  1. this was my reaction, they're not quite the same type of player. But again, based on my memory
  2. my footballing maturity wasn't all that when viera was at his prime, so I would say yes, he's better. But based on what I remember
  3. 20 goals a season will be a walk in the park if a ) he stays fit and b )he gets the service to play to his strengths. At WBA he played as a super sub and got 17 in 35. This season he's improved (in terms of expanding his playing time and game) and still got 14 in 30. "We can't afford is not an excuse"; if we use that excuse we will never grow, and also we are not in the same financial position as we have been. We have cash this year. We need to show arrogance and believe, and if we sign squad players to add depth, it means nothing if there no goals. Rom brings in goals and goals win games. Worth every penny of 15m (considering my previous explanations). Still, unfortunately think we will miss out anyway
  4. you giving odds? Anyone know if Clattenburg is rffing the City or Shite game?
  5. Yaya Toure is the best player around in my eyes. I don't see any flaw
  6. great post. where he belongs with Martinez guiding him. Settled, one of the best managers we have seen and a great young prospect. I get tingles thinking about it (might me linked to wine and grappa)
  7. he's proven to be a 1 in 2 game striker. Look at the averages... Oh, thanks Steve!
  8. they are, and unbearable. But as I've maintained, it would be good for the city, football and some of my friends and family. Still enjoying it though!
  9. I know I've been wanting Liverpool to win over mega money and anti football, but I can deny I'm enjoying this
  10. not sure this has been posted before:

  12. Completely agree, think Ive been consistent in saying 13-15m plus some add ons since we paid 5m for his loan spell. Wont bother arguing the rest, we've gone round this dancefloor regarding age, experience etc.
  13. and I would be happy to have Naismith starting up front as our striker, I think he earned his place when Rom was injured around New Years. Agree but still, how much do would these cost for the same results: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/premier-league/top-scorers Also interesting, Rom has scored twice as many as any of our other players, despite trying to develop his game further (if Marks statement is correct): Lukaku - 15 Naismith - 9 Mirallas - 8 Im really nervous as to where those 15 extra goals are going to come from. I think the question is, do you want an immediate impact player whos more refined, but older and will have less sell on value (Remy or Bony for example, though Bony will disappear for a while with the ACON), or do you want to invest in an extremely promising prospect whos scoring goals already and can only improve?
  14. Dont remember hearing that, but makes sense. Personally I wouldve preferred to keep playing to his strengths. Either way, 14 goals in 28 games is bloody brilliant, especially if hes not playing his natural style!
  15. I'd rather he didnt play. No point pushing him back for a useless game, would rather play a youth squad and let him continue to recover. Theres no benefit for him or us by coming back now.
  16. I'd love him to go but completely agree with him; if hes not ready, he shouldnt go.
  17. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2014/05/06/naismith-takes-april-award well deserved
  18. Machete Kills. Fucking A-fucking-mazing. Instant top 10 of all time. No joke.
