  1. Had it been a month ago, buying Finch Farm would have been a good start! Despite the reduced rental payments its still money we are pissing up the wall at the moment with no long term benefits.
  2. Here's the blurb Geth.. @GregOK: Roberto Martinez tells @AHunterGuardian that informal talks between #efc and Wigan over James McCarthy have taken place
  3. I don't see why everyone is so obsessed with 'sell-on value', Distin had no sell on value and he still serves us well?! I'm not saying I want Donovan as I think our team is too old, but if someone does well for the team why would we want to sell them, old or young?!
  4. I'm pretty sure you are being sarcastic, but I think it's highly unlikely that a members real name is Brett Angel! Regards Max-Moor
  5. I know what your saying, but you failed to list any of the players from Europe that have done well in the PL, and there have been lots. I think your argument is a tad bias!
  6. I realise that mate, but the way it's being discussed belies that it is jut a rumour!
  7. What's funny is that.. a) Everton have made no indication whatsoever that they want McCarthy (officially) b ) Wigan haven't put any price tag on him, let alone £15m (officially) c) If anything was going to happen, or has happened you'd hear it first from Dave Whelan, way before SSN or the rags. (Not officially, but it is DW!) Reading this forum you'd think McCarthy was the only midfielder in the world we could buy and considering its all sprouted from paper rumours I think this is getting a lot of wasted energy!
  8. Everton 2 WBA 0 Baines (pen) Maybe a tad too specific but that's what I thought when I got pienaars 20 yarder right last season ( and yes I'm still dining out on that!)
  9. Barry won't go anywhere to be cover, otherwise he'd just stay at City as cover... Surely the man we need who breaks up play and is very mobile around the pitch is what we already have...Fellaini. If he's good enough for the likes of Utd or Chelsea to want him as a holding midfielder then why isn't he good enough for us?
  10. I missed the first half, has our defence been this shite all game?!
  11. Come on Naisy put this to bed!
  12. I like you, you remind me of myself...

Just because he shares your view doesn't mean he's right or indeed anyone else agrees! Kenwright backed Moyes and put complete faith in him, he allowed him the freedom to express himself and buy players (which incidentally has given us a first team of full internationals). Look at some other chairmans buying players THEY want, or hiring Directors of Football that serve to undermine the manager. Haf, some Chairmen wouldn't allow Martinez the freedom to change the philosophy of this club. Considering you rate RM's philosophy so highly, you should be thankful that RM will be given the control over the club that allows him to put that into place?! I don't want to get into an argument about Kenwright, he infuriates me as much as you but I also think that his nature will actually benefit Martinez in the same way that Dave Whelan left Martinez to it.
  14. Hmm I think QPR was an exceptional case, they brought in something like 15 new players. Oh and they had Mark Hughes as manager!
  15. Yep and add to that 7.5 million for Cornelius. Close to 30 million spent by Cardiff. It's certainly a statement.
  16. I don't think it's fair to say Coleman is more important than Fellaini given that he terrorizes the right as, Fellaini would never need to do that. Same goes for Pienaar, just because he has a role on the left, doesn't make him more important than Felli (or more difficult to replace, in fact I'm certain there are better options than Pienaar out there! I do understand what you are saying and I agree to a point that Fellaini is a player that cleans up the midfield, and in order to replace him we just need to find someone similar. However, I do think that other players in the team could be just as easily replaced, bar Baines probably.
  17. I sort of understand your Tony Blair analogy but considering he took us to an illegal and unjustified war with Iraq, he shouldn't be any near the Middle East, let alone as a peace envoy! Maybe that's a little harsh on Moyes.
  18. It begs the question, how can you be losing so much money on merchandise?! Like I said before, they took the easiest option available which was 3 million a year. Great. However it doesn't allow us to grow as a commercial entity or try and get more exposure/wider fan base.
  19. It's a bloody joke isn't it!? How long does this dastardly contract last for again? It's so short sighted, its like saying: "Hey, I found a buyer for my car on the day I decided to sell it! Yep..webuyanycar.com . They've given me a CRACKING price, they promised to put the money in my account tomorrow to save me the hassle of doing anything. Who'd want to try and make more money elsewhere when that involves time and effort?! I noticed the neighbours sold their car for way more than mine on autotrader but oooooh that's very risky isn't it?! I think I'm happy with my lot, besides, money isn't important to me anyway." Or something like that.
