  1. Comes off the bench in extra-time, scores only goal of game in 119th minute and takes place in folklore.
  2. Apologies all - having started this thread myself I wish I had done my homework first and then posted. Anyhow - there are specifically designated pubs. Everton fans need to get to Wembley High Road and I have called 2 pubs and they have both confirmed that they are open to us - JJ Moons and The Bear (which I think are almost next door). Seems like United get the pubs close to Wembley Park. I'll be trying JJ Moons first.
  3. Just to say that we will be trying The Torch, near to Wembley Park Station from 12. I can't be doing with the links but beerintheevening is a website to search for precise address etc. Please keep in mind that some pubs close to the grouns will literally be closed so drink where you can!
  4. They can have Clive Thomas for all I care. I predict an Everton win.
  5. Thanks for these. Also read that The Old Bell in Kilburn is a destination. But the ticket only event that Patto mentions sounds great.
  6. I really hope I am not being insensitive to those of you that are still trying to get a ticket for the semi (good luck with finding one), but for those that are going, any thoughts on which pub to go to for the hours before the game? Determined to make a day of it and hopefully we can have the place bouncing.
  7. If he can get a reserve game in next week, could be a sub for the semi-final, someone to use if we need a goal with 15minutes left. But as said above, main thing is that they don't rush him if he's not ready.
  8. If you use the principle of picking up points equally over the course of the season, then its about 1.5points per game. 7 games to go equals say 10 or 11 points - 3 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats. Anything more would be good going given that we can't really afford to lose any more to injury. If we finsih 6th and go out in the semi we should once again comgratulate Moyes, the coaching staff and the squad. Anything more would have course be very welcome!
  9. I have a slight feeling that Rhino may just be one of the very few players/ex-players to take a look on here every now and then. If do see these emails Unsy, then hopefully you will take a small bit of pleasure from the graitude of Blues. A loyal servent and a modern day player who gelt pride in wearing the shirt. The fact that you were in the Gwladys Street for the Derby the other season speaks volumes for you. Let us not forget that he has an FA Cup winners medel and that he played a key role in getting the Moyes era off to a flier in DM's first game in charge. All the best David.
  10. Get in, get in, get fooking in. Walk tall tomorrow Blues.
  11. Rest the boys physically this week, just drill home the tactics and do some more imaginative set piece work. I'll save my final words for Wednesday..
  12. I find it extraordinary that they can change fixtures at such short notice. If its true, I am pleased that we get a bigger gap until the replay, but for the good of the game and the paying customers (who may well have other plans for the Saturday, some may have booked travel, accommodation etc for the Monday, this is a surprising move. Surprised the police don't object also.
  13. Yakubu, Arteta, Felliani, Saha, Vaughan. A club that has limits in terms of its depth. Playing against a side top until we prevented that, with players as massively talented as Torres, Gerrard as well as the likes of Alonso, Mascherano and subs such as Riera. Was it negative? Yes. Was it a good achievement to get two draws there in a week. Yes, very much so. I for one am proud of what team spirit achieves.
  14. Agree with the comment about Gosling above - this lad is going to be a really decent player for us. Doesn't seem to get fazed at all, looks to make a decent pass, has got forward in other games. I am confident that he is going to save us a fortune and make himself a regular in a season or so. As for today, delighted that we got out of there with a draw, we really let them come on to us. Another great defensive performance, bring back the Big Fella..
  15. Lets face it, they have good players that can come in so its not like the team they put out will be weak - we are talking about players such as Mascherano, Babel and Benayoun coming in possibly. Two, if not all three, of those players would be in a starting 11 for us even with all available.
  16. Play our best side and give it a go. Its the FA Cup and if we win the tie then who knows. Could be tempted to start with Rodwell or Gosling instead of Big Vic, using him as an impact sub for the last 20 minutes if we're in the game and as defenders start to tire. But lets give it a go.
  17. Great support and its going to be superb with the much larger numbers that we will have there on Sunday.
  18. Going to need every fit player we can for the rest of the season, so I hope his comeback goes well and he's ready in a few weeks for a place on the bench.
  19. Oops, accodently hit send. Was going to say that the silence at the end of the game in the pub I was in last night was so telling - Reds fans knew that they had probably just blown the title, it was written all over their faces. To be honest thought we were lucky to get the point - they should have had a penalty and Howard did superb to narrow the angle for the chance that Torres had, likewise Baines saving tackle saved us. But a great reward for hanging in there and being dogged.
  20. I watched in a pub in Chelmford. There were plenty of Reds and a spattering of us Blues. T
  21. As per all the other comments, no deal. Baines is cementing himself the LB slot. If we sell him we would end up losing Lescott too when he gets fed up at being played at LB. There are very few that I would sell (except for silly money) until we get hold of some meaningful cash again.
  22. So, a massive week is upon us. Like the rest of you I'm sure, that combination of nerves, excitement and feisty-ness is churning around. However, I think there is something important here and as a set of supporters we need to be honest enough to take a look at ourselves (or at least at the fellow Blues involved). The chants. I don't want to be all high and mighty about this but lets be honest we are losing the goodwill that others give to us when it comes to playing against Liverpool. The Gerrard chants - all the media do is highlight it, everyone tuts at what we are like and we lose the moral argument. That is without mentioning the fact that I am sure we just egg Gerrard on to play even better - and lets be honest he's a simply phenomenal player that can destoy us, so why gee him up? I am sure there will be chants that relate about his upcoming court case and I'm sure that is probably ok, But lets leave the other ones out. We love our club. We spend so long talking about how our players perform when they pull on the shirt and whether they are doing their best to represent the great institution that is Everton. But players come and go - always have, always will. But as a group of supporters we represent our club more. Sure, lets have some banter with the Dark Side (sad day if that ends) and more importantly lets get behind the Blues to urge the team on. As I say, I know I risk sounded boring and a jumped up squirt about this. But just like you, I bloody love Everton Football Club and don't want us dragged through the mud. Oh one more thing...wear your shirts with pride this week boys. We're Blue.
  23. At our club he only works in a 4-5-1 but in that role he is a fantastic player. There have been too many wanting us to play 4-4-2 as a perception that its more attacking. 4-5-1 plays to our strengths and has continued to work for us.
  24. I was due to go to the game at Spurs this Sunday but now can't go. If anyone is interested in buying the ticket please post a message or mail me. My mate has the ticket so we'd need to sort out for you to meet him somewhere before the game but that shouldn't be too difficult. The ticket is of course for the Everton end. Oh and if you do go, give them a shout for me! COYB.
