  1. Good to hear McGeady is finally willing to 'track back' as we rarely witnessed that when he played for the Celtic. He also seems to know his way to the goals now and hopefully his final ball has improved. Potentially he has what it takes but too often fails to produce the goods. Hail Hail !!!!!!!!
  2. I've got the vote this Thursday and still don't know what way I'm going to vote. Too many lies and false promises from both sides and particularly Westminster with they're panic ridden promises. They're last minute promises have made some people more determined to vote yes due to the 'insulting and patronising' statements. Also we have been finding the BBC bias in their reporting and showing the No campaign in a more prominent and positive way. So I'll make up my mind on Thursday when I get into the polling station.
  3. The big difference is that we have 'hard workers' but not enough truly talented players. When Arsenal scored their fourth goal 3 players stood together ' Ozil, Giroud and Rosicky' who would all walk into and strengthen Everton but we can't afford to compete with their financial power, which is the case with all the teams at the top of the EPL.. Also our subs seemed to be thrown on as a panic measure with no real thought about position or their role.
  4. Forgot to mention McCarthy who just happened to be MOM in yesterdays match against West Ham. and Naismith who was a close second for MOM
  5. There's a long list and there is also a long list of ex SPL players playing throughout the EPL at the moment.
  6. Everton have done well with many of these 'Inferior' footballers from the SPL and you show your lack of knowledge with statements such as 'Van Dyke or whatever his name'. I can assure you that you will know Van Dijk, in the future, as he is the real deal.
  7. Definitely, need a CF, especially against the top 8 in the EPL. To often yesterday the midfield were shrugged off the ball by Chelski defenders even before we got near their area. Also agree that Distin is starting to show his age and being caught out too often. Though he did have a great game up to the last minute where he should have either cut out the cross or prevented JT getting near the ball. RM should look to get an early bid in on Virgil Van Dyke (Celtic), he's only in his early 20's and has been outstanding since signing with the Celts. He has already been enquired about by Arsenal and Man. City. He has two good feet, height , great control and can read a game brilliantly. I know we (the Celts) won't be able to hold onto him long, so would love to see him play for Everton. Hail Hail !
  8. Whatever strip they bring out, hopefully they start selling them up here (Glasgow). Quite a number of guys I know, are always on the lookout for an Everton top but rarely ever sold in a sport shop up here. I managed to get one a few years back (2010 season) and got Cahill 17 on the back. Still wear it every week at 5's. Any tops I buy now is through Everton Direct but still on the lookout for the white training top that had the green Chang logo on it.
  9. Didn't manage to see any of the game (only the goals ) this weekend but seem to get the impression McGeady was back to the same form he showed at Celtic. Flashes of greatness but final pass, shot, etc.. a let down. Hopefully he will be more consistent when fully fit but he will be frustrating a high percentage of the time. Hail Hail ! Kev Mirallas goal World Class
  10. Stones only good up to the oppositions 40 yard then he runs out of ideas and looks to turn back. He needs to be able to take on the back and get behind defence. Was disappointed in Baines as he rarely went to the bye line and looked for the easier option. Just have to beat Villa in next match.
  11. Mirallas was the only positive of tonight but he had no one to feed his final ball too. No good having more passes if it comes to nothing. What was the shooting stac's? That's where it counts, especially when they're on target.
  12. Need to move the ball quicker at the back to midfield, we're allowing them to pressure us and too often we are turning back to Howard. Pienaar not up for the game, rarely got the final ball to an Everton man. Move Mirrallas in beside Ross Barkley and McCarthy just behind them, with McGeady out wide. I'd hook Pienaar now.
  13. :dont know: Keep the Faith! Don't know what's all this negative talk about? Everton are a different team under RM as we will attack and press the game, whereas under Moyes we sat back.
  14. They'll have the financial backing by then and will 'purchase honestly' this time, players that will ensure they are fighting for top spot. They will probably drop some points to the likes of Aberdeen (making big improvements), Dundee United, Hibs and Motherwell but will probably make second or third place on the first season back. My only worry is when they come back the bigoted nonsense will start up again, as a high number of Rangers fans blame everyone else for their troubles and have threatened to 'sort out' the rest when they are back in the SPL. They have this belief that they are 'above' the rest and have a divine right to be at the top, a bit like your Merseyside neighbours.
  15. Liverpool's biggest weakness is their defence, with wide players and a direct approach they will be pulled in all directions. Look at the way Villa got at them, not for the first time and RM will put his team out to do just that. It will also mean Smelly Git will be run of his feet in his 'quarter back' role., which he doesn't have the pace for. My only worry is that 'Skelator and his crew' are allowed to pull, haul and foul without being 'seen' by the man-in-black, again. Also that 'The Diver' is allowed to get away with his theatrical actions and manages to con free kicks and penalties.
  16. Great news! RM is obviously got the players believing in him and hopefully he will further strengthen the defence in the summer.
  17. Have to agree that the standard of football being in the SPL is pretty poor overall but you can only play and beat what put in front of you. Many Celtic season ticket holders (me included) miss matches due to the game and score line being predictable. No competition = No enjoyment The League Rangers are in is closer to Conference level as most of the teams are part time with plumbers, joiners, etc.. playing. Rangers being full-time and with some international standard players (debatable) can win their games reasonably easily. We do need the competition and the weekly pressure to raise the standards and the 'look behind you' factor. The reason Celtic and Rangers are covered by Sky and BT is solely due to the supporter base. The thing that annoys me with the media coverage of EPL is the lack of respect shown to Everton. It's constant coverage of Man. U, Chelsea, Liverpool and particularly that diving little *******d . Its as if the rest of the league should pay homage to them and lie down and have their bellies rubbed. They seem to forget that Everton have beaten or drawn with them all ( except Man. City) but still they talk about Liverpool making top 4 and we're hardly given a mention.
  18. Talk in some Scottish papers about 'Sevco' aka The Rangers going into administration again. Possibly to be deducted 25 points, if it happens which will not affect them in their mighty quest to conquer the 1st Division aka Old 2nd Division. As they say 'There's no smoke without fire'
  19. I have to agree with Bailey as I was a frustrated Celtic Supporter (season ticket holder) with Aiden McGeady on numerous occasions. He does do some brilliant things on the ball, with some fancy footwork and great tricks but the final ball or shot were too often poor. I know and taught with his dad John (had to give up football due to knee injuries ) and he was a small but stocky built man, so Aiden has taken after him. When Aiden was at Parkhead he was too skinny and light, so some extra weight will make him physically stronger and better for the EPL. RM will get the best out of him, as will the team as he will open out the game by keeping wide and his final ball should be much better now through experience and knowledge of the game. Hail Hail
  20. James McCarthy is a good honest team player who has worked hard at his game to get to where he is now. As stated before, he has been bought at an inflated price but that's what happens when teams are scrambling to buy/sell players at the last minute. He'll work hard for his team and make space for others to show their talent. I wanted him to sign for the Celtic when he was about to leave Hamilton but he probably made the right choice going to Wigan, as he has developed quickly in English football. Hail Hail !
  21. Hi Zoo, That's the one! Have tried e-bay, etc.. can't get it anywhere. Is it a large and are you interested in a swap or sale?
  22. This was my was probably my favourite Everton top. Always wore it to 5's and took the 'p*Ss' out of Colin Reid who supported the 'manky mob'. I'm looking for the white Everton training top (L or M) with green Chang Logo from about 2010 season. Will swap a Celtic top or pay cash, can anyone help?
  23. Keep Moyes, but he needs to be more positive in his approach to the game, with an attacking approach that keeps teams on the 'backfoot' for longer periods of the game. Too often the formation, tactics are cautious and predictable, which leaves us open to defeat against lesser teams. The cup semi-final was a perfect example of this and allowed us to be chasing lost balls and allowed 'them' to dictate play and control all aspects of the game. I agree that winning a trophy is well overdue and I feel it is more down to a ' inferior mindset' rather than just a lack of resources.
  24. I'm a Celtic/Everton fan and would say that Naismith would be a good signing. He has a good football brain, reasonable skill and Moyes is the type of manager who will get the best out of him. As for Jelavic, I wish he had played for the Celts, as he can score from any position, leads the line well and holds up the ball to bring others into the game, which has been missing at Goodison for a number of years. You need to stop thinking players from the SPL are not up to the EPL, Jelavic has proved that in the past few months. Hope to be down to Goodison for a few games this season and hopefully we get off to a better start than the previous 5 years. Hail Hail !
