Hernandez isn't that good either. But in terms of a second striker, I kind of agree but in reality, we need a Rom back-up/competition. We have Mirallas, Naismith and Barkley, who COULD support the big man but they're not ideal but we have no replacement for Rom should he get injured.

I can't help feeling that Mirallas should get a chance upfront, some of his best games as a professional were playing upfront for Olympiakos.

I don't understand the comment. We replaced Galloway with Kone, and it worked. How is that not wanting to score goals?

because when we attack the goal(like you say by bringing on Kone) we start looking like a team and like we might threaten the other team, when we just knock it about trying to keep possession we look shit

  3. Hey everybody, hope you are all enjoying the summer,

WOW! that was quite something, and not from the players either, i mean Martinez, he really needs to understand goals win games not possession i don't understand why it took him so long to change the tactics.

  4. Moyes got slaughtered for playing Barkley out wide, but Roberto escapes much of that criticism. Not from me, he's an idiot for persisting with it. It's clear as fucking day how wrong it is.

Can't help feeling the reason he doesn't bother to build the team around Barkley is he is resigned to the fact he will probably be sold in the summer,

  5. barkleys vision is increasingly shite. He reminds me of the player who was far superior to all the others ones at school so he just tried to take everyone on. If his Vision was as good as his feet, our goals for this season would be far healthier.

Don't really think he's ever tried to be a number 10 type anyway has he? seem's a different sort of player imo, more of a support man from midfield. Spraying the ball around is not his thing, he's not a Mata or Silva, it's something we are really lacking imo.

They are a huge company in Malaysia

Yeah, i agree, But Epson is an established brand of many years that's global to many countries, remind me again how many shops sell Chang beer? down here i can only think of one off the top of my head. I can walk into any computer shop and they will have Epsom printers for sale.

  7. All i know of this gentleman is the episode of Family Guy were Peter is a bit taken with this person, i can't say i recognize him from anything in particular but then i don't watch too many movies tbh. A sad loss too the acting world it seems given the tributes on tv and radio from fellow professionals.

  8. I admit i underestimated what we would do under the new manager and im pleased so far. Long may it continue.

A few concerns as too how we would cope with a Champions League campaign if we do qualify, given that 3 of our important players at the moment are loan players, and it's still an aging squad, it would be a huge summer window for the club.

  9. rescuing us from the Smith, Walker, Johnson era was not an easy thing!

Just for the record (again), I'm not defending his dumbing down over the last couple of years - hell, I bought into it. And I'm not defending his actions since he left, which have really grated on me. But I'm not going to be blinded by hatred so I can ignore the plethora of good that he did for Everton...

Me neither, the current squad(that is performing so well) is made up of players he mostly signed, and we have always had a solid back four under him, But i do think some of the praise is a bit OTT, that's all.

  10. you know full well why we should hold him with regard...

    On what grounds?

Yes, he did rescue us from the Smith era, but as far as i can see, Martinez is making Moyes time at the club looking like he underachieved, it's mostly the same players, but watching them it's like they are a different side altogether. I think we will go a lot further with Roberto in charge than we ever would have with Moyes in charge. With Moyes we had stability imo, with Martinez we have a future imo.

And so the point remains, even if you beleive that they arent the full story surely there is enough there to prove he did a good job at Everton?

Im saying no more on the subject now anyway. The "appologists" can continue to rate Moyes and apologise for the fact were not fighting relegation and the haters can continue to rewrite the history books and claim that Moyes has had no influence on the current squad even though the players say differently

I don't think anyone is trying to suggest that are they Dunc? i think it's more a case of(based on the current form of the team, a team of players he mostly bought) it's looking like we might have been slightly under achieving at times, you even admitted yourself in a previous post that he had gone stale and a parting of ways was needed. Maybe he's just not quite the messiah some made him out to be. I look at it as we had stability under Moyes, under Martinez it looks like we have a future.

  12. Very impressed with the way we just stuck to task today and thus got our rewards with a great strike from Barkley. It's only the 3rd time i have seen a full game this season(due to new work commitments at weekends) mostly i have just seen highlights and short clips, i must say we look capable of silverware football(at the moment) under Martinez imo. Im looking forward to seeing what business is done in January.
