Gone a little bit flat in the last 5-10 mins. Maybe time for Mirallas to come on for Naismith.

My worry with Heitinga is that he just goes walkies when we are defending. He obviously sees someone he thinks he should be marking and strolls after them regardless of who else is making runs into his area of the field.

Great football again and good run from Osman. He takes the freekick and then busts a gut to get around the box.

To be fair to Naismith, he gets himself into some great positions but his technical ability when he is there is limited. Barkley is in a different world to the rest of them.

Kone does everything right there too. Tries lifting it over the keeper with pace but he makes himself big and its a very good save.

We were behind against Norwich and we came back. We should be a hatful ahead and its our lack of quality in the final third that is letting us down as it did with Moyes. I think we are playing as well as we did under Moyes which is impressive considering it took Moyes years to bring any style to our game (albeit starting with a poor squad). We have created a lot of chances in at least two of our 3 games and we have kept hold of the ball better. We will play like this for 90% of the season whereas under Moyes it was more like 40-50%.

I forgot to add Hibbert to the sore thumb list but at least he is just returning to the first team.

Yeh I agree, just not putting the ball away! Its working well too and I think he just needs to put one of these away and he will be away. Thought we have played quite well myself. I think Naismith and Osman are standing out like sore thumbs, especially the latter. One moment that summed it up for me was when Osman ran 5 yards with the ball and played it to Deulofue and Deulofue knocked it back to Osman so that he could run in behind but Osman had stopped straight after the pass instead of moving into the space Deulofue was expecting. Little things like that make a big difference.

He really is. I really like the way he is dropping into the back 4 to make the passes easier but also to create more space in midfield and to give the CB with the ball more time. Stones is playing well too. Lovely cross field ball a couple of mins ago.

Deulofue with a cracking shot, just wide though.

Heitinga understands this system so much more than Osman. Always available for the pass.

Really? Both are going to cost similar amounts it seems and whilst VM wages will be higher he is a proven premiership performer and IMO has more potential as well as current ability.

I would have expected him to at least be on the bench if he was in RM's plans. Just seems a bit odd otherwise.
