  1. $28m could prove to be a bit of a steal as odd as that sounds...
  2. Yes. Experience. Winner. International. Proven. Not going to get many people with those attributes cheap. I know this should never be a consideration for a transfer, but also the exposure we get in some international markets would also be a big boost...
  3. Striker (back up) Winger (Rotation) CB (1st team quality) GK - although a good one wont be realistic till summer.
  4. Incredible gesture from the club. I do understand a lot of people moaning about giving him effectively his third chance at a pro career but its the gesture as a whole that makes me proud to support this club. How many clubs wash their hands clean once a player leaves the club. Whilst as a club we exist to make money and (hopefully) win trophies, it shows that we sill have a soul when so many clubs can easily be accused of being (and are) soulless. And at the end of the day he is on effectively a nothing contract.
  5. Very pacey. Good touch. Finishes well. Good composure. Always worried about Euros coming to the league though.
  6. We bid 19 and they want 24? Just cough it up, don't want this one to get away from us...
  7. William and Funes Mori have to be our choice pairing going forward. That being said, knowing a player like Jags is coming off the bench waiting for them to slip up and the his spot back should be enough to continually push Mori to get rid of those things in this game that leave our hearts in our mouths. Agree with Shy, Jags has been an absolute pro, surely when things hit the skids the last few years he could have chased money and European football but didn't. While he still has something to offer he will be great as a back up and mentor, especially if we get a Keane or Van Dijk.
  8. We missed our chance not signing him when he left Celtic, monumental balls up. Highly doubt we're in with a chance with the like of City and Chelsea now paying him some attention.
  9. Don't have money: linked with players we will never sign Have money: Linked with every player 'on the out' at current club I would love this to happen, but being linked with Brandt, Mertens and Depay all in the same window seems like lazy journalism. *shock horror* As others have said, would love to see it happen, already playing at high level and seems to have a fair bit of development to come. Could be class.
  10. Could be a smart signing to add some quality and depth to the squad if we are really looking at that 5th/6th spot in January. With Gana off to ACON as previously stated, could be a handy replacement/depth player once he returns. No one should be under the illusion this would be a permanent move, more just a short term one to help us take that first step back into Europa before pressing on with the signings next summer. But as with all Eveton rumors, no point really talking about it till something actually happens....
  11. Hart would serve two purposes, a number one keeper and a big name signing. I really wanted him but I'm glad RK isn't being sucked into spending stupid amounts of money on a player surplus to another club. Hart MAY be a slightly better keeper than Begovic on his day but showing good business sense and that we are doing this build right.
  12. Can we have the Moutinho links come back now we have some moneys?
  13. I have two train of thoughts about this whole thing.. Optimistic me: There are a lot of good candidates floating around. With new investment and everything forward, I think we need to shake the 'unrealistic' tag from some of the names floated. If all reports are to be believed, we have 100m sitting around waiting for whoever walking in the door to spend. Not to mention the TV money and whatever we make SHOULD Stones or Rom throw the toys out of the cot and demand a transfer. After fees and taking some off the top to service debt there is at least another 50m added to the transfer chest. On top of being able to meet wage demands and bring in the backroom staff of the new managers choice, you're telling me that a Mou, Emery etc wouldn't have their heads turned at the prospect of that kind of warchest? Whoever we get, I'm more confident with Moshiri making decisions. Being a successful businessman he is used to headhunting the best first and not just going with 'the realistic options' because frankly we will never become a bigger club unless we start thinking like one. I would be baffled if we haven't made contact with Jose et al already. We may not get them but its better than being safe and only approaching who we think we can get out of fear of rejection. Lastly, I think Moshiri will be looking for a more ruthless manager than Bill and his board would have, not someone who sells the club well and speak well to the media and is a likeable gentleman. Stuff that sentiment. You know what sells the club and brings in fans, winning. Pessimistic/Everton me: All that stuff I just said is rubbish. We aren't attractive enough for top managers and at the end of the day we will sign Moyes/Hughes/Rafa and be playing Championship is 3 years.
  14. Dreams 1. Mou 2. Lowe 3. Pelligrini ------ Realistic 4. De Boer 5. Emery 6. Koeman
  15. Sign him up just cause his FIFA stats will still be good and playing with him and Lukaku up front will be boss.
  16. Turning down some bloke because of a dicky knee, didn't we do this with Demba Ba as well? ...Yeah he turned out to be a dud too...
  17. Stuff it, sell them both. If we can get 50m+ for the pair, do it. Add 2-3 players into the squad and a large chunk of the debt is gone.
  18. Every time I see one of these rumours I tell myself not to get excited, but I still do...
  19. Reports suggesting he is not in the squad for the Napoli game. IT'S ON!
  20. again not a rumor, but Mark Bresciano is available on a free after his contract has expired at Palermo. handy player, wants to stay in Europe, any chance?
  21. Doesn't matter about funds, this is exactly why we need to move in for him. We should have won the Birmingham match, same as many others this season but we didn't have a finisher when it mattered.
  22. I don't think it matters that BK isn't rubbing shoulders with Bill Gates, while I don't completely like the idea and the way things are going, Football loving Billionaires are going to buy any club they can to turn into their own real life fantasy football side. If Pompey and even Man City can get a massive buyout while being in the Championship less than a decade ago I find it hard to believe that no one at all is interested in buying a club with a passionate fan base, a good solid base squad to build on and has continually overachieved in term of league finishes over the past few seasons. Over the last two years there have been reports of billionaire or consortium's looking to buy our club. September 08 we had reports of the Indian bloke, Anil Ambani and even in April this year we had a UAE group sniffing around. While the media, in particular the British media do not always tell 100% of the story all the time, these stories can not just be pulled out of thin air on a slow news day, there has to be some base fact to the rumor/story. I understand that Bill loves this club, as we all do, but if he really does then how can he sit back and see us slip from knocking on the door for the four to a mid table, mediocre club? While we are not a big club our good players and bright prospects will be poached by bigger clubs with more money (Rooney, Lescott and Rodwell may be next). If we do not attract the right investors then that's exactly what we will be doomed too, no matter how good our manager is, if he too isn't tempted away by a club not just on his pay check but to spend in the market. BTW this has to be a joke right; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes%27_list_of_the_most_valuable_football_clubs Forbes has us in the top 25 richest clubs (24 this year) and the past few we have been up to 21..
