite generous seeing as we're 5 points clear of villa with a better goal difference and we still play them at Goodison. if I wasn't dirt-poor I'd have a few bob on that

at least I now know for sure I'm not the most negative everton supporter around!!!
  14. not sure if winning the league could top that!!!

got to say there were a good few of us who said he could f*ck off after the way him (or his agents, makes no difference) screwed us over in the summer. that, together with whatever theft accusations were levelled against him, should have been enough to show that he is a potential problem child with a questionable attitude and commitment. perhaps he's just not matured yet and needs the right manager to get the best out of him - maybe that will be moyes after all. but then again maybe he's just a twat a la' joey barton. anyway back to sunday 1-0 to us, fernandes replicating maradonna's jinxing goal from the half-way line in '86
  16. a good post, but I've still got a problem with the fact that aliadiere's slap has resulted in a harsher punishment than taylor's
  17. "Boro appealed on the grounds that the offence did not amount to violent conduct but a regulatory commission rejected the claim as "frivolous" and increased the mandatory three-match ban for the offence to four." okay, can't really argue that according to the laws of the game he deserved the red -- a stupid retaliation and raising his hands to an opponent but really two questions: 1) how on earth can they increase his ban from the standard 3 to 4 -- is that just to show teams not to make silly appeals against ref's decisions? 2) how does the "regulatory commission" not pick up on the provocative behaviour by mascherano that directly lead to the retaliation and punish him with a similar ban? it really is time to allow for retrospective yellow and red cards to be handed out by review committees to pick up on instances missed by the referee (similarly to rugby union, they could limit this only to incidents where the player was not already punished at the time by the ref). this would go a long way to stamp out the diving, cheating and ugly challenges that players otherwise think they can get away with.
  18. in this case, regardless of whether there was intent or not (can't make up my mind), some kind of lengthy ban must surely be in order
  19. sometimes it's great being proved wrong -- 2 goals, 1 off the bar and (as MikeO said) 1 blatant penalty denied..... what a great result this would be!
  20. interesting that betfair basically has the odds at: 19/10 man city 2/1 everton 21/10 the draw .....struggle to see us getting on the scoresheet with that line-up I'm afraid
  21. reading about chris coleman returning to coventry I was reminded about something I wrote when keegan returned to newcastle last month: "also don't understand how so many crap managers continue to circulate around the premiership. fair enough, some of them yo-yo between prem and championship, but so often you can just see these crap signings coming and know what the result will be within 6-12 months. rubbish like john gregory, david o'leary, stuart pearce, bryan robson, glen hoddle, gareth southgate and chris coleman will always be popping up and having 1-2 year spells before either getting sacked or getting relegated and THEN getting sacked." since then, robson got the sack and coleman returned! the exact roundabout, "piss off and we'll see you somewhere else soon" scenario. dunno how things went with coleman at real sociedad but here he is again to keep coventry in the middle of the championship while "aiming for the premier league". out of interest who are your top 3/bottom 3 premiership managers? top 3 1 - fergie 2 - wenger 3 - redknapp bottom 3 1 - southgate 2 - bruce 3 - keegan
  22. just imagine if those f*ckers hadn't pulled it off in those CL and FA Cup finals!!! how different things would have been... 20,000 average attendance at anfield new manager after new manager (probably turning to steve mclaren about now) no gerrard or torres somewhere between colchester and blackpool in the championship if only.........
