  1. A journo probably just saw that we were linked with Brands and then went out to see who PSV were trying to recruit... and there's his story for the day!
  2. Not thrilled about him , but if we are to sign him, it should come before the end of the season or at least before we bring in a new manager. The new DoF should have a say in hiring the next manager given the intertwined relationship of the two positions. I'll point out that Koeman was brought in before Walsh, forcing a working relationship.
  3. Hahaha. In all seriousness, couple brilliant bits from Goodison it would seem: 1) the commentary Gantry being right in the middle of the fans 2) the potential for 1878 seats coming directly from Goodison... Now all it needs is a super narrow and cramped tunnel to enter the pitch
  4. Absolutely love this design. Just throw it inside a giant brick structure that looks like an old factory to piss Romey off and it'll be perfect !
  5. Our tactics today were bizarre and gave us no chance against a team that was likely to thrash us no matter how brilliant our set up, but these last six are far more important. City are out of this world. Need some positivity and hopefully some good results going into the summer rather than last season where our players checked out in April and May.
  6. We got spanked by a team that should've spanked us, though our tactics of giving them so much space in the middle is quite puzzling. Davies, Bolasie, Jags had their moments
  7. Didn't know straight reds were issues for simulation.
  8. 2 in our central midfield is suicide against these guys, just like the Arsenal match
  9. FFS. That goal infuriates me because it was cheap to concede.... We honestly looked in this to some degree - not sure we can do much from 2-0 down
  10. Schneiderlin let him by but a bit unlucky not to get a block on either the cross or the shot and then a world class strike....
  11. You see these sorts of contract clauses in baseball all the time, I believe.
  12. I shouldn't comment on matters in which I don't know a ton about, but yeah - it would seem we were a team on the brink of being one of the true big boys across Europe and gaining a lot of fame across the continent - instead of being able to potentially really build a brand, all our best players left.... right before the start of the Premier League when we had a chance to really build a global audience and gain financial power as a club (like Man United). Couldn't have been worse timing between the European ban for us and the mere 5 years later that the age of the PL started and global tv...
  13. I think at the end of the day, and Everton fans aren't going to like hearing this, there's a significant difference in brand value between Liverpool and Everton and in our current state, Liverpool will be able to command far more valuable commercial sponsorships due to it being a much more global brand. IE: We aren't going to command anywhere near what Liverpool will for their shirt contract and their shirt sponsor contract. What we really needed was to be bought about ten years ago before FFP and the assessment of fair valuation for commercial sponsorships so we could get an absurdly overvalued sponsorship - ex: Etihad and Man City about 5-7 years ago. The thing is - being over reliant on broadcast revenues and the fact that they are now making up a much higher % of PL team revenues will actually push us towards the Burnley's and Bournemouth's of the world given that all teams in the PL are much richer now from these sources. Agree- excellent break out - Tifo does really nice work.
  14. Think that's brilliant. Too often extra time is a disaster combination of tired legs and teams unwilling to take a chance.
  15. I don't get the fuss - that's a two team league.
  16. The 2014 World Cup final had 25m+ viewers in the U.S. Also, at 9%, is the American past time (baseball) fringe, in your eyes? What about basketball at 11%? What about the fact that soccer is more popular than baseball in the under 55 demographics and near equivalent to basketball? Football dominates all other sports here, but soccer is near as important as any other sport.
  17. Because those shithouses aren't getting my support until WC qualifying starts again. Also, soccer is hardly a fringe sport here. https://www.socceramerica.com/publications/article/76336/gallup-poll-soccer-closes-in-on-big-three-as-most.html
  18. Was there myself. VAR is going to ruin the game, because in addition to the delays in play, you can probably find an elbow where a ref could give a red if he wanted in most matches when there truly wasn''t much in it. I prefer getting mad at refs because they blew a call in real time rather than giving them another opportunity to make themselves the center of the match.
  19. I'd be happy if he makes himself a useful squad player.
  20. No. The character is not specific to an ethnicity, but it is clearly a man, per Fleming's creation. There can be plenty of women spy characters, but James Bond is not one of them.
