  1. I am one of the doubters happily to be proved wrong mate. I agree this is his season to show what he can do and to be fair to the lad he did have a nasty injury o get back from. I would like to see him prove me wrong but i am sceptical.
  2. I'am sorry mate, i cant agree. I have never been a fan of Anichebe so its abit of a biased view from me, i think he is lazy and got a attitude problem. His touch is woeful. He has strength and agression on his side yes but without any other qualities i cant see him staying at Everton too much longer if we want to progress. I would like to be proven wrong by him and for him to do well. If he does nothing all game and doesnt run and scores goals then i wouldnt moan but he does all that except the goals. I would much rather see us spend some money on a skillful and pacey wide man for the right then give him a chance. I wouldn't begrudge the lad some playing time like as cover or against small teams but i cant see him being progressing enough to stay at us for a long time.
  3. I agree to the sale of Yobo and Vic but alot of people seem tho think Vic is our next option for right mid? I think he is poor and should only be used as a squad player at most. Sessegnon would be ideal for us, pacey, tricky and has got flair. If peanuts goes i wouldnt mind either him or donnovan as a replacement. There was talk of yobo leaving this summer but i cant see moyes letting him go without a replacement centre-half. Last year we got Senderos for cover so i cant see moyes making our squad any smaller without replacing Yobo. I have a suspicion we will go in for Mikel Silvestre as cover. Typical moyes signing, versatile, proven and would take the role as cover at a club like us. I would have said duffy might of been the cover but after his injury i just cant see that happening. Then again i would prefer us to buy players such as sessegnon without having to sell peanuts or any other player.
  4. Totally agree with most of that. The only part is Maybe Vic. Maybe Coleman.. Anichebe is terrible IMO, he cannot be our option if pienaar or arteta goes, it would be laughable! Coleman can go forward fairly well but i see him as our next rightback for years. Wouldnt like to change his training to accomodate for a right winger and hamper his defensive abilties which IMO he needs to work on to get to the standard we all believe he can. End of the day we cant lose both of them...... If we are to lose one i would prefer it to be peanuts
  5. Can't agree with you there at all, he was only just back from injury in the derby! IMO Arteta gives us something no other player in the squad can give us Totally agree! We cannot let him go for any amount of money! As i have said before we need to build the team around him and rodwell, rodwell is the future and arteta is the only player with that extra bit of flair and imagination. Felli will be a hugely important player for us in that role next season. I hope peanuts stays but i cant see it happening so donnovan would be a good replacement. I love jonny at centre half but i can see moyes playing distin due to him being left footed. the team next year i think will be (if peanuts goes). Basically the formation used in the world cup for Germany n Spain. Howard Neville Jags Distin Baines Fellaini Jonny Donnovan Cahill Arteta King
  6. I know what you mean without arteta actually but he is the main creative force and when it was both him and pienaar together we looked alot better. Bit harsh to critise his tempo when he had just come back from injury though? It was a poor decision on Moyes's part if anything, but we were lacking in numbers and it was probably to show the fans he is nearing full fitness. This shows how important he is to us becoming a top side again. That midfield is not a decent one IMO, it is narrow and as you pointed out no real creative flair. It proved last year we need pace, width and guile on the flanks. with peanuts and donnovan both providing us with this,,, we are crying out for a out n out right winger. but i would much rather focus our attention on keeping arteta than worry about citeh's interest in donnovan.
  7. I'd much prefer to sign younger players with no egos and develop them for cheap I totally agree. However if we are going to try and break into the lucrative champions league places we need to add quality aswell as bring in young players to develop and sadly we live in a money environment so it looks like money will evidently have to talk in some cases. Look at Rodwell how much he has come on, Coleman the same. We are a club who can nurture great young prospects... rooney, jeffers (touted as the next big thing, although greed and lifestyle ruined his career). It does scare me though that soon as our players gain a repuatation they are surrounded by intense speculation about moves to other clubs. I hope we can break this cycle of breeding great young players and selling them on, it looks like we are trying to do this by getting rodwell to a long contract but without investment we are always going to be suspect to losing our young players to big bids. I agree with Song, when he went on loan at Charlton a few years ago i was preaching for Moyes to get him on a loan deal or launch a cheeky bid. He looks a real player! I think Felli is going to be a force in defensive midfield in a few years. I think some people forget he also is very young. I am hugely excited for this season, if we can keep hold of our players such as arteta and jags i think we can be in for a very exciting season.
  8. hahaha 9 million are they having a laugh!!! give me 20 million, luis fabiano and jesus navas and i might think about it. We seriously cannot let this guy leave for no amount of money! he is the heartbeat of our team without him we look average. 24 million for Lescott, at least double that for Mikel.
  9. I would rather have a player who has spoke about his desire to join us (donnovan) than a player who has been quiet all through the summer about wanting to stay and waiting for the biggest offer to come in (pienaar). I think pienaar is class and would love to see him still here and sign a new deal but IMO he wants to go, if he was staying he would have came out and said i want to stay, its up to the club now. The fact that arteta's agent is saying it will be difficult for him to move because we are asking for alot is the more worrying never mind City's interest in Donnovan. If this is the only reason why he is staying then that raises concerns for me. We need to build our team around this magician and rodwell IMO, he his the creative influence we need so much and it would send us backwards if he goes.
  10. 2:46 Football Editor: According to reports in France, Newcastle United are trying to sign AC Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini and Marseille attacker Hatem Ben Arfa, with both players understood to be open to a move to St James' Park. This is off SSN site..... be a shame to see him (Ben Arfa)go there but Newcastle can offer higher wages than us even though the are a newly promoted team!! But if he has any sense and wants to join a club with real European aspirations he should really join us! I would actually take both of the players mentioned, i was suprised when Arsenal let Flamini go as they are crying out for a defensive midfield player.
  11. They can do one if they are thinking they can get him for 12 million! Especially when players like milner, ashley young and co are priced at 20 million plus! although they are younger, Mikel has the quality to get into any top European team! I would be happy if Jags and Mikel stay, thats our main priority! Not bothered about Pienaar, sell him to Inter and get Landon!
  12. Good move, he wasn't going to get a chance in our 1st team this year with Silva and Guaye ahead of him in the pecking order. Good to see him test himself in a better league i agree!
  13. I like Muntari but he is known to have a few strops... don't think he would fit in at us, he would want to be the big am IMO. Good player though. I would like us to get a winger off them if its money plus a player. Anyone know of any decent ones they might have who could move to us?? Don't rate that Obinna but then again i have only seen him in the world cup.
  14. Not really seen much of him but what i have he seems decent so lets hope jonny has a word with him and Van der Vaart and Gregory Van de Weil.
  15. Depending on his price and wages i would take him. Moyes is thought to be after a experienced midfielder to bolster the squad and he fits the bill perfectly... he is a quality player with bags of experience. Still gets a game in the Brazil team so he surely good enough for us. I wouldnt say no to him but as you say his wages might be high so it depends on that.
  16. Having a medical at Bolton according to Sky Sports News but a deal is far from being struck as Bolton have a long way to convince him to sign... I cannot get the link up for some reason.. stupid work computer!!!
  17. They must be having a laugh for 1 million!!! I would be asking fro at least 3, injuries or not he is still 21 and has shown what he can do when he is fit.... i say loan him out to Celtic or evn Bolton with an option to buy at teh end of the loan spell. Then at least we can see if he is going to progress and then we have the option to either sell or keep him. I like Vaughan, its a shame his knees where constructed out of glass!!
  18. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11671_6218051,00.html His agent is a bad turd! I agree i woudln't break the bank for him, sell him for 15mill and get a decent player or 2 in.
  19. Well there is a suprise that a transfer fee is our stumbling block!!! I would like to see him at us but i can't see it happening. No harm in hoping though!
  20. i would take him at everton. He worked well under Hughes, so it seems he like a manager who will discipline him and not a fat waiter or a fruit wearing a scarf so I think he would work well under Moyes. He is pacey, got a eye for goal and works hard. I like the Yak but i think he is on his way and i think Bellamy would be a good signing, he can also operate on the wing which is an added bonus. All depends on the money though. I wouldnt be paying over 8-10 mill for him. Bring Landon back to Goodison!
  21. If he is that bothered about the Everton fans he should just say "I want to repay the faith Everton put in me... I'am staying and signing a contract extension". Let him go I say... get 15million for him is great business! We can always find a replacement, sure Moyes will spring a worldy signing out of the bag for 2million and then they will be world class AGAIN! I would prefer him to go to Bayern though or any team abroad.
  22. That's why i put his preferred destination is West Ham?? It was a rumour to us on the page so i put it up that's the only reason, Relax.
  23. Its on sky sports news. Doesn't look like a Moyes type of signing due to his age like but he still quality.
  24. Juan Roman Riquelme is reportedly looking to move to the Prem with West-Ham his preferred destination... he is looking at the prospect of playing with scott parker and hitzelburger!!! We aswell as Spurs are RUMOURED to be one of the 5 english teams interested in him according to SSN. Surely Moyes can tempt him to us??? We have fellaini, arteta and jonny surely Riquelme would prefer to work with top class players like that instead of a villa reject and parker?? I would love to see Riquelme at us... he is a class act and would add that extra bit of quality and flair we need in the middle. Come on Moyes get him at Everton!
  25. Reports suggest Moyes is after an experienced midfield player to help bolster the centre of the park, Marchena can play in a defensive midfield role aswell as centre-half so this could be the reason?? I reckon if he cheap then he could provide decent enough cover for the defence and get pushed into midfield if we get any injuries.
