Another slow player to add to the abundance of slow players we have. Joy.
This, i know it's only internet/paper talk, but we are getting linked with some right pish at the moment imo.

the 2 teams they have previously got involved with where/are far smaller than Everton or Liverpool or any Premier League team, i doubt they would get away with the same level of re-branding and they would be stupid to even try, but a company like that brings serious money though.

Its a major step in the right direction Si, I'm not giving Roberto the key to the city just yet but in a very short space of time (sooner than expected) he has gone about imposing a much needed style change to our team. It has certainly suited some more than others. Lets not forget he has had a few issues to deal with - pienaar injury, gibson injury, mirallas being out of form, lukaku and barry missing their respective home club ties.
Tell me a better 45 minutes of football in recent years than we seen against Newcastle.
The key things he needs to sort out are:-
- Jags, Baines and Mirallas form.
- Lukaku needs 90 minutes fitness, he's working very hard for 45 and has nothing left
- we need to be nastier - he needs to be nastier. Forget this likable lark - get tougher on the players at those times when they have dropped the tempo like the second half against city, newcastle and fulham.
He will be all over this anyway... for me I have seen enough to be more than satisfied. Since the end of the window we have looked a better side, I want to see how Kone can supplement our forward line as we need his input until we can see Lukaku do it for a full game.
Do we start with Kone? - let him run the back line tired and then Lukaku takes advantage in second half? I have lost all faith in Jelavic - he's a busted flush. Get rid in January, a drop in form is one thing but his is much more than that.
Im just trying to think with a bit more caution, i think it's far too early to get carried away and some fans are starting to get carried away imo. No doubt about it though we certainly look to have an interesting future under Martinez.

we will agree to disagree then boys. maybe it's just the fact that humble pie being repeatedly shoved in your face is the issue rather than the opinion itself, after all we do all have our forum idiosyncrasies. unless we need to get into drawing those out?
Look at it this way then Haf, underneath the glossy exterior of pass, pass, pass, as far as i can see, we still only play to our best for 45mins and we still don't score enough goals compared to those around us. These are the same fundamental problems we had under Moyes, Sure Roberto has been a breath of fresh air with some of his ideas and positivity but team wise, same problems are still there imo.

£15 million plus valencia........cheeky bastards!
Valencia is just Naismith with some consistency, would rather go with Dunc's suggestion of £15m + Hernandez tbh.

Official Everton @Everton 15s
Everton (to face Newcastle): Howard, Baines, Distin, Jagielka ©, Coleman, Mirallas, McCarthy, Barry, Osman, Barkley, Lukaku. #EFCNUFC

From what I can gather, it was Sunderlands Director of football Roberto Di Fanti that signed the 124 new players, and not Di Canio.
Makes sense, when i heard the announcement last night, i was sure they described Di Canio as "Head Coach" rather than "Manager"

Missed the game due to a rather drunken family wedding, but good to see us developing a new style of play that seems to be working so far, lets hope we can keep it up. Still think we could do with another CB and a Winger in the Jan window though.

I may have to invest in a PS3 just to play this game

No, but i would like him too. Problem is that the club and a large section of the support base have a small club mentality built in from years of Kenwright/Moyes regime of 'plucky old Everton' im not sure even Martinez can change that, it needs a clean sweep imo.

The Isley Brothers 3+3

On his day he is easily the best defender we have, problem is those days have been few and far between bar one freak season resulting in his player of the season award. A move is probably the best option for both parties imo.
Some folk on here do make me laugh though, how can you say you want to move on from Moyes hoofball then say you want rid of a defender like Heitinga? He is exactly the type of defender we need to play this new system

Yes Aberdeen. although born in Liverpool i grew up in Aberdeen due to parents moving there because of the then thriving oil industry. I used to go and see them regularly and always check for their results, and a few ex school friends still go and keep me informed of news now and again..

I can't wait to see us kick on up the league now, some great business done by Bill, especially with regards to keeping Baines. We have signed 3 very good players who will help fill some of the gaps and now our first 11 looks good enough for a European place imo.
-
He scored more times last year than any Everton player, so he can't be that bad. Given more opportunities to start, he'll come good this season.
Im fed up of people using this as an example, if that's the bench mark fans want to use for all our future strikers, lets just not bother and learn to play without, he only scored a few more than Jelavic, it was hardly 20-30 a season.

It must be, unless it's to do with the valuation.

#FCPorto indeed own 100% for Fernando's rights.

#EFC have cooled their interest in move for James McCarthy http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football

Im trying to find out if #FCPorto own all of Fernando's right or not. Could snag any deal w/ an English club, which requires full ownership

Only seen the extended highlights and it was a great result by the lads. Im pleased the way the team is performing at the moment and if we can add in January(which it seems Martinez wants too) then i don't see why we can't maintain our league position and challenge for the 4th CL place.
