  1.

I dont agree with you, I think Rooney would slot in perfectly just behind our top forward as the attacking mid. He does not have to be fast to distribute quickly. His brain (as you correctly pointed out) is perfect for it. Quick thinking and a killer pass.

United only finished 6 points ahead of us if he is not good enough to get in their team why is he all of a sudden good enough for us? we are supposed to be building a team to try and break into the top 6 Rooney is not the answer.

  2. Surely not- he's far too good for them.

Well you would think so, but down here it's mostly fans of London clubs where i live on the south coast as it's only 40 mins away on the train, lot's of Arsenal. Chelsea and West Ham. Not many Brighton fans here even though that's only 10 mins up the road, they hide themselves away and just come alive at weekends

  3. Chelsea and Liverpool are the two worst teams in the league when it comes to tapping up and flouting the rules and regulations. Time and again they both get caught yet time and again they both get a slap on the wrist.

Seriously, being caught tapping up VVD should be enough to warrant a 12 month transfer ban.

Given that Liverpool are alread in trouble over that kid from Stoke, pretty obvious the only reason they pulled out of the VVD transfer and apologised was they would have been up the creek without a paddle had they gone any further with it. Some sort of ban would have had to have been put on them. I still think Southampton should have taken it further but they accepted that statement for some reason.

  4. I think he would do fine. I don't expect him to be a 20 goal guy but there's more to a striker being successful than just his own work in front of goal.

It's really unfair on the rest of our team when pundits and reporters keep bleating about how dependent we are on Lukaku to score. The rest of the team works it's socks off to create the chances that Lukaku puts away.

Sure, Dembele may or may not be as good but we sure as hell will give him plenty of opportunities to score.

I must say the amount of pundits and journo's who seem to be criticising what we are doing is starting to become slightly annoying, especially when you have the likes of Chelsea and the RS doing fuck all so far.

  5. Talking to a Chelsea season ticket holder this morning(i live down south surrounded by chelsea and arsenal fans) and apparently some of these arguments between Conte and the board are not just because of the texts to Costa but also because the club are not prepared to pay the asking price for Lukaku(Conte really wants Rom). They have a new person negotiating their transfers and she is not prepared to pay stupid fees for players anymore, they want more value for money signings. Not really sure where else he would go, hopefully a comprimise can be agreed.

  6.

man city just paid 34.9m for a guy from portugal untested in the prem. this guy is tested in the prem, solid, young and ready to grow and improve. also we aren't paying 30m, that's with add ons. some have said 18-22m which would be more than fair.

The goalkeeper that man city have just signed is regarded as the standout keeper from this years champions league, he had some brilliant games especially against dortmund

  7. Are you a redshite?! The council aren't paying for the stadium. They are being the guarantor and setting up an SPV company that will help the club secure the finance in the most tax efficient, safe for all, way. The Council will benefit nicely from the arrangement. As will the city.

fair enough, just i have read things that say Moshiri is not putting his own money into it that's all, you have cleared it up a bit

  8. If we got Chelsea first game and Lukaku is gone it'd be Calvert-Lewin leading the line because we won't have even begun mulling over Lukaku's replacement yet .

I hope not, if we have yet another joke window i don't see the majority of fans putting up with another round of the same old excuses again, we have listened to that rubbish year on year from BK. If Moshiri starts on them it will be interesting to see the reaction. He can't use the stadium as an excuse as a) nothing much is happening with it at the moment, and b he's not paying for it the council are.

  9. Just a feeling I get- I think he was promised massive things and slowly but surely it's starting to unravel. We missed out on target after target last season, this season, although it's still very early seems to be following the same pattern.

He's made it crystal clear he has his targets and it's now up to the board he's said his phone is glued to him in case he has to get a flight. If none of that is forthcoming he will take no bullshit like Moyes and Nobby Martinez, he'll just walk.

I hope I'm wrong but I can smell it in the air.

I know what you mean, im yet to be 100% convinced by Moshiri, he promised big changes when he came in and so far not a huge amount is happening. He is the one who spoke to the national media about £60m bids for defenders, yet this year it looks like we need to sell players before we can bring anyone else in. I do hope i am wrong and to be fair it is hard to say anything till the season starts and we will know what the team looks like. But if RK has handed the board a list of targets, im slightly like you i have a feeling that if he doesn't get them he will walk, i hope not though.

  10. This certainly could come back to bite Rom in the ass. The question is, if we get no offers or no acceptable offers for Rom, will we actually want him playing for us next season. I know he can find the back of the net but it may well be that Moshiri splashes out on a 'replacement' striker before Rom is sold - and then nobody comes in for him.

Disruptive influence etc. Rom would have to eat an awful lot of humble pie before I would welcome him back in the fold.

Not going to happen imo, it seems pretty obvious that we are sell to buy this window. although i would like to know what happened to the £60m bids for players last summer and this year we seem to be waiting for players to leave.

  11. I meant that that's why there's so often another offer. The agent calls other clubs he knows are interested to inform that he has opened negotiations with this other club, would you be willing to talk, too?

I really wish there was a better system with agents, they are a pain in the arse! Maybe if each club had an appointed agent rather than the players having the agents, then the club would just be negotiating with the other club with no outside influence and some cretin like Raola demanding a massive cut from it for making a few phone calls as he would already have a wage from the club he worked for.
