Henrik Larsson was 36 when he quit playing, and he was still banging in goals for the likes of Man Utd and Barcelona in his last 2 years. Hell he played against a veteran Man Utd side the other week and banged 2 goals in for Celtic. Age is just a number, its all about fitness. Merlene Ottey is 51, she competed in the last olympics and if i recall almost made the finals. Donovan is a brilliant signing for us if it happens.

Can Beckford lead the line? Yes, I really think he can and he has showed it before Can he link up play? Granted, not one of his strongest sides Can he hold the ball up? Yes he can, Beckford isnt that bad at all with his feet and he is fairly strong. Not Yakubu strong all be it but what he needs is quick support from our "wingers" In those 1327 minutes last season did he as much as challenge a centre half? Sure he did, plenty of times. Did he succeed? Haha, no not that often. It does however look quite good when he uses his pace and just places the ball beside his center half and makes a run for it. Statistics never lie in the long run and should never be ignored. Beckford should be our man this season, as someone said, Saha will probably end his career after this season, why wouldnt we play Beckford all year? I believe in him. If he gets a proper chance. I would however prefer it if Saha was playing next to him in a 442 to begin the season, and perhaps Saha should be replaced by Maggie when fit. We need to give him a proper run aswell. I realise that we wont play a 442 so its a bit of a dream.

Leave us with an injury prone Saha, an injured Guyue, an unproven velios, a broken Ani and bunch of youngsters and an unhappy/lazy Yakubu. Yes, lets sell Yakubu, no way in hell should we sell Beckford, unless we have a new number 1 lined up instead of Saha. (Buy, not loan Sturridge for example)

3 mill for Beckford is a joke anyways. worth atleast 5, probably more. I still have high hopes for him and i think he wil come good. Im with avinalaff on this, I think Beckford could score a lot more goals if he was given the correct passes. Perhaps not 30 but atleast 17-20. Keep him, he is young, only had what 1 full season in the prem? I think he will score double digits this year.

Swansea, sorry, thought they were too obvious I threw in Bolton so that I could put Everton at 8th or 9th. They looked quite impressive last weekend, granted it was rubbish opponents but they played quite well. However I actually do think that we can finish 6th, above Arsenal, Bolton and Villa.

I also agree, Hopefully 20 mill, more likely around 18 though. However, I read in swedish newspapers this morning that Arsenal are preparing a new bid for Gary Cahill. Why would they want both Cahill and Jags? Makes no sense to me.
